I actually sit at my desk for a total of 6 to 8 hrs a day, rarely do I sit 8 and actually work the whole time, but my rear has to be here because I am an employee. I do acute care. I have a smashing primary and a very good secondary with a so-so third string account. I love them all.
I have used Smart Type for about 10 yrs or so, the same library this whole time though I have added a lot to the original library. I am fast...when I am actually typing...which is not that much actually. I do about 1600 to 1800 in a shift. I don't have very many normals either because I am fairly new to this job. Even ESLs don't slow me down very much. I have a very finely tuned ear anymore and you can ask me to type anyone and rarely do any of them slow me down significantly.
Expander is EVERYTHING if you have a sharp ear and you are a reasonably good typist. Acute care is more reliable for work load, at least that is my opinion.
