on the TV and radio. Besides, I'd never pay for radio or TV. That's just silly.

There are plenty other companies out there...sm
You don't have to put up with this. Read the boards closely and check out the Jobs Forum. Best of luck to you.
There are still plenty of companies
that value patient safety more than their greed and don't use that awful VR. Find a better company.
There are plenty of online companies set up this way also-nm
nm
I agree, but there are plenty of companies that don't - sm
Can still put food on the table working somewhere else.
Plenty of rad work out there - try the companies that specialize in it. sm
I have been with Keystrokes for 4 years and love it. I have radiology-only accounts, plenty of work and get paid well. The hospital I worked for outsourced to them and they hired me right away. Best move I ever made.
My sister is also an MT and works for another company doing rad but runs out, so be careful that the company you go with has a lot of rad-only accounts.
You idiot, there are plenty of jobs with companies that DON'T offshore. Go somewhere else and
quit your raggin on this board.
there are NOT plenty of companies who don't outsource, directly or indirectly.
as for you calling others "idiots" your credibility is gone. hope you are careful where you shop and what you buy regarding your loyalty to not participating in companies who offshore. good luck. hope you have plenty of time and plenty of money.
advertising on your car
I did surveys, took too long and never really made much money. What i want to do is find someone to advertise on my car. They wrap it with a plastic advertisement and you get paid monthly for driving around town. Does anyone have info for this? I googled it and was only able to find european companies that do it.
advertising
Hi,
I agree that most will be word of mouth, but i did make up flyers with price, turnaround time, etc and walked into and sent many offices my flyer along with a business card. If an office was advertising for a medical secretary, I would fax my flyer because more than likely, they would need a Transcriptionist or have the secretary do it. I now work for four docs all of whom were referred by my very first client.
Good luck to you!

Advertising
I had my own business for 7 years, worst mistake I ever made was selling it. Anyway, flyers go in the trash, best way I found was to go and visit each office, speak with office manager if you can and leave a business card with your rates, turn around time, delivery, pickup etc....Then make a followup phone call a week or two later, and continue with 6 to 12 month followup. Once you get an account and they are happy, before long word of mouth will get you more work than you can handle. Good luck.
That is why they always are advertising nm

Into advertising now too?
I didn't know that. I will have to look into that some more and see what they are doing with that.
use their own advertising
This is great of proof of why American MTs are better and the physicians need us. You can tell them, or you can show them. If this major national can't even have correct copy on their advertising....
Quess web design doesn't go through QA.
Patti - Are you the one advertising for an IC and YOU
Big no-no. If you're specifying hours and rates, honey, you're an employer!!! PAY UP ON THE EMPLOYER ISSUES!!
Look, when you start advertising your own BOS, the
Administrators DO know about the AAMT and when they start with their advertisement of GLOBAL-wide acceptance, style guide, certification, education, etc., you'll be hard pressed to get business.
I'm just trying to give you a few ideas of what you're REALLY up against. THE industry standard. THE industry leader. THE recognized well-established with money to boot association who already has the global market.
You may find a few rogue MTs and small-time clinics here and there for your project.
Wasn't trying to come off as advertising
Hello guys, I'm sorry for the multiple posts today. I wasn't trying to come off as trying to advertise, especially since I'm not making any kind of money at all, just trying to be helpful. I didn't mean to come across as self-promoting or anything.
unfortunately not false advertising.
It says UP TO $60K. When I worked FT, I made that much. Ahhh, those were the days!
Cleveland Clinic was advertising for MTs for their Fla
the Ohio (main) clinic was at one time being transcribed by "that" other company but don't know if they do it any more.
I'm with you - a face transplant is very interesting!
Look up their clinic in Florida (extension) and see if they are still hiring. Let us know. :))
He wasn't advertising here--it was MT Jobs.

They keep advertising. Bad place to work
As if being Indian-based bad enough. No Thanks!!!
my, my, how hateful. That's good advertising...
for the AHDI. Ahem. Your grammar and structure are lovely and correct, though. I'm sure you passed the exam with flying colors.
I used to joke that every time I considered the CMT I got pregnant: end of CMT plans. In all seriousness, it's a lot of money to spend. I was chapter president of our local AAMT for a couple of years and I put in a lot of hours setting up stuff for the CMTs to get credits; it's quite frankly what it all revolved around. A lot of those women have spent a PILE of money over the years keeping current with their certification and I admire their tenacity. Not one of them that I know personally, however, has ever benefited monetarily or professionally by their CMT; it is a personal satisfaction only.
Unfortunately, it's not as simple as a forest/trees analogy nor as simple as a having a "grudge" against the AAMT - oh, excuse me, AHDI. There's been a lot of broken promises and dreams over the years and some people have real reason to be bitter about it.
The exam is a good one. I proctored an exam, I've looked at the materials, and I've seen what it takes to maintain. It's good stuff. But unfortunately, in the end, it's only for your own personal satisfaction. Different strokes.
Advertising policy of MTStars...
Many of you haven't noticed Advertising policy of MTStars lately.
http://www.mtstars.com/advertising.htm
No more sponsorships from MTSOs etc. The truth is being spoken on these boards and it always hurts. You can't remain sober if betrayed by some company or individual. You would have been speaking the same way if you were in their shoes.
I love MTStars for being unbiased (what people say nastiness). It's not like MTChat or MTDaily etc., where the posts are deleted and board owners are instructed to keep their & posters mouths shut for annual sponsorship of $500 by MTSOs.

