Offshoring medical transcription is not something new. It has been going on for years now. It doesn't matter if a transcription company has a US office or not. The bottom line is that they know offshore medical transcription exists. The ones who have a problem with it already have stated they want no offshoring of their transcription written into their contract. The others, well, they obviously do not care one way or the other. Hospital administration and physicians are more aware of this than many may understand; in fact, many are more educated about the HIM industry than MTs are.
