Does anyone else have trouble reading this post and previous one from this poster?
It is hard to read when correct punctuation, etc. is not used. I know everyone returns to work. I am just saying that it would be nice not to return to 40 hrs worth of typing & it be expected to be caught up on the day I return. Call me crazy, but I believe there are only 24 hrs/day. I may not be able to read this post well, but I can do math! It is also not fair for them to dump all my work on 1 other person. Jobs come & go, but children grow up & life is too short. I would like to thank those who posted support & compassion & hope when this poster needs help, you will overlook her insensitivity & give support anyway.

I know this is a legal question but just curious as to individual experience.
Briefly, I know someone who will be filing for a divorce. In the meantime, she bought another house (out of state). She is hoping that her future ex-hubby does not find out so he does not get 1/2 ownership. etc. It is my understanding that LEGALLY she MUST hand over ALL financial documentation up front for the attorneys. Her banker told her it was not necessary? (I question his integrity)Personally, I think she's nuts and could get into a lot of trouble. Thanks everyone.

See, I do this several days in the payperiod and it adds up. In fact, it adds up so much that I already have my next month's budget made! Now I'm working for FUN money and for SAVINGS (so I won't have to whine and complain if I decide I want to leave -- I'll be able to afford to!).
Fill out the complaint forms on QNet. Write them a letter. The phone calls won't get it because those cannot be documented.
BE BRAVE. DO SOMETHING. Be your best advocate, your own best friend, for cryin' out loud. PROTECT YOURSELF and your family.
There you go. Get another job...maybe one in addition to MQ or one in place of MQ but try another company out. Fill out a complaint form. Write a letter to Frank and actually mail it. Do something PROFESSIONAL about your PROFESSIONAL problems. Just do something...other than sit here and whine about the same problem.
You're not paralyzed, you know. If you can find your way to this board and type your little wimpy posts, you can certainly type out a complaint form and/or a letter and drop it in the mail. You can apply for another job. You can interview. You CAN do this work, right????????

I have worked with people who have requested
to be off certain accounts because of their religious beliefs and not wanting to transcribes procedures they were not comfortable doing, but not because the doctors were too hard.
I personally have almost 30 years in this business and still have trouble with certain docs, but others do them without problem. There is almost always 1 or 2 doctors on an account that nobody wants to do for variosu reasons, but I just stick it out and believe that it will make and has made be a better MT in the long run.
TASP recommendations requested
Can any IC's recommend a really inexpensive, easy to set up TASP that offers digital and phone? I have used Emdat and like it, but it is expensive. I have used Bayscribe and love it, but their spellchecker is worthless. Something that works with MS Word would be great. Recommendations?

I used to get some really good stuff from Europe, but now its no longer available unless you go to a doctor. They must have patented and bought it to make money! Go to Sally's!

Laser hair removal?
Anybody ever gotten it before? I'm seriously considering it for my upper lip (and maybe chin where there are a few isolated hairs).
I've had electrolysis before, but never saw any improvement over months and months (and lots of $). Even though laser is expensive, I think it'll come out the same or cheaper than electrolysis. And electrolysis was very painful! This is supposed to be a bit painful, but not so bad.
Please share IF you've had laser. What area of the body? How long did it take? Has it been permanent for you?

I have spent thousands of dollars on this for my daughter - three different types of lasers and the problem is still there - and at one point even got worse. Be certain that you aren't having a hormonal problem and that you are not part of an ethnic group where women naturally have more hair - it didn't work for my daughter.

We have spent thousands and I mean thousands of dollars on laser hair removal for my daughter and it would work for about a couple of months and then the hair would grow back worse than ever. We have tried three different lasers and no one gives you a guarantee - so if they try to - don't buy it - read the small print before you sign. I know it is a frustrating situation - it also hurts. Electrolysis didn't work for her either, and she stays upset about this all the time.

Any of you ever had to have an ovarian cyst removed? I'm told I need to have a left ovary cyst removed, along with the left ovary. If anyone has been through this, I am interested in what to expect recovery wise? It is a simple process where you are up and about within a day or so? I can't afford to be out of work more than a day or so, so I am a little worried. Any advice? Thanks!
Surgical removal of a baby????
I had that one yesterday and thought how strange to work delivery that way. If you ever work on Escription you will get a lot of laughs - it is voice recognition and I have had a ROS that said the man came in through the garage until the cat fell from the sky - have no idea what that was supposed to mean.

What is the best product for removal upper lip hair? I have tried Sally Hansen but not much luck. I have not tried bleaching yet because I really would prefer to have it gone! Before I spend more money, can you tell me what works for you? Thanks much.

I recently requested time off for the first time...
(3 days off) and gave 2 weeks notice but was asked by my boss to give more notice next time. I thought 2 weeks was decent, but next time I will give at least 30 days.
Laser Hair Removal (for dark hair)
I've tried Epilators (basically an electronic tweezer) and wax, but nothing beats Laser HR. It's a bit pricy and takes a few treatments to be 100% effective, but definitely works.

Anyone out there able to give me step-by-step instructions on how to enter the dictionary for MS Word to remove a word I entered incorrectly? I'd appreciate any help at all. I know this can be done, because I did it myself years ago, but cannot remember how I did it. TIA.

God, I thought I was the only one that could understand the simple fact that we have access to SSN numbers, insurance numbers (which a lot of times are SSN) and we are given computers and equipment that we could turn around and resell.
Apparently only one Transcriptionist in the whole US has been in trouble for identity theft. The rest of us must be honest folks. And yes, I am being sarcastic.

Poster must be new to this board. For us "old timers" we remember the Terry S posts from awhile ago and how that took up most of the board.
This board is NOT just for MT, but a place for MTs to visit and ask, talk, vent, discuss, buy, sell, ask for help, look for new jobs, send a funny joke, etc.
It's a great board.
If you don't like it, then go elsewhere. There are plenty of MT chat boards out there, but this, by far is the best.

It's just I normally don't work until after 10 p.m. or so, so they are not used to "indoor behavior" until then.
The 25yo is building a computer so he was updating me on every little thing.
The 21yo is his girlfriend (the one talking in the hall).
And the 18yo in my college daughter who just got her first B in English (all A's until now) and she had to give me all the details...
You know they do grow up, but they're still young 'uns I guess.
I just needed to eek out a few more lines before I turned into a pumpkin, so I was slightly stressed. Getting piece of crap dictators didn't help.

I am not a big fan of DQS - however, what this poster says
is true. It is manipulated by the account manager, the client, or whoever.
I worked on DQS for another company and it did count spaces and my line counts were correct. It does not count anything you put into the header or searches such as patient account number, etc. That is time spent not paid for, in my opinion. Don't like the spell check or Expander either.
I transcribe 300-400 lines per hour in Word-based programs and WP5.1. With DQS, I too could not get above 200 lines per hour. Very frustrating to say the least. I thought it was me getting slow or old or something, but went back to my old platform, and poof - 300-400 lines per hour again.
I don't know what it is, but something is not right with that program.
I can honestly say, I hate that program! But to each their own. Good luck whatever you decide.

I just couldn't let my original job go until I was 100% sure I would like the new one. Actually, I ended up keeping both part time instead of one full time. I like this better because I don't have all my eggs in one basket so to speak. If I ever need extra work, all I have to do is ask and I NEVER run out of work.
