Some have a software program that is a conduit from the handheld to the computer. Some have USB drives built into them (the best, IMO) that you simply put in a computer USB drive and the unit is seen as a hard drive. It just depends on which one they have. I would suggest the built-in USB ones, as they are just a drag and drop philosophy. MUCH easier to teach someone to use.
