This happened to me yesterday and I was about ready to go to one of the online virus removers. Go to Tools, internet options and then delete files and offline content. also do a "clean disc" in your system tools. Reboot and see if that corrects it. Also clear your history. . Also check your start-up file, although there was nothing new in mine. Start, Run, then type "msconfig", select the "Start-up" folder and check to make sure there is nothing new/strange in your start-up. I hope this helps or you have gotten it straightened out already yourself. I know how frustrating it is.
