They have a television set now -

These people have been dependent on the government for so long that they have no clue how to even survive without someone else doing their thinking for them and paying their bills. This is what happens when people are never expected to be responsible for themselves and never even had a need to develop any common sense.

television came on at 4 p.m. with a
test screen that stayed on for 30 minutes, and shut down at 11 p.m. or so. And you had 1 station you could watch.
Gas was 17 cents a gallon, bread 15 cents a loaf. Pop was 6 cans for 25 cents, and 6 candy bars (big ones) for 25 cents. My first car was a brand new Chevy Impala, was $3600, fully loaded.
Learned to type on the old black Royal typewriters, had to use a slide rule for complex calculations in high school and college (no adding machines or calculators for most of us, even at home. Cash registers had the old popup numbers on tags when you pushed in the price. I could walk into the local stores, buy something, and tell them to charge it to my dad, and did not even have to give them his name (nor mine).
and if her mom wasn't on television (sm)
she'd be criticized for NOT being there. So she's damned either way. She needs support, guidance, and prayers. She should not be held responsible for her emotional outbursts. Honey, if my daughter was missing, you'd see a lot worse out of me!
This board is like your television
you have a remote to watch what you want or don’t want, same for the board.
What about live television?

I can advise her from here. Don't go on television and dog the people who are looking for
your daughter and investigating the people who may have seen her last. Wipe off some of the makeup and go grieve. Hire a private investigator. Let your Aruban attorney versed in the laws and possibly with more knowledge of what is going on in the system speak for you. Go help the searchers from Texas. Be more like your ex-husband. Maintain a low profile and quietly go about your business and don't second guess anyone who has more knowledge than you.
Don't watch television, but have music
playing very softly in the background.
Hey RadGuy!!! What happened between them? I don't watch much television.
Wayyyyyy too much garbage on television as it is.
I agree. I only watch network television
in the summer occasionally. That's if there is an episode of Dateline, 20/20, etc. that I am interested in. I have DirectTV, so I usually watch other channels such as Discovery, Discovery Health Channel, Animal Planet, Bravo, etc. And I normally try to find a good movie on one of the movie channels. Network TV usually sucks in the summer.
You can work for home doing editing for television news...?
Would you be interested in that?
My sister was Program Director for a local TV station for several years. Now, while she attends college, she is an Editor for a news organization and works from home.
