have anyone in the car with them other than an immediate relative for the first 6 months they have their license. Other than that there is no way I'd put my child into the car of basically a stranger since you don't know this boy well. While all may be innocent at first you never know when it might turn otherwise.

Thankfully, yes
There are so many kids and stay-at-home moms that at any given time there could be up to 15 kids outside of all ages with at least a few adults who look after all the kids. It's definitely a family neighborhood here, everyone watches out for everyone. I'm also right by the front window so I'm constantly looking out and seeing what's going on. I pop out every once and a while to chat.
24 and very thankfully divorced before 30!

Thankfully I'm not thin-skinned.

My understanding was that she didn't want to search blindly for schools, and I think it's convenient how there are links right here to some of the best schools, because their websites give you an EXCELLENT idea of their courses. When anybody asks me about schools, that's all I give them, the web addresses, because I think they are self-explanatory. I have no idea if the OP ever noticed those links were there, and I doubt you knew (if he/she did), either!
dilemma with teenager
I have a 14-year-old daughter who is on an athletic team that practices after school every day. We live in a rural area and it is a 15 mile round trip to pick her up. A neighbor boy who just got his license a week ago has offered to bring her home as he goes right by our house. We have had a rule that she is not allowed to ride with boys in a car alone yet but with the price of gas, I'm wondering if I should rescind that rule. I don't really know the boy well so I'm uneasy about it. Any thoughts on this?
dilema with teenager
I wouldn't let her!!
In some states it is illegal for a new teenager driver to drive for the first six months with anybody but licensed over 18 family members. Check your new driver rules in your state.
Teenager daughters
Thank you Terri for your encouragement. I will definitely keep your suggestions in mind.
Teenager troubles.
Boy, do I know what you're going through. Daughter is talented, intelligent and athletic. We have always been strict but she is allowed so many extra activities that we provide the opportunity for her to do. Everything going for her and still tries to defy us. She is down to no phone, no car and go nowhere without us.
Please. You sound like a teenager. LOL
Like OP suggests: Go live over there if you're upset about it and live with them and do all you can to increase their economy.
Yes, I do come first, thankfully. I have a good man with his priorities straight! sm
Marriage is a difficult road sometimes with many obstacles. We just have to have the patience and strength to get over them or move those obstacles out of the way. I think early in our marriage, I was not #1, as his mother had a very tight hold... but I am now and have been for about 10 years now. We were married for 18 years November 14th, and the first 7-8 years were very tough at times, but it is smooth sailing now!
We remind each other that before the kids, it was him and me and we take at least one night a week for each other to be together and romantic.
He does put be first above all and won't make plans without asking me if it interferes with our family plans or schedule. The best thing of all, every day before he goes to work he always kisses me on the cheek goodbye, even when I am half asleep. I open my one eye just to acknowledge him and go back to sleep! I just love that.
Thankfully we are no longer classified as just clerical.
"Medical transcriptionists have finally achieved a separate job classification. The revised Standard Occupational Classification (SOC), published by the Office of Management and Budget, includes a separate line item 31-9094 for medical transcriptionists in the general arena of health care. This is something AAMT has been promoting since its inception over 20 years ago. In the previous (1980) SOC document, medical transcriptionists were grouped with court reporters and stenographers under "Clerical and Other Administrative Support Occupations." This separate classification is truly noteworthy. Having an ID number, medical transcriptionists can now be studied like any other occupation. Statistics can be gathered on numbers of MTs, salaries, etc." (from the AAMT website)
This is one of the good things AAMT has done for us and hopefully their continued work will elevate our profession further. We are now an apprenticeable occupation also (and only DOMESTIC workers can be apprentices --heh heh!).
Thankfully, self-employed so I don't have to deal with the likes of you.
What an arrogant bitchy know-it-all you think you are. You are laughable. I'm sooo beyond you. Later.
Teenager dress problems
My oldest graduated last year and started dressing in black (mostly black t-shirts and jeans) in his junior year. This drove my DH absolutely crazy and still does! We never had any trouble with him in school either; good grades, part-time job, never ran with the wrong crowd, always called to keep in touch when he was out, etc., just like your daughter. We let it go. He never wanted any tattoos, collars or piercings (although he did buy a bracelet with the metal points once. He never wore this to school however.) The biggest problem we ever had was the kind of music he liked to listen to. We did forbid him to buy certain types and bands after we listened to them, but he didn't argue. He is now in college and is doing great. His grades are high and he still checks in a few times a week just to "talk."
If I were you, I would let the clothing thing go, as long as it doesn't change into anything concerning. Most teens need to express themselves somewhat and this really seems pretty innocent. My DH and I are really pretty conservative. We found that it is best to pick you battles. There are certainly a lot more horrific problems out there to be concerned about than dressing in black. Your job is to just keep an eye on things and if you see any drastic changes in her (grades, personality, friends, etc), that is the time to step in. She seems like a well rounded young lady with a good head on her shoulders. You seem to have done an excellent job in raising her. She will soon be a legal adult and you now have to start trusting her judgement. I think she will be just fine! Good luck!
My son did. I am ashamed to say that I didn't know how and I had to ask my teenager to do it.

