a map & driving directions right to her door. Or, if all you have is her phone number, Google that, or try a reverse directory. Even if it's unlisted, you can probably narrow down her vicinity by area code & first 3 digits of the number. Then look up local office supply stores in the area - Staples, Office Depot, etc., see if she has an account with any of them. You might get lucky. If all else fails, a P.I. can probably locate her for you. I've had good luck with running down people in-person. Got one in a restaurant entertaining other clients, and one at work on her payday. Got paid IMMEDIATELY by embarrassing the hold U-know-what out of them in front of their peers. If all else fails, sue. $12,000 might not be Small Claims Court, though. Still that's 'way too much money to just walk away from and write off as a loss. And the longer you wait, the harder it will be to catch her.

Have you tried Google earth? You can type in any address, street, city, state, country, etc. and it will zoom in and show the area and then you can hit the + button and zoom right in and see the exact house, building, etc. that you are looking for.

That's my most frequent tactic if I don't find the word in my word books. I'll play with leaving certain words out and adding them in, in various combinations, to try to get a hit that has a word which sounds like my blank. If I get a hit, I'll Google WITH that word, and see what hits I get, and what their source is (i.e.,checking the sources out for reliability). When I say 5 sites or searches, I mean I don't often try more than 5 different combinations without a serious hit. If I get a hit, then I will spend a little more time checking that out before I give up.
If it's a drug name, I use RxList, or more frequently the Drugs.com website. Since they redid RxList, I haven't found one that has quite as good a wildcard search, but Drugs.com works okay most of the time.
If it's a place name (like when they give names of outlying outreach clinics and etc.) I'll use Mapquest and look up the city my hospital is in, then "pan out" and look at the outlying towns.
Hope that's what you're looking for. I do have bookmarks, but I find that even the ones I think I'll visit again, I waste more time doing that than with an intelligent google search. An example is the time I was looking for "banana bag." The only place I managed to find it with a degree of reliability was on a nurses' message board. I've found quite a bit sometimes on the various specialty message boards out there, but I think the quickest way to locate that is through a search engine rather than bookmarking each individual site and trying to figure out which ones to search for a particular term.

I had a lot of trouble with static in my C-phone. I replaced the phone cord and that made a big
difference. Also, have you tried a different headset? Also someone told me one time that there is a microphone under your volume control on the right corner of the C-phone. It's a tiny hole. If you break off a Q-tip and stick that into the hole that will squelch a lot of background noise and that worked as well. As far as getting your C-phone service, I heard that Dictaphone is "sunsetting" C-phones at the end of this year. Meaning, they aren't going to service them anymore as they are considered an obsolete technology. So, I would contact Dictaphone and see what your options are.
I know very little about Lanier equipment. I've not used it as extensively as Dictaphone. Is there a local appliance repair place in your area? You might ask one of those places to take a look at your equipment and see what they think. Kinda scary, cause they could do more harm than good, but maybe worth a shot.
Not much help, I know. But I thought I would share what tiny bit of obscure knowledge I do have. 
I've changed them between an old phone and new phone, but the same company, i.e. Nextel.

I am not sure about you problem, because it sounds just like I have mine hooked up. The only thing I can think of is that mine has 2 line hookups in the back of the phone. If you have this too, I would just try the other one, which you probably have already done. Sorry that was not much help. I wish you luck
I have a very loud hum when using my C-phone, but no hum when I'm using the regular phone. SM
Anyone else experience this problem with their C-phone? Is there a problem with my C-phone? At first I thought it was my telelphone line and called the phone company. They sent a technician out to replace the lines and check the house, but the hum is still there on the C-phone.

I am completely clueless on the subject of a C-phone. Can someone help me understand exactly how this works? Do you have to specifically have a separate "dial up internet" service to use the C-phone? We only have one phone line. I rarely get/make calls and when I do we have cell phones. I just started working with a C-phone and got digital phone. I can go a month and my phone not ring, so far have gotten 3 calls today, but I'm afraid that if I try to answer the phone that I will lose my report.
I guess I could pull up a report and have my husband call on his C-phone and test it that way and then if I lose it no biggie.
Anyone use/try C-phone with Medicom's phone service?

I have address resources available, but
the dictating physician will often forget to say the doctor's first name, and there will be 20 Dr. So-and-sos listed. Or they spell the easy names like Smith, but not the difficult ones that they mangle the pronunciation on. Then they carbon copy six different physicians. I've got the hospital directory, online hospital website, online physician address lookup, Google, and other resources, but it's still very time consuming.
I'm thinking I like Meditech better. LOL At least everything was in there. F7, F10, arrow down, save, you're done.

But everyother time anyone has E-mailed me from this board it always states either in the subject line or somewhere that it is in response to a post on the board. This definitely was not and there is nowhere else that Spheris could have gotten my address and see above there was someone else that got it also. So they are getting it someway.

ALS: I read your post to my husband, who works on computers for a living, and he said it sounds like you lost an entire partition. I know that's not helpful and probably something you already figured out, but just wanted to offer something here. He also suggested running a virus scan as it sounds like something a virus might have caused. I sincerely wish you luck and hope that your files can be recovered. You might want to consult a local technician.
To the other poster: I am so sorry for your losses and I can't begin to imagine what you and your children have gone through. It sounds like today was difficult, to say the least. I think we've all been guilty at one time or another for saying something maybe we shouldn't have because of something going on within ourselves. I also send you sincere good wishes.

Did you get physical address??
Did you get the name of her company and the physical address? Phone number? There is a lesson to be learned here -- you still need to get all of this info in case something like this happens again. Unless you have a physical address you cannot send a demand letter with return receipt or serve her with papers or anything. Hopefully you do have that and can send her a written certified letter demanind payment within 10 days. Then onto small claims court. But none of this is possible without a physical address. Good luck. If you have her full name or business name and city -- you might be able to do a search to find a phone number. Did her check to you have a phone number on it? I always take a copy of the front of checks at least the first one so that I have their account number, etc. Also shows payment. Let us know how it comes out.

I think you need to redirect your comments to the appropriate person. I was not approving or condoning her actions. I really don't think this lady understands why everyone is so upset with her (maybe a little thick). I was simply trying to point out what in her post has made everyone so upset.
I was also trying to offer some legal solutions to her problems. Not to mention, that her kids do deserve kudos for serving their country.
Next time you decide to post, make sure you direct your comments to the right person. Some people get a little too excited on this board and make comments in haste that are often misdirected, as in your case.

Help please. I am doing all my transcription in Microsoft Word. Can someone tell me how to set up my address book so that when I got to Tools, Letter & Mailings, Envelope so that when I click on the address book a list of my doctors comes up and I can just insert it?? Net Address to Prosecutor Video
Go to MSN.com, on the left side are all categories for the news. Go down the column till you see videos (or news videos), about three quarters down page. Click on that, a box will come up with a selection of videos to watch. To the left are categories you can pick from. There is also a search box. Type in Aruba in the search box, click on the arrow and all the videos from the case come up. There prosecutor is the blonde lady, about second row of videos. There were two sessions with her. Click on the play button under the video and you will be able to watch the interview with the prosecutor.