They are still advertising the jobs on their website and in the newspaper
Quite a waste of money if they're downsizing. Oh, and did I mention - they just opened up a new clinic, which increased the work load by about one-third, and now they are building a second hospital?
Nope. Not downsizing.
I remember when they first started advertising sanitary napkins
That was many years ago and I was quite young and incredibly embarrassed. Somehow, I think things were better when we all had a lot more modesty.
Probably my imagination.
the history? nothing.. he is just advertising an Indian MT company and board
x
Could this be termed false advertising. Seems like a lot more people on the other board are saying
the same thing about MQ. If she is so religious as you claim why would she steer people to a company to have them not be able to pay their bills. Seems a bit odd to me.
Only by the mounds of junk mail every day...cc apps, advertising circulars, etc. nm

I just saw another MT site advertising a service that offshores that boasts the company as
transcription companies in the US! Of course, it doesn't surprise this long time MT considering the owner of the site highly promotes offshore transcription. I am disgusted and have canceled their newsletter.

I just started using "mydocsonline" - no extra fees unlike the one advertising above this - sm
Simple to use to, I only have 2 users so $99 for a year which is half the cost of most of the others, and HIPAA compliant, etc. Not sure how cost effective if you have a lot of doctors though, but I like the fact they give you so much space a month, you can save/delete whatever you want to do, no extra charges/mb or kb--metroscript is 14.95 a month (or more) and .34/megabyte of each upload, I would have ended up paying about $120 a month, forget that! I tried the free trial of mydocsonline and it works well for me.
This happened to me once. I had bought a Lanier transcribe unit from someone advertising over on SM
MT Daily. I sent her a money order for $500. She sent me one email after she received the money order saying she had sent the Lanier and of course I never received it and she didn't answer my emails for a week. Then she finally emailed again saying she had asked her daughter to send, but she hadn't and that she was going to ship the next day. Still I didn't receive it. At that point, she stopped answering my emails and eventually blocked me from being able to send me emails. I had her mailing address and phone number. Of course, she screened her calls and never answered the phone.
One thing people should know about MT's, we do our homework. I immediately researched what my legal options were and here is what I did:
1. I contacted the adminstrator of the website on which the original classified add appeared. They attempted to contact her to no avail.
2. I contacted the police departments in both her city and mine and filed a fraud report.
3. I then contacted the Attorney General's off in both her state and mine and immediately filed a report with each office. I was told that the claim would be investigated, but more than likely nothing would not come of one complaint, BUT if they received more than one complaint regarding fraudulent practices by the same business or individual, then they could file charges.
In the end, she made the mistake of forwarding one of those chain emails to everyone in her address book and mistakenly sent it to me. So, I had the email addresses of her business associates, co-workers, employers, friends, family. I promptly sent an email to everyone of them telling them exactly what she did to me and that they should be very careful in dealing with her.
I got several angry emails for people asking me not to include them in my email war. I apologized to those people and took them of the mailing list. However, three of the email contacts emailed me back and said they had bought stuff from her and never received the equipment. And finally, I received a very angry email from the perpetrator's other daughter. Apparently, her mother was freaked out about the fact that I had reported her to the police and the attorney general's office and I also let her know that I had made three other contacts ready to file with the attorney general's office which would probably get my case more notice. The daughter Western Unioned me my money within 24 hours.
Casey, I say break out the big guns and start shooting. That's what I did and it worked for me. You probably have the person's mailing address, so you know where he/she lives or at least what city and state he/she lives in. I wonder if we dealt with the same person? Is this person from Texas?
There are plenty of
dummies out there with degrees and certificates. You can do a halfbutt job all the way through and still get a degree with a C average.
they have plenty
I know 2 people who are relatively new and they are being recruited for it. It looks like they are putting people on it with very little experience since they are making less anyway.
i'm sure there must be plenty of those
there are also those who routinely accept Medicare assignment, write off balances, work 16 hour days, on call 7 days a week. Certainly there are national corporate executives obviously who are makin' it off the backs of MTs and, furthermore, we all try to increase our line counts using macros. But I say if her profit is so "out there" that she's feeling guilty about it by all means don't contribute to part of the problem thats wrong with America today which is general lack of morality. People who are simply trying to be honest and worry about what is right deserve to be heroes
There are plenty
of people who have gone through the legal process of becoming a US Citizen who are not US born. Yes, there are many MTs in the US who were born in India and are now US citizens who do MT work. There were several in my MT classes. I only use India as an example. There are many from several other overseas location who are now US citizens.
Yes they did. And there are plenty of
So?
Same here. There are plenty of men
.
We have plenty here.
That is never going to happen. Ever. There will always be people here illegally. I'm just not going to hate them for it.
I can have plenty of fun without that freakshow.

