Try the Amigo From Cingular

Why don't you try that new thing that Cingular has out for this purpose?  It is called Amigo.  It is a little cell phone that has 4 buttons on it that YOU program.  They can press the button and call the numbers you have preprogrammed into it but not just any phone call.  My son and daughter have gotten those for the grandchildren and it seems to work great.  #1 is programmed to call Mom and so on.  The Amigo is very cost effecient as well.  Just a thought.  Have a nice weekend!!!

Verizon has better coverage than Cingular - I do know that. But I do not know about satellite.
Cingular wireless service has really gotten bad since

We had Cingular for many years, up until around a 1-1/2 to 2 years ago. I didn't have a cell phone for that period of time. I recently got one again with Cingular about 3 months ago, and boy, do I notice a terrible difference! My husband does as well, and most of the friends & family are on it as well. They also notice a decline in the service--unable to connect, don't get voicemails for a day or two, etc., etc.  Anyone else noticed this?

Laptop w/ Cingular wireless connection
Hi,

I just bought my first laptop since we are getting ready to move across the USA. I researched into using a PC card that connects to cingular wireless (Or verizon) so that I can connect to internet, E-mail, etc. Kind of like a cell phone.

I was wondering if anyone has used this and how well it works in real life?

Thanks for your time.
