My cocker spaniel has a skin condition.
Her claws are brittle and long, her paw pads are thickened, she's itchy and smelly, and she has dead skin cells built up in the same areas you described. We did the antibiotics, steroids, allergy meds, and everything else without good results. I put a stop to it when the vet wanted to do $1,000 worth of tests and biopsies. (And switched vets!) The first vet called it allergies, seborrhea, keratinitis, and a bunch of other guesses. She also has mattery eyes and frequent ear infections. We rescued her from the pound 10 years ago, so she's an old girl. I have to keep her shaved and wash her with either a prescription shampoo or Neutrogena T-gel.
Shelties rule!! I have 9 yo Sheltie, a Yorkie, cocker spaniel, and a chihuahua. nm

Don't forget Marilyn Monroe for being too demanding of the president.
Subversives, all of them! LOL
Marilyn Monroe??? Jerry Lewis??? You're kidding right?

Exactly why I don't like him. Who liked Joe Cocker?

Probably staining the new fence we put up to keep our dogs in and other dogs out.
The neighbor dog won't stop trying to attack our dogs, so we put up a nice big fence. Should do the trick. Doesn't keep the rabbits out, though. We'll BBQ, too. Can't go far. Hubby is on call for the weekend with his job.javascript:editor_insertHTML('text','');

Prince Charles or Brad Pitt?

This is true, Cocker was at Woodstock,........sm
Joe Cocker performed at every rock concert and the Fillmore East in NYC and the Fillmore West in California.....many people enjoyed him and his music and even his spasticity.
How stereotypical. Someone goes against the grain, and that makes them Charles Manson????

YUK! NO Pitt or Charles. Thinking more of Sean Connery or Mel Gibson with the kilts. nm

sorry, right you are... got my acronyms mixed up

Maybe I'm getting the posters mixed up here.
I was responding to the person who wrote *I just started with a company, and I honestly don't think I will EVER be able to make the line count .... 11,000.* That's what I meant by the line count being required.
As problematic as the company is, though, I don't think they offshore.
Mixed reviews
I can't speak for all of them, but my experience was that while they help in terms of lowering interest, you are still going to be stuck for years and years because that is the name of the game with credit card sharks...
The politicians have made it even easier for the cc companies to "enslave"
people by making is really really hard to declare bankruptcy - and there are many legitimate reasons for filing bankrupt. NOtice how minimum payments went up right after that law passed? It's no accident.
You can usually tell which companies are professional and which aren't... but pay close attention to the fees you are paying them to cut your interest... They get a kickback from the credit card companies on top of that fee - make sure it's not out of bounds. Good luck (free advise: cut up all cards except for one!).
I have mixed feelings.
My knee-jerk reaction is to boycott any company offshoring. It feels like a personal insult at times, toward American workers. This is a reaction, though.
My response (using the brain, not the heart) tells me that globalization of this and every other industry is here. It is not going away. I want the U.S. to be able to trade with other companies; I don't think it is in this country's best interest to be withdrawn from the world. While I would like to take it personally, from an intellectual perspective this was going to happen one way or another. The MT job as it is today would eventually be outdated by advancements in technology. So it is not like offshoring alone has caused these changes. All industries evolve. It is what allows us to have better products, cheaper prices, and more affordable living choices. This field is no different. This is a response.
I do not plan to martyr myself in vain for something that is following its natural path of progression. Taking such an obstinant position against change would be the greatest catalyst to my financial demise -- the world will go on changing, so I had better learn to change, adapt, and evolve with it!
Apologizing, got you mixed up with someone else.

Mixed on the female dictators
I have some I like and some I don't. I have noticed that I have trouble hearing certain female voice tones even if they are speaking relatively plainly.
I have one who will totally leave words out and replace them with a grunting noise or no word at all. She does this consistently, and I can't help wonder what she is thinking. It almost seems like a habit type of thing. I wonder if she does it during normal conversations. Lol :)
Any others out there?
You're right, I am getting my PETA fanatics mixed-up.

It probably would stink, mixed in a bowel! Cute blooper, though. nm

Mrs. King
It just says that she was ready to try some alternative treatments. Actually, many, many people go to Mexico and to South America for treatments that are not available here.
Unlike what some of the posters below say, they are not necessarily crackpot treatments. Most other countries do not tie their medical system up in knots like the USA does - they offer the treatment, tell the patient the risks and let the pt. decide whether to assume the risk.
....king....got cut off :)

