your download manager. You should be able to specify the language there. If you can't find anything, let us know which download manager you are using.

It isn't a Smartype issue it is a Word issue
On the Word toolbar at the top, click on Tools, then Autocorrect, then check the box that says "capitalize first letter of sentence." That will do it for you.
Did you check all your settings and especially....
your password in OE? If so, is the Spamgard on in Yahoo so that it is keeping from going to your OE?
Make sure you check the 32-bit/64-bit settings (sm)
I'm having some problems with compatibility with my new laptop because it is 64-bit. I don't completely understand 64-bit means, but apparently a lot of software is only 32-bit compatible right now. I'm having to do all kinds of things to get just simple stuff, like Adobe Flash Player, to run correctly on my 64-bit system. I don't use the software you mentioned but I wouldn't be surprised if there were issues with loading it on a 64-bit system.
MQ check issue
Another thing I thought odd, is that it says it's an adjustment, but under 100.00. Anytime I've had to call payroll on a shortage, they won't issue the difference until the next payday IF it's under 100.00 (at least in my office)...so that is odd in itself that they are going against that rule??????????
If I remember correctly, check your footpedal settings in Winscribe. Don't need to panick.

I send my work FTP and wondering if I send it blue background/white type, will the MTSO get it that way or will it appear normally with the white bkg/black type?
I hear that using the blue bkg/white type eases eye strain, which will help me, and wondering if I need to change it back before sending it via FTP.

I would like to set up my MS Word to catch as many grammar errors as possible. Should I just check every box?

Go into settings and emualte your WP to work as WORD with (sm)

That would tell you if the platform is making the changes to your Word and, if that's the case, talk to your platform tech support.
Not word issue you need to get
There is a Service pack 1 for Smartype that has to be added. It takes care of the capitilzation problem. Go to their website, contact tech support and they will mail you the upgrade
Having issue with Word sm
All of a sudden when I open any document I have on the left side of my screen about a one-inch print preview (at least I think its a print preview). It shows the pages within that template. I don't know what I did to get it there and I can't seem to find the button to remove it. Anyone know what this left-sided print preview is and what I need to do to remove it?

download manager issue w/ Word 2003
So, my hard drive crashed - Dell sent me a new hard drive. I installed it and everything works fine- except for when I go to use the download manager- it asks me- save to disc- open to Word- I used to be able to open with Word but now it shows up as a little box and in Japanese. I've looked at settings in the download manager and nothing that I see that I could change. Any ideas? BTW, running XP and Office 2003. Thanks!
You can set up word to check on your
own and then compare your count to theirs.
Is this a semantics issue or is it a you versus frustrated issue?
Which ever it is, if your feeling superior on a board makes your day go on ahead. I am sure frustrated knows what she is doing and now so does her boss. I am also sure that in the future frustrated with think twice about how she words every sentence perfectly so that you can perceive it correctly. After all, that is what she would rather be doing than kissing her little daughter. NOT.
Good for you frustrated, for handling it in a professional manner. For the other MTs on here who need to get a life, well, maybe they shouldn't bother since feeling superior here seems to suit well. JMHO.

Can someone tell me how to remove a word from spell check?
I'm using ExText (Word based?), ran spell check, and accidentally clicked on 'Add' (adding a misspelled word) when I meant to click on 'Change' (to change it to the correctly spelled word). I know, I know, I shouldn't be using the mouse, I should be using the Keystrokes anyway, right?. LOL
But now that I have a misspelled word in spell check, how do I remove it? Does anyone know? TIA!
Is it just me or does MS word (༿) not check for puncutation?
I occasionaly find that I forget to put a period at the end of a sentence and can't figure out why word will check for everything under the sun but that?....or is there a way to do it that I am not aware of?

Need help on setting up Word expanders and spell check
Hi All,
I will be starting a new job soon, and it looks like I will be typing in my own computer's Word program. I managed to download my old Expander entries from my old job into Notepad, so I now have a list of my expansions. I am wondering if anyone has any good tips on doing something with the Notepad entries to get them into AutoCorrect in Word, or do I have to just go through the whole list manually and make new entries into Word AutoCorrect to use for my new expander?
I am also open to any and all suggestions to the Word spellchecker since it does not know LOTS of medical terms and drugs. Just start entering them manually or buy a medical spellchecker that interphases with Word? I saw some listed when I Googled it, but they seem awful expensive. 100$ and more. Any suggestions?

I haven't used Express Scribe since school, but have you changed the settings? I had to change it to change the settings for what food petal I was using. The one I chose was V-something (VEC? VRC?) 3-pedal, I can't remember.
It may have to do with your settings sm
under File, preferences. Make sure you don't have verify target window checked. Also, may be the pause....after so many keytstrokes. Play around with that one. Every body is different but what works for me is pause 5 msec after 1000 keystrokes.
Also, try waiting for the expansion to appear before you type the word after it.
And below, make sure you have simulate Keystrokes checked.

monitor itself. Mine has buttons to push to change the screen size and my old one had a dial. That's about as much as help as I can give.

Go to SSA.gov and research the payee options. You may have to use the search engine, but your answer to this particular issue should be there.
I am disabled and while my kids were minors, I had to fill out a form each year on how I, as the payee spent each and every penny of the money they received. I don't see how his mother can justify how she spent his money for things that you normally would pay.
That said, he is getting Social Security right? Is your son receiving a dependent check? Under law, if a parent is disabled and has minor children, each and every one of those children also receive a check until they turn 18 or graduate from high school, which ever comes first.
The check is a percentage of your husbands, so for 800.00, your son should receive at least 350.00. If you have not been getting this, they would pro-rate it back to when your husbands disability started and that in itself, could solve a lot of your financial problems. I DID go into the settings and *told* it what to --sm
count. It was still very inconsistent and would not count headers, even though I *told* it to. I would count lines with it and then recount with Sylcount and Abacus was always fewer lines. This was just MY experience with it and I don't need to be made to sound like I am not familiar enough with these programs to not do the *settings* correctly. thank you.
it depends on the settings
I worked before for gross lines, but it depends on the margins and the font setup. I had one account that was Ariel 12 and the other was only a font of 10. With the 12 font I got more lines credited as opposed to the 10 font. Working at 9 cpl without spaces actually evens out to about the same as the lesser amount with spaces. You can download Abacus and then take a document you have typed and have it count it without spaces and with gross lines and then see the difference, it's really not that much.

Thanks so much - still having problems. Got the wizard to work on a couple of ports, but only to the push rewind pedal - then will do nothing - locks up and goes crazy with buttons on Express Scribe flashing continuously...any ideas?
