The other sites might as well not exist

In Reply to: Why not? Other MT boards refer people here all the time? - ?
They are so self censored that they won't give a company's name, so they might as well not exist. MTStars is the best board on the internet for FREEDOM OF INFORMATION. Posters may say that people are negative on this board, but they are honest and realistic. The other boards are so full of Pollyannas they are virtually worthless -- INCLUDING boards you have to pay by the month.

Good luck
We DO exist, really we do!!
We work long hours.
We glady take the ESLs that others find hard or impossible to transcribe.
We go the extra mile when you are behind to help you get caught up because we all know if the client is not happy, none of us will be making any money.
We don't need endless emails from your QA telling us where to put a hyphen or a semicolon. In fact, we probably do not even take up much QA time at all.
Yes, we are out there. And we are working hard, getting paid a very good cpl rate because our MTSO(s) appreciate us and pay us well.
Here's hoping that when and if, for whatever reason, one of us is looking for a position, we will meet up with you and it will be a MATCH!
You may be able to recognize us by our lack of enthusiasm in our accomplishments. Because we realize that our resumes speak for us and our tests will stand out.
yes these cases exist, but
in very small number compared with the legitimate serious cases; and the legitimate cases, as another here said, are still just the very TIP of the iceberg.
It dont exist
!
because it doesn't exist either!
!!
Yes, they exist.. Just sign it and put the past behind you.
x
But if what they are dictating doesn't even exist.... ? nm

Without the MTs, the site would cease to exist.

To MOMT-to me *normal* does not exist
*normal* means one has a preconceived idea of what *sanity* is....
Everyone has got a story - there is not a family out there that does not have some kind of *story* - crosses all socioeconomic levels too......it's not just an urban blight thing - it has crossed all levels of society/cultures/religions et cetera......I don't need to tell any of you, I'm sure you are all seeing the changes from decade to decade just like the rest of us! Sad world, indeed.
The Amish are the most peaceful.....they keep their doors unlocked. THIS last thing was THE STRAW BREAKING THE CAMEL'S BACK in my mind!!! Geesh....and a milkman no less.....an area where milk is still delivered to people's doorsteps (I grew up with that happening but haven't seen THAT in decades). Terrible world, little optimism (what with all these *politics*), very sad, indeed.
Does Cbay still exist? I haven't seen

Corruption does exist in this business.
I recall working for YOG. When it was purchased by MQ, my account suddenly became unrecognizable. It was apparent that one MT was getting the majority of the quick-money work, namely canned reports for a surgeon who did nothing else but. They are the cream of the crop and one day, they suddenly stopped coming to us. It was always the same MT who received them and then, it was clear the jobs were being assigned. Only one MT appeared to increase production and was making a ton of money comparatively speaking.
The rumour of kick backs floated around, with the MT kicking back a portion of their income to the person assigned to job allocation. At the same time, MQ was tweaking the line count. We all watched our incomes decline except for this particular MT.
It would be prudent if managers would observe income levels of individual MTs and if there is a sudden increase or decrease for any length of time that is out of the ordinary, an audit of the account take place by an objective staff member.
Being paid by piece work leaves us all vulnerable to manipulation should the account managers have freedom from scrutiny.
In this case we all were at the mercy of unscrupulous individuals as there was no oversight of the account manager.
There's your proof- zombies exist!
Healthy necrotic tissue. Yep, must be zombies. I'll have to remember to tell my hubby, as he loves all things zombie. HA!!!
In other words - the main board should not even exist then.
nm
It does exist; however, not everyone makes the same. I am paid for my experience and quality. nm

Thanks. Just checking out options in case SE does not exist anymore next year for MQ. I dont really
need benefits and dont really want to be an employee with set hours and the amount of hours you can work. I dont know what part time employee will be because it does not exist now but just checking around. Thanks all. Of course, no one knows what the cpl will be next year for MQ either. I dont know how many hours part time employees are allowed to work and still be considered part time or how they monitor that.
It has nothing to do with sites..
Check with your ISP, modem or phone line.

FTP sites...
Does anyone know of any FTP sites that do not have a user fee? I am currently using a software that charges me 0.025 cpl and I find it's a ripoff. I really don't make any money off this software, AND I paid an arm and a leg for this software. Can anyone tell me where I can find an FTP site that does not charge a user fee? TIA.
OB/GYN sites
Can someone tell me of some good OB/GYN sites out there? For that matter, any good specialty sites. I'm fairly new to transcription and still gathering good reference sites.
Thanks in advance!

It's right on their Web sites...
Visit this site, read paragraph 2 and notice the word global. It doesn't appear they are trying to hide anything.

Some different sites here too . .
These help me:

For Orthopedics: Really great site. Can use search box or click on any part of the skeleton. *Wheeless On Line* -- http://www.wheelessonline.com/

For Clinical Trials - http://www.clinicaltrials.gov/
Those are some of what I use all the time.
thanks a lot for these sites
I appreciate you taking the time to give them to me!
But, I can access all other web sites
So, would it really be my Internet Explorer causing the problem???
I use to go to this one web site where I could always log on even during them updating the site but many others could not - some could, some could not. I just have a feeling this may be the same type of thing - something with the website itself or else I would have problems with other websites, wouldn't I? I can access any other website I want but this particular one - wwww.weightwatchers.com
I thought maybe I needed to clean out my cache or whatever as they may have changed something where it keeps using something on my computer that is old/no longer valid in order to access the site but wouldn't everything I have done so far have eliminated a possible problem such as that??? I did not actually go in and delete anything in any cache so I don't know if that may need to be done yet and, if so, I have no idea where to go and/or which one(s) I need to do that with.
Thanks so much for trying to help. I sincerely appreciate it.
Any of you pet lovers seen these sites?

So cute, and so addicting!
Thanks for the sites. I have a question...
I have avoided calling Dell to ask for help with certain issues because I cannot understand them. If I ask them to transfer me to a US office, will they?
cancer sites
I usually use the NIH-National Cancer Institute site. It has listing of clinical trials, types of drugs, different types of cancer treatments. I also depend heavily on the Oncology Word Book by Stedman.
if they use the BOS on offshore sites.
If so, the AAMT must be making a killing.
I just checked out both of these sites and
there is no rsp.com and the other said the site was under construction. I have heard that VA jobs are the jobs to have, though. Good luck!!
At my clinical sites,...sm
the physicians' handwritten orders are transcribed by the unit clerk into the MAR (medication administration record), or if they are using Meditech they get transcribed into Meditech, again by the unit clerk. Nurses are very savvy on drugs and doses and are expected to question anything that is, well, questionable. A nurse is liable for administering the wrong drug even if the doc ordered it wrong. Both clinical sites I have been at so far were Magnet status - that is a hospital that has undergone extensive credentialing to show superior nursing care. Magnet hospitals have the lowest nurse:patient ratio, which has been directly linked with less deaths and better patient care... just my two cents.
Drug sites
What are some favorite drug sites? Thanks in advance.

Otherwise I posted some suggestions about how to break out on your own in another thread on the main board ... why don't you try to get your own clients instead of working for an MTSO.
PS: If you're in Nebraska, disregard above ... j/k!! :)
Free FTP sites
