There are still plenty of companies

that value patient safety more than their greed and don't use that awful VR. Find a better company.

There are plenty other companies out there...sm
You don't have to put up with this. Read the boards closely and check out the Jobs Forum. Best of luck to you.
There are still plenty of companies willing to pay for advertising
on the TV and radio. Besides, I'd never pay for radio or TV. That's just silly.
There are plenty of online companies set up this way also-nm
nm
I agree, but there are plenty of companies that don't - sm
Can still put food on the table working somewhere else.
Plenty of rad work out there - try the companies that specialize in it. sm
I have been with Keystrokes for 4 years and love it. I have radiology-only accounts, plenty of work and get paid well. The hospital I worked for outsourced to them and they hired me right away. Best move I ever made.
My sister is also an MT and works for another company doing rad but runs out, so be careful that the company you go with has a lot of rad-only accounts.
You idiot, there are plenty of jobs with companies that DON'T offshore. Go somewhere else and
quit your raggin on this board.
there are NOT plenty of companies who don't outsource, directly or indirectly.
as for you calling others "idiots" your credibility is gone. hope you are careful where you shop and what you buy regarding your loyalty to not participating in companies who offshore. good luck. hope you have plenty of time and plenty of money.
There are plenty of
dummies out there with degrees and certificates. You can do a halfbutt job all the way through and still get a degree with a C average.
they have plenty
I know 2 people who are relatively new and they are being recruited for it. It looks like they are putting people on it with very little experience since they are making less anyway.
i'm sure there must be plenty of those
there are also those who routinely accept Medicare assignment, write off balances, work 16 hour days, on call 7 days a week. Certainly there are national corporate executives obviously who are makin' it off the backs of MTs and, furthermore, we all try to increase our line counts using macros. But I say if her profit is so "out there" that she's feeling guilty about it by all means don't contribute to part of the problem thats wrong with America today which is general lack of morality. People who are simply trying to be honest and worry about what is right deserve to be heroes
There are plenty
of people who have gone through the legal process of becoming a US Citizen who are not US born. Yes, there are many MTs in the US who were born in India and are now US citizens who do MT work. There were several in my MT classes. I only use India as an example. There are many from several other overseas location who are now US citizens.
Yes they did. And there are plenty of
So?
Same here. There are plenty of men
.
We have plenty here.
That is never going to happen. Ever. There will always be people here illegally. I'm just not going to hate them for it.
I can have plenty of fun without that freakshow.

I have plenty to say, such as, Take It To A Blog. nm
:)
Plenty of work there.....
There is PLENTY of work at Amphion. I'm not sure who has been saying that they overstaff, but there is more than enough work to go around. In fact, right now there is overtime available, and they are in need of many more transcriptionists for new accounts.
Oh I "got" PLENTY. LOL. nm

I would think you should give them plenty of
...to find a replacement. Probably a couple of months. If they seem to be dragging their feet though, I would give them about four weeks. Just my thinking.... :)
I have plenty of friends...sm
that I know from different places, clubs included, but that doesn't mean that I'm having an affair with any of them...male or female! Before I was married my best friend and I went to a particular club to dance...it was great exercise and more fun than going to a gym. I made several friends there who are strictly friends. We were all single, enjoyed each other's company, and liked to dance...nothing nasty ever went on. In fact, many times my male friends made it easy to shake men whose attention I didn't want. Sometimes people go out just because it is more fun than watching TV. Hubby and I went to the club a couple of weeks ago and I introduced him to people that I knew there. I would hate to think that because I introduced him to people that he would think I'm having an affair. I don't know if I'd be more hurt because he didn't trust me, or because he thought I was dumb enough to take him someplace and introduce him to someone I would have an affair with!
I would also hate to think that my husband would search my cell phone and check the numbers he didn't recognize. My son is in the military and at times his friends have called because they consider me a second mom or are trying to get in touch with my son. Nevermind that just about everyone has had someone call their phone and it has been a wrong number!
If someone gave me a real reason to check up on them, I probably would, but to check up on someone 'just to be sure' is insulting. If someone I care about can't come to me and talk rationally about their fears, then we don't have much of a relationship!
and plenty want everything spoonfed to them...
no, plenty of jobs out there that
plus benefits. Keep looking.
I have plenty of bills to pay...
Hubby had open heart surgery and was off work during the busiest season last year. I now handle ALL the bills except his truck insurance and truck payment to the tune of at least $5000 a month and that doesn't include the $75,000 hospital bill that the insurance doesn't pay. I couldn't do that if I didn't stick to my guns. Sure, we're not in the best of shape right now, but we are scraping by with a little ingenuity and things will get better for us...but I surely will not work for peanuts, never have, and never will...and neither should you.
You have to prove you're worth it that extra $.01 or so,(ahem), but in reality, we really need to stick together. Fighting amongst ourselves doesn't solve the problem.
There are plenty of free ones out there.
You probably have some Spyware that has gotten on your computer. I run AVG constantly and then also run SUPERAntispyware Free Edition (Google it) and also Spybot Search and Destroy, each once a week. Between these 3, I seem to catch just about everything.
Post above is RIGHT ON. We have plenty sm
of people working here who type the most twisted garbage I've ever seen. I have QA'd Indian work before and most of them have a better grasp than many of the people I see in my job list day after day. My company isn't offshoring right now, but it wouldn't surprise me if they did. Many of the worst MTs have more than 20 years in, can you believe that? They've hidden themselves away, haven't kept up on the changes in transcription and they refuse to accept feedback and apply it.
At least you have plenty of work!
There are some MTs who are begging for work. Or what about all the people in the U.S. who are being laid off and are unemployed. I would be happy that I am employed and they are asking you to work extra.
MT companies negotiate with the insurance companies until they get what they want
It is strictly up to the agreement between the employer and the insurance company. Your new employer can tell you what the pre-existing clause is in your new policy. Some require proof of insurance for the past 12 months. It may say something like if a diagnosis has not been made NOR treatment received within the last __ months. Not good when companies negotiate with a pre-existing clause in order to get a lower rate. Better check with your HR with your new company before doing anything. It really gets hairy !
When I worked for them, there was plenty of work.
They are very disorganized, though, and I spent most of my day doing unpaid clerical work. They would make lots of promises to get me to stay and then not follow through with them.
yeah I get plenty of cherries when
you are sound asleep and I'm working at 2:00 am even though I have a day schedule because the evening people failed to show up AGAIN to do their work. Yeah I get the cherries after I finish Dr. noonecanunderstandme and his reports pile up from MTs that don't want to bother until the supe asks me to do 5 of his in a row and it takes me 4 hours to get 400 lines, so I have to work late to get my line count so other MTs get their cherries. I don't want my accounts going overseas and I'll do want I need to do to protect their TAT and quality and my employer look good.
Gessh, bad attitudes are contagious...have a cherry instead.
d~
We got plenty and adding new accounts every day it seems - nm

