Tendonitis

Any ideas on work for an MT who can't type? My left wrist has gotten so bad that after a few minutes of typing it locks up and falls asleep. Hoping to go to the clinic tomorrow and see if I can get a cortisone shot to hold me over until my insurance kicks in in August.

Judging by how long it took me to write this message, working one-handed won't cut it!

Tendonitis
I had that one time with my right hand. It was so painful that I could not even hold a hairbrush. I wore the wrist splint. Cortisone might help. Ibuprofen too, but mine took time. My problem now is it right elbow at the bend of my arm is doing the same thing and I do not put any weight on it. Mine feels like the biceps muscle, so painful. I have tried Voltarn Gel, Ibuprofen, Advil, you name it with no luck. It gets better when I do not type, but I would like to have an x-ray to see what is going on, but I now fixing to change jobs with no insurance so I just struggle with it. I looked on Google to PT websites and I do everything they said, ice, etc. Cortisone might help, but not so sure. It feels like an arthritis type pain and trying to lift objects hurts like crazy. Old age is creeping up on me and typing has taken its toll after 30 years. Try splint, ice and maybe muscle relaxers. Could be carpal tunnel also. Good luck.
tendonitis relief
I'm looking for ideas for symptomatic relief of tendonitis, sleeping in a brace doesn't seem to be helping much.  The pain started in my left pinky finger and is now traveling up toward my elbow.  Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Foot Pedal Tendonitis in big toe!!
I have been doing transcription from home for about 15 years and about a year ago had this pain in my big toe.  Got to the point that joint is very enlarged and so painful to press on bare floor.    Well, after months and months of going to doctors, x-rays and arthritis profiles - finally....ANOTHER doctor says... "Well I have noticed my Transcriptionist and she is always typing with her shoes off and using that big toe to press the pedal".  I thought he was the greatest thing since sliced bread to figure this out.  He did a joint injection in the toe! YIKES, not very pleasant, but now I am almost able to walk barefoot on the floor .  Has anyone ever heard of this?  How long does it take to get it better without using the toe to press the pedal.  I have switched to the other foot and using the ball of my foot.    Just a warning if you are using that big toe to press the pedal.
