Continuing Education
Does anyone know where I can get affordable continuing education to keep my CMT? I need 20 hours before this time next year.
By continuing education, do you mean (sm)
the credits you need to renew your CMT credential? If you are an AAMT member, there are articles in the organization's publications whereby you can earn CEC credits. M-Tec (on line) has a skillbuilding wizard whereby you can earn credits. Is there a local AAMT chapter in your area? This is the easiest way to earn credits, i.e., attending their symposia to earn credits. E-mail me if you need more info.

go to Google and search for conditions of participation. Then look at JCAHO GUIDELINES but they are harder to find, it takes some searching. CofP mirrors JCAHO and vice versa. There is one under medlaow.com that explains the regulations, dates they went into effect, etc. If this guy is doing the surgery in a hospital setting he is in deep doo doo for doing what he is doing and so is the MR dept. for not making him comply. There are processes to make them comply up to and including taking away surgery rights to practice at that facility.

This is about business, also. Phone companies aren't laying fiberoptic to rural communities, and we have both a national and a local problem with this, as people on this board living in rural areas will attest.
This is something that I do know something about, having been trained in this subject matter by telco engineers. I don't know what position your husband held, but it definitely wasn't a telco engineer or we wouldn't be hearing this crap.

I am sure your head is spinning with what to do and how to do it. You need to plan this out, but do not delay. I know from personal experience how expensive it is to be on your own, but consider this. He is not working right now, so he is more of a financial burden and liability than anything else. There are many ways to support yourself and your children. First and foremost, consider moving back home near your family. Family pitches in at times of need. I am sure they want you out of there. Do not be proud. ASK FAMILY FOR HELP. That is how I got my new start. Make an appointment immediately with legal aid and find out what your options are. Under no circumstances DO NOT LET HIM HAVE THE CHILDREN. You will never get them back if you do. He will say you abandoned them.
This jerk you are married to has brainwashed you to the point where you think you cannot survive financially without him. You are entitled to legal aid, and food stamps for your children until you get back on your feet no matter if you stay where you are or move closer to your family.
Ask yourself this question when in doubt...Is he your last hope? Of course he isn't. He is your road to a dead-end life. Sorry. I just hate men like him. Even though we are strangers to you, you need to listen to voices of experience. Some of us have been in your shoes. By the way, what state do you live in and how far is your family?

I have a doc who does it ALL THE TIME. Last week she must have been exhausted because she had some HUGE yawns and I had to leave QA markers. QA was not able to figure them out either. Makes no sense to me....just stop talking while you are yawning. Geez!!!!

Does 2nd place get any monetary prize? m
I know they get $4000 for each week they're in the house and then $5000 for each week in sequestor but I wondered if 2nd place got $100,000 or something or just their regular weekly amount (which isn't too shabby!) I think the girls need to be the final two. I think Will, annoying as he is, played much better than Boogie because Boogie didn't really play! He just did what Will told him and road on his coattails. I can barely stand to look at Boogie. He's so vile and disrespectful and something about him just repulses me. I don't mean to sound mean, but he just really repulses me, probably because of the extra footage of him I've seen on the internet. It's pretty disgusting. Anyhow, I hope it's the girls in the final two because at least they played and Boogie just followed Will.

Any help would be so appreciated. sm
Starting a new account and it is using a Dictaphone c-phone. I have never used this type of machine and told them that when I took on the account. The office provided me with a Dictaphone Voice Processor Connexions phone, Model 421, and it has the headset and foot pedal connected to the phone itself.
I have managed to program the dial-in number successfully (yeah).
Their office manager is not helpful or knowledgeable about this at ALL. She just looks at me and says, "I have no clue about anything to do with the transcription."
When I call into the dictation server, it rings, connects, beeps once, and then sits there. I have looked at the instruction book (or a partial one that was given to me - book is ripped in half) and have tried the command #*18 to go into transcribe mode, but press the pedal and nothing happens, but I do hear three beeps.
In one part of the book, it says to program a quick access key to "sign off and get next" by using the number 8. I have also done this, but still - just three beeps.
Please help me - I am clueless. Always used FTP with digital recorders or Lanier, but never Dictaphone.

Burnt out and under appreciated
I can relate. My income is decreasing, my hours are increasing. My son is making more as a security guard at the local casino. I'm so tired at night I can't do anything. I think we all need vacations, if we could afford one.
It is SO nice to be appreciated by somebody!
I am so glad to see that somebody realizes these ESLs are practically impossible to understand, as the "higher-ups" in these outfits don't have a clue what we have to put up with, and they think our job is so easy-- we are "just typists", you know. I am just finishing up a very long night shift and you have made my day. Thanks again!

We're just gonna ride it out. It's been 9 hours and he's still going. I did get him to agree to try to nibble a cracker and DH is bring home ginger ale and Gatorade was recommended by the NP, so we'll try that and maybe a popsicle and dry toast. Thanks for all the help. Say a prayer for us as we ride this out and pray I don't get it after him.
I really appreciated my dictator just now.
At the end he said, "This is <his name> bumbling through this again. Thank you so very much."
Guess it makes me at least feel a little appreciated.
