I most certainly never docked an MT a single dime SM
for errors or blanks. That is completely insane (I know companies do it, and my hospital used to do it till I took the helm).
Anybody can anonymously 'drop a dime'
on anyone in this type of situation - relatives, nosy (possibly vindictive) neighbors, a nurse in the ER who doesn't think the doc is doing his duty, store security, people in a public parking lot who only get a license plate number. Obviously the more detailed and specific the information, the more seriously the report will be taken.
Doctors are obligated to report if they suspect abuse and if what the doc dictated led you to suspect abuse, the doc probably did as well. There's just no telling if he actually did follow through on this. Generally, when I have transcribed such a report the doc has actually said that a report would be made to the proper agency. It's right in the report.
The doctor's account of the situation would carry far more weight than yours, especially as you would be unable to give many details. If you decide to make the call, don't forget to block caller ID on it. If you don't subscribe to that feature for all your calls, dial *67 before dialing the number. That way nothing should come back to bite you. It's only self-protection.

I'd have no problem at all postponing the training time with THEM, since they had already done it to ME! The kids are only kids for so long, and I think it would be more important to honor a promise made to them for swimming night, than to be further strung along by the company. The people at your new job are perfect examples of what happens if people grow up not learning to honor their promises & commitments. So in your same shoes, I'd keep my promise to the kids, which will help them to learn to keep theirs, as well. And I'd tell the MTSO what time is convenient for ME to have them train me. They deserve nothing more until they've earned it.
My DH paid every dime of his bachelor's degree working....
36 hours a week and going to school. How did he do it? He didn't get involved in serious relationships because knee he would get sidetracked and wouldn't have the time to devote to school. It also helped that he lived in California where state college tuition is reasonable. For his master's degree, he borrowed the money from his father (only about 4,000) and paid every cent back right away (this was after we were married and had 2 kids).

Nickel and dime accounts/misc charges
I do not nickel and dime my accounts to death. What I charge per line covers my time of delivery, printing, cutting apart chart notes, reruns when needed, etc. If you hit them with this charge and that charge they very well could look elsewhere that just gives one price for everything, all included. Simplicity. Sure just like now I scanned a tape to do a STAT H&P for surgery but the doctor did it on the hospital line and did not write it down as he usually does, yes it took me 10 to 15 minutes but will I charge them NO. WHY because yesterday I made $130 in less than two hours on their account and I received my checks one day after invoicing. I invoice on the 25th, receive check today and it was due until the 1st. And also they treat me like one of the team and appreciate what I do. But you do what you need to do but if you keep it simple without all the extra charges, they will like you better. You have to figure your nonbillable time into your rate. Good luck. Patti

I can NOT sing either, but after a couple of drinks I will. I refuse to go alone or duet with a guy. I have found that going up in a group helps. You can still sing, but let other people help. I used to go often, but it has been awhile. I suggest trying it just once. In a group is the safest. It really is fun.

However, I'm not going to shop there because what comes around, goes around. If I don't support the other small businesses in my area, they won't support my business or my husband's business.

His story is actually very interesting. I know he is abrasive at first adn the wife is a real piece of work, but they really do try to help the people they round up. Dog is a born-again Christian, and he tries to help the people straighten their lives out, isn't in it just for the case. In fact, his own son is in jail for 20 years because of drugs, and so he has a personal motivation for getting drug dealers off the streets. I never miss the show, I find him inspiring because he found his nitch in the world to try to work for good. Unconventional, but he really sincerely tries.

Good for you!! We are the same as far as paying with cash.
It was (and still is occasionally) hard to be patient and save for what you want instead of using credit, but it is so, so, so worth it!! Nothing like peace of mind and not being "owned" by creditors and employers. Best of luck to you and thanks for sharing. 
Is it unheard of to cash in PTO with national?
I have 75 hours of PTO and wonder if the national I am with (starts with an S and ends with an S) would allow me to cash it in? This thought just occurred to me so will call HR when I have time to but just wondered if anyone has done this and is it an unreasonable request.

my husband passed away in january. I need the promotion or I have to get a second job and I thought to work at home would be good because I still have a 15 year old at home. home line is there is a variable rate with a home equity line of credit. The refi with cash out finance rate is 4.625% right now.

Those are the only two office stores we have within an hour drive of me. Which models in particular would you recommend??? I do need to keep the price down, whether I buy them or the doctor's office does.

I tell him it's canner music. I've listened to AC/DC for 25 years, but I listen to a lot of other types of music, too. (Angus rules!) My son's learning to play electric guitar and he likes all those old rock bands.
Unless you work in a bank or at a cash register,
doubt they would do a credit check. I remember telling my employer during my interview about my Ch13, explaining the surgery, the divorce, the agony...she sat there and then said "we don't do credit checks." This was at a major hospital. Background checks only.

the poster below I usually get a 20% discount, but you have to call around to find out who will give it to you. My DD had to have an MRI last year and I got a big discount on that too by calling around.
Originally, insurance was intended for hospitalization, not regular doctor visits. I dont know how it evolved into this monster we have now, but it sure has driven the cost up.

My office is in my home and, God forbid, there should be a fire, I'd be out of business. I have coverage for my computer, printer, fax, phones and loss of use on a separate rider. Also, should anyone injury themselves coming or going from my office while doing business with me, their injuries are covered. Perhaps this is the information you're looking for.

with direct deposit, we are not given the choice to cash it or deny it. Wonder how that direct deposit affects that choice.

For extra cash I just started donating blood plasma SM
to BioLife, owned by Baxter. They pay about $50 a week for this (put on debit card). Does anyone else do this, and what other things like this is anyone aware of? It's not as gross as it sounds, just like giving blood, and they separate your plasma from the blood and give you your blood back.

Docs, like us, have busy family lives. I found that after Hannukah and Christmas (or sometimes with a break from family stuff) they "catch up" on dictation. Hopefully, this is what still happens. I have a son who is a professional and he likes to go in on Christmas Eve morning because it's so "slow" that he can get a lot of paperwork done. So hang in. Another aspect of today's world is that docs are carrying laptops now as is my family PCP and they are all doing their own notes. I think it's a "wait and see" thing, the world is changing and hopefully there is a survival tool for us somewhere. We are all being replaced by technology, sadly. Only time will tell. I was told several years ago that I should go into "scoping" which is kind of like editing, etc., you go into public stenographers machine gibberish and make sense out of it, kind of like making sense out of what comes back from India. I was offered this but refused to clean up someone else's "mess." Everyone should be thinking of alternative ways to get by, it's never easy. It's sad, as I have put a lot of time and $$$ into a profession that doesn't appreciate my knowledge. From your posts, Blondie, you have a good heart. I hope things get better for you. Try to have a happy holiday. How did you make out with those dogs you took in? Did the owner take them back or at least pay you? This may be an alternative few extra bucks for you. You seem to be an animal lover and a caring person.I don't live near you, but I would rather leave my Golden with you than some kennels around here. Thus, I do not go away if I can't take my dog. Hope things pick up for you work-wise.

there to be locked up. The banks are scampering around if you notice. They have written notices that they can raise your interest rate to 28% or more for just about no reason on the credit cards. I think they have let way too much money borrowed out be on the books, and now the little man is having to pay either with money, or his financial credit.
If you read about GOLD, gold is selling for a lot, all over the world, even in this supposed stable time. That's a sign they say that things aren't as steady as the powers that be want you to believe.