I have plenty to say, such as, Take It To A Blog. nm
:)
Plenty of work there.....
There is PLENTY of work at Amphion. I'm not sure who has been saying that they overstaff, but there is more than enough work to go around. In fact, right now there is overtime available, and they are in need of many more transcriptionists for new accounts.
Oh I "got" PLENTY. LOL. nm

I would think you should give them plenty of
...to find a replacement. Probably a couple of months. If they seem to be dragging their feet though, I would give them about four weeks. Just my thinking.... :)
I have plenty of friends...sm
that I know from different places, clubs included, but that doesn't mean that I'm having an affair with any of them...male or female! Before I was married my best friend and I went to a particular club to dance...it was great exercise and more fun than going to a gym. I made several friends there who are strictly friends. We were all single, enjoyed each other's company, and liked to dance...nothing nasty ever went on. In fact, many times my male friends made it easy to shake men whose attention I didn't want. Sometimes people go out just because it is more fun than watching TV. Hubby and I went to the club a couple of weeks ago and I introduced him to people that I knew there. I would hate to think that because I introduced him to people that he would think I'm having an affair. I don't know if I'd be more hurt because he didn't trust me, or because he thought I was dumb enough to take him someplace and introduce him to someone I would have an affair with!
I would also hate to think that my husband would search my cell phone and check the numbers he didn't recognize. My son is in the military and at times his friends have called because they consider me a second mom or are trying to get in touch with my son. Nevermind that just about everyone has had someone call their phone and it has been a wrong number!
If someone gave me a real reason to check up on them, I probably would, but to check up on someone 'just to be sure' is insulting. If someone I care about can't come to me and talk rationally about their fears, then we don't have much of a relationship!
and plenty want everything spoonfed to them...
no, plenty of jobs out there that
plus benefits. Keep looking.
I have plenty of bills to pay...
Hubby had open heart surgery and was off work during the busiest season last year. I now handle ALL the bills except his truck insurance and truck payment to the tune of at least $5000 a month and that doesn't include the $75,000 hospital bill that the insurance doesn't pay. I couldn't do that if I didn't stick to my guns. Sure, we're not in the best of shape right now, but we are scraping by with a little ingenuity and things will get better for us...but I surely will not work for peanuts, never have, and never will...and neither should you.
You have to prove you're worth it that extra $.01 or so,(ahem), but in reality, we really need to stick together. Fighting amongst ourselves doesn't solve the problem.
There are plenty of free ones out there.
You probably have some Spyware that has gotten on your computer. I run AVG constantly and then also run SUPERAntispyware Free Edition (Google it) and also Spybot Search and Destroy, each once a week. Between these 3, I seem to catch just about everything.
Post above is RIGHT ON. We have plenty sm
of people working here who type the most twisted garbage I've ever seen. I have QA'd Indian work before and most of them have a better grasp than many of the people I see in my job list day after day. My company isn't offshoring right now, but it wouldn't surprise me if they did. Many of the worst MTs have more than 20 years in, can you believe that? They've hidden themselves away, haven't kept up on the changes in transcription and they refuse to accept feedback and apply it.
At least you have plenty of work!
There are some MTs who are begging for work. Or what about all the people in the U.S. who are being laid off and are unemployed. I would be happy that I am employed and they are asking you to work extra.
MT companies negotiate with the insurance companies until they get what they want
It is strictly up to the agreement between the employer and the insurance company. Your new employer can tell you what the pre-existing clause is in your new policy. Some require proof of insurance for the past 12 months. It may say something like if a diagnosis has not been made NOR treatment received within the last __ months. Not good when companies negotiate with a pre-existing clause in order to get a lower rate. Better check with your HR with your new company before doing anything. It really gets hairy !
