For your response. I think I know what you mean by being distracted by the window itself. Sometimes I get frustrated trying to remember the shorts I've entered, and it is just easier to type the darn word than stop to think. I would guess that until you got good and proficient in IT, it would be more frustrating than helpful. Interestingly enough, it seems that most everyone here that didn't like it, still says that one day they will try it again, which makes me think that there's enough merit in it to give it a go.
I checked out ShortHand, and while I didn't download it, it is very close to the Expander I use, and seems to be similar to all the other Expanders out there, give or take a feature or two. I've used Robotype for years, even before I started doing MT. It used to be free. It's not as pretty as the newer ones, but the latest upgrade was under 8 bucks! :-)
I might just go ahead and take the plunge with IT after the first of the year, when I need to rack up some tax deductions. :-)