No way, have you seen the Burger King guy
He seems kind of creepy to me. I have developed enough paranoia working at home alone all these years without some guy who thinks he's a real king sneaking up on me in my back yard or trying to push me off a tall building. No thanks!
Anyone eat chicken a la king?
Chicken a LA King Recipe
3 tablespoons butter
1 cup fresh sliced mushrooms
1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
2 cups evaporated milk or half-and-half
1 1/2 cups chicken broth
3 cups diced cooked chicken
1/4 cup chopped pimiento
Melt butter in a medium saucepan. Add mushrooms and green pepper; cook for 5 minutes. Blend in flour, salt, and pepper. Continue stirring and cooking until smooth and bubbly. Gradually add milk and chicken broth, stirring constantly. Cook for 10 minutes, stirring frequently. If you'd like a thicker sauce, blend 2 tablespoons of cornstarch with 1/4 cup cold water; add to sauce, a little at a time, until desired thickness is reached. Cook for a few more minutes. Add chicken and pimiento; heat through. Serve on toast points or pastry shells or rice. Chicken a la King Recipe serves 6 to 8.

Not a word help question: Would menstrual blood mixed with urine cause increased microalbumin? (pl
My 21-YO daughter has type 2 DM, but it is very well controlled by diet alone. She just had some lab tests done (blood and urine), and they called to let us know her urine microalbumin was slightly elevated. However, she was on her period when they did the urine test, and she said there was definitely blood mixed in with her urine because of this. Does anyone know if this would affect the microalbumin result? They want her to start taking a small dose of lisinopril, but she doesn't want to and wants to wait 6 months for the next test. Her hemoglobin A1c and other values were "perfect" according to the nurse who called, but we are waiting for the actual results to come via mail.
We have a cocker spanial who is afraid of storms and afraid of the dark! He is up every night severa
Even with a night light he still gets afraid of the dark and I have to get up and pet him and tell him it is okay, et cetera. He will finally settle and go back to sleep, but will do it again throughout the night. I let him sleep in my room thinking it would help..but it didnt. He is just a big baby, so we love him and try to make him feel as safe as we can. If we have to deal with thunderstorms and the dark we are in for a long night!!
I was at King Fahad... it was terrific
Write me privately at shemah@shemahonline.com. I've got lots of info and tips for you on how to have a REALLY great year or two in Saudi Arabia! :) Don't worry, you can have FUN!

That is interesting, I saw her on Larry King
and he asked why she started the school there and not to help kids here and her answer was because in this country we had a public school system for the kids to go to.
I would call giving away cars to her audience giving to needy people here, I couldn't even afford tickets to go see her show if I wanted. I have always liked Oprah over the years, but lately I am just disappointed in her.
King Faisal Hospital
They have a web site, I just looked at it. They have a listing for an MT.
See http://kfshrcj.org/channels
Interesting. I'll check on Dubai later.
chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate

I won Chocolate too and it was such a fun wk
Anyone ever work at King Faisal Hospital
in Riyadh? I seriously have been thinking about it. They pay big bucks from what I've heard, no taxes, free housing, air-fare, vacation, medical, etc. Don't know how safe it is anymore since the war.
Has anyone actually left MT to work at Burger King?
I am just about ready to throw in the towel. Just wondering if others have left MT and worked at Burger King or places like that? Thanks!
Larry King tomorrow night 6/29...sm
Star Jones will be on Larry King tomorrow night speaking about her departure from The View......
King and Prince is wonderful but pricey
Jeckyl Island has more beach than St. Simons and has more to do. St. Simons only has 1 or 2 places to stay on the beach, with K&P being the nicest and ON the beach. If you want the same experience, I would recommend staying on Jeckyl Island as you can always drive over to St. Simons as they are so close. The village on St. Simons is wonderful. Plan a whole day to spend there. Jeckyl has more to do "family style" but you can rent bikes and explore the entire island in a few hours. There are some places with wonderful snap shot opportunities (I have one from Jeckyl Island of a full moon rising over the Atlantic through tree branches as my screen saver). I went in October one year during a hurricane and playing golf on St. Simons was an adventure!! People thought we were crazy to be out there, but we had fun.
bribe myself with chocolate
I set my goal of 30 minutes, 200 lines, whatever, and once I meet my goal I get to eat a piece of candy that I keep sitting below my monitor as motivation. Reese's peanut butter cups and Dove chocolate are my fave!
chocolate fountain
I saw one of these at the opening of a store and the person that owned the fountain, stayed and attended to it. I didn't see how it was set up or taken down. It was a really neat thing and the fresh fruits and other accompaniments were yummy.
Chocolate cravings...
I find it more tempting working at home to eat junk -esp. when I get bored transcribing. SO, I just don't keep it in the house cause if it's here, I'll probably sooner or later eat some! LOL...Unfortunately, my husband (who is trim, dang him!) always has a bag or two of mini candy bars in the fridge. I just put them to the back where I can't see them. Or, I will buy the Slim-Fast snack bars, which are QUITE good! Only about 120 calories each, which is better than 280 for a candy bar. Hope that helps!
I won chocolate this year! Thank you again.
love