Is there a teenager you can hire to take care (sm)
of the younger ones and tell the 10 year old that the sitter is just there to watch the younger ones and hang out with him/her?
True, but thankfully in my case, I have great dictators.

They're not supposed to touch my computer ever, but my teenager is sneaky!
I just happened to notice just now that it happened after I had transcribed dictation file through the TransNet Player and and then I got a VR report as my next one and the wave volume was down again as soon as I got into the VR report. Is there a difference in the sound files?

Amen.. I agree with you totally. Heck, if I could work for cash, I would too. More power to them. Anyway, who is going to report a person to the IRS for paying cash to someone? I sure wouldn't. Great Post!!
I'm in Georgia, too.
They're pressuring our kids because the schools around here are so bad, and they're trying to move up the ladder within the 50 states in terms of test scores. My local superintendent of schools is constantly making excuses about why our scores are lower, i.e. absences on test days, higher standards, etc. It's a bunch of junk. The teachers are being pressured to get the students to score higher on two tests per year rather than teaching like the old days. In addition, the AR (accelerated reader) program has turned my son away from wanting to read just for the sake of doing so. He used to actually enjoy the stories and didn't worry about how many points the books were worth.

people are now suing owners of pit bulls when their dogs kill or attack themselves, their kids, animals, etc. The state had legislation last year to ban these vicious mutts but it didn't pass.

Asking rate in Georgia for MTs?sm
Just curious as to what other Georgia MTs with their own accounts are getting per line. I have been an MT for about 12 years and don't think I am being paid enough, but would like to know what everyone else is asking before I raise my rates. Thanks!!

Hi, Renee. Welcome to Georgia. SM
I am in the far north portion of the state, where my husband and I and our pets are snuggled inside enjoying a very nice Saturday while the snow falls outside. Far more serene than your home with two little ones, no doubt, but missing out on all the fun too. Speaking of, I can't even read the paper when watching my tiny grandson, so I can't begin to imagine how you moms manage to get any work done.

Does anyone live in Adairsville (Georgia?) sm
If so, if you bank with Crescent Bank or know anyone who works there or does... tell them thank you. I'm a foster parent and the bank sponsored my foster child for the holidays and today I received a lot of gifts for her for Christmas... more than I ever dreamed she'd get. The people did a great job of making sure that this Christmas is unlike the past ones... where in the past the parents would take any gifts and sell/return them for drug money. This year she gets to keep her presents since the parents are no longer involved in her life.
Buffy, do you live in Georgia?

I give, where in rural Georgia
are you talking about? I think I could put up hearing that more than I can with what I hear out of the Atlanta stations, at least it is not butchering the English language - just maybe their own language like I had mine from moving from Tenn. I understand that nexted above- I have heard that and even worse. I have a daughter-in-law who is parapro right outside of Atlanta (Jonesboro) and supposedly they are not to correct children when they speak incorrectly- she says heck with that and does. Can we say ebonics?
Are they in a really small town in Georgia?

My SIL visited me in Georgia from California
and she was shocked to see what kind of home we could get here for under $250,000 compared to what they have where she lives. Her thinking was my community was really high in cost when no home goes for over $450,000. The prices are really great here.
Didnt know we have our own country now of Georgia!
