You pay all your own taxes, buy your own equipment, supposedly according to the IRS and my laywer, set your own rates and your own work schedule with the clients.
Many companies are trying to call their staff ICs so they don't have to pay half of the social security and federal/state tax.
As an IC, I wouldn't work for 7-8 cpl because after taxes, that works out to 6-6.5 or even less. Plus I won't work a set schedule (8-5). I do accept getting a certain amount of lines within a 24 hour period but on my own schedule. I also own my own equipment and keep my own books to take to my accountant at the end of the year.
If anyone knows anyone who is looking for a CLINIC IC that will pay 10+ cpl and give me flexibility to do a set # of lines within a 24-hour period and not want me to sit for a certain number of hours (because I can crank out 2000+ lines in 8 hours or less), please let me know. I'm looking for another part-time position until I get another client to replace one who moved.