There are plenty more jobs if you have a degree
I live in Atlanta. If you go to craigslist.org right now and look under the admin. jobs section...there are dozens of jobs that pay 50,000 or more if you have a degree...in anything.
There are many jobs in many different fields that pay well. In many many cases, they just want the person to have a degree, it doesn't matter in what. The ad just says...must have a bachelor's degree.
I'm currently an MT and will graduate in May with a degree in Psychology. I intend to apply for some of those 50,000+ administrative jobs and feel very confident that I will get one.
there R plenty of states where parents....n/m

There are plenty of QA people that have no business being QA.
Definitely military time has no colon!
Here is what our company does that works great! We bcc: the entire QA staff and supervisors any feedback we give the MTs. That way if we see something that is incorrect, we can say something about it to the QA person. We all have a very good rapport so no offense is taken hopefully. We usually provide a reference to anything we see that might be incorrectly given to the MT. This allows QA to know what is being told to the MTs. This also means less differences in feedback is given to the MTs and that means a lot to the MTs. The biggest complaint I know is the fact that QA staff give different feedback and it is essential that QA stay on the same page.
If more companies adopted this policy, I believe we would have happier MTs!
Well that's not true! Plenty of reasons
to check other reports! Maybe you are typing a DS and you can't understand a drug. You suspect it will be listed on the H&P, so you check there. Not there? Check the consult report. Or say you are doing an OP report and the dictator is slurring. You suspect this means he always says the same thing, so you look at some of his other OP reports for a similar report. Sure enough, you find a report with the same wording, so now you can make a normal. No HIPAA violation for doing research.
plenty of american docs do the same....nm

well, plenty of doctors get jobs and don't know
English. I'm beginning to believe there are no physicians who are actually English speaking as a primary language anymore. They're almost all ESL.
There may be plenty of work, but that's not the issue. -sm
The issue is having to compete with low foreign wages & standards of living. In order to continue to afford to live in this country, especially some of the more expensive states. Granted, I have no problem with seeing people in other countries get ahead, but not at the expense of those of us in THIS country.
Totally agree! there are plenty of us MTs here..sm
who WANT to work but will NOT be degraded to work for "pennies." Pay a decent rate and you will have more MTs than you can shake a stick at.
Good pay will = great MTs and plenty
x
I type each weekend and plenty then
more than during the week.
Seems there are plenty of flaky transcriptionists...sm
out there. I have been working for the same MTSO as an IC for approximately 12 years. During that time, I have found in talking with the owner that there are plenty of transcriptionists out there who don't do the work when they are supposed to, call at the very last minute to say that they won't be able to do the work (which is okay sometimes, but some people do this weekly). They will start the job and last two weeks and then disappear off the face fo the earth. They make the same st*pid mistakes over and over and over and over. My company has a real appreciation for the few of us who actually do an excellent job for them and we are treated with great respect. We get the best accounts and when something happens where we need extended time off (like having a baby!), they will make sure someone can cover our accounts without making us feel guilty. Good luck with your company. I hope you find some good people to work for you! P.S. Apparently "st*pid" is a bad word on this board!
I agree that what you need is plenty of practice
You need to concentrate on learning medical transcription before you try anything like Dragon NaturallySpeaking. BTW, DNS cannot type directly from an audio file unless the program has been trained for that particular dictator's voice. You would have to repeat what they are saying and then recognize if DNS makes a mistake, something you wouldn't know unless you are an experienced MT. Not a good idea at this point.
Why not? There are plenty of reliable resources
There are also other search engines. I am not trying to be rude, I really don't understand why you cannot work without Google.
I was thinking the same thing. Plenty of
And PS: There's plenty of temp. work out there!
.
Yes, you'll have plenty of warning. sm
You still likely have several months left in your home. They'll give you opportunities to catch up on payments and/or find a way to refinance; once you speak with the bank and if it becomes apparent it won't work that way, they tell you you have such-and-such amount of time, i.e., 90 days. My mom is going through this right now. They then send you plenty of legal paperwork. You can get a stay on it if you can afford the lawyer for that; that's a whole other story. You get a definite 30-day notice to vacate.
Keep in mind that you have plenty of time...
...so do not rush. Before you finish each part (there are 2 of them), go back over and check your answers. Good luck!
Plenty of room here! Your thoughts are as valid as all the others.
.
Yes....except I'd go for steak, that way I'd have plenty of food and energy
