I think alot of them could use a little reminder of what it means to be patriotic. So, could alot of regular people for that matter. I know I'll be sending this to some people I know!

The problem with SS has been going on for years. No politician is willing SM
to seriously discussed. It's not because of the war.
I was watching the news this morning and some Florida politician
said the exact same thing.  "Come on, people.  You had plenty of warning.  You were told to stockpile at least 72 hours' worth of food, water and supplies."  DH and I were discussing it last night.  We have at least two weeks' worth of food on hand at all times.  If we had warning of a storm or potential crisis, we'd fill up our gas tanks and as many plastic milk jugs as we could wash.  We keep the propane tank and woodpile full in case we need to use the BBQ and woodstove as alternatives for heating and cooking.  We've got coolers and ice jugs in the freezer if we need them.  We don't have a big house with lots of storage either.  And dangit, we'd make sure our elderly neighbor is taken care of, too!  Whatever happened to being prepared for the worst?  Where are the days when people kept first aid kits, flashlights, extra blankets, nonperishable items, and emergency supplies in their homes and cars?  Instead, able-bodied adults lie back playing the victim card, waiting for aid, and criticizing when help doesn't get there quickly enough.  It's like nobody's got any common sense any more.  It really makes me not want to donate to those who can't be bothered to help themselves.  Granted, there are many exceptions, such as the elderly, infirmed, or children.
Typical politician, Yada yada yada but no plan,
