Regarding judgment...
That's what's wrong with this world. Judgment isn't allowed. When we had judgment, people behaved better. If everyone in that line was truly in need, I'd be the first one to be there to help them. Did you see the cars lined up there? Nice cars, which equals stupid people. If you only had people who were truly so down on their luck that they couldn't put away 3 days worth of canned food and water, there wouldn't have been so many. I'm so sick and tired of this PC crap where you can't make judgment about the stupid behavior of others. I'm willing to help the truly needy, but not the stupid. And believe me, oh compassionate one, they're out there taking advantage of you and your kind every single day.
Use your own judgment.
If you're uncomfortable with the doctor's preventive measures, let him/her know that and hold off on it for now. If Kitty's having trouble in the future, take her back at that time and have whatever you need to have done performed. The vet will certainly offer routine testing, x-rays, even dental work just like "people doctors" do, but if you don't think it's necessary for your pet's overall health and well-being you're still the best judge of that.
MT since 1978, became Veterinary Assistant in August, 2005.
My statement was not a judgment of anyone
Just simply an observation. As for the sad state of health care cost and coverage, I agree with you. As of right now, my husband, myself, and our baby have no insurance because he just changed jobs and we won't get it until April 1. So why is it cheaper for me to go to the ER with the sniffles just because I have no health insurance? I'm still going to get a bill from them!
Medicaid is a different story. And my post had nothing to do with the indigent or health insurance challenged. And again, no judgment stated or implied.
There's the judgment and then there's the collection
Principle is important. Still in California, where a doctor owed me $8200 (and I still paid my subcontractors), the small claims court makes a determination and a judgment, but it is up to you to collect. Sometimes, if the amount is sufficient, you can get a collection agency to do the collecting. In a friend's case where she sued her landlady (the landlady did not want to return a deposit on a house that burned to the ground in a wildfire), after her judgment she sold it to an agency--collected on her principle in getting the judgment and actually got a little money. In my case, the anesthesiologist had four pages of judgments that preceded me, and I let it go. It hurt, but let it go. Check you state's small claims court rules on collection and check to see if the judgment actually shows on her record. That may help you decide. Good luck.
I don't care either way. I'm not passing judgment.
I don't care who's gay or who reads the Bible. I'm not preaching or Bible-thumping, as your dander up implies that I am evidently. I just thought it silly that the other poster said a man married another man so as not to live in sin when the Bible states that homosexuality is a sin. It's not a debate or a judgment call. Stop taking it personally and see the humor in the other post. It's ironic. Geez, make an observation and get an invitation to debate religion. No, thanks!
Maybe he's not qualified for the job?
.
How qualified do you have to be...
...to answer the phone in an indiscernible voice and put someone on hold while you "google" their problem on the company's online trouble-shooting manual, then come back with the right answer to another problem because you didn't understand the question in the first place? This is really about not wanting to pay people an honest wage for an honest day's work, not the lack of qualified applicants.
Maybe over qualified for what they want to pay. sm
I am in the same situation. I also have 25 years experience, all work types, preferrably op reports, and I can't get a response either.
I think the recruiter or whomever is intimidated by our experience and the low line rate they want to pay.
I guess we need to "dummy down" our resume. I don't know. I am not willing to accept 7-8 cpl either. So, maybe it is a blessing in disguise. I am baffled myself!!
No I'm not qualified to be a doctor. I only said that it was possible
to do this job without formal training and that I was a nurse before I was an MT and that did help me get my first job as a transcriptionist. I am not knocking an education, I was just stating a fact.
CMT does not guarantee a qualified MT, maybe
just someone with enough money to play the game and take a test. I personally have worked with and hired MTs with and without the CMT at the end of their name and I really see no difference overall the CMT makes as far as quality of work or fund of knowledge, and there are some with CMTs that make me wonder how they even passed the test. Experience alone is the tell all. I would hire someone with years of experience over someone with only a few with some silly credential behind their name. If you have been in this business for 15+ years, you do not need some credential to prove yourself. Some just need to have somthing to make them feel superior when they actually may not even be that good. Passing a test for CMT looks good on paper, but in my experience does not mean you can actually decipher dictation or produce quality reports in the real world. JMO
No, I am not qualified as Chief of Staff
but I do my job well and I think that is what matters. I took the time to learn what I needed to learn (on-the-job training) and I am very much qualified to work as a medical transcriptionist.
MTSO's, are most of your applicants qualified to do
I'm curious if most MTs are qualified to "do it all." Can most of your applicants do ops and ESLs? Thanks for your input; I've always wondered this.
Qualified MTs do not work for peanuts. sm
We are looking for GOOD companies to work for (most of them stink), not for 8 cpl either. I am sorry anyone qualified is working for that amount of money.
The best and most qualified QA person they had left. nm
It says you must enter each giveaway to be qualified
I think that means each different one you need to enter separately. that is the way the posts sounded to me anyway.
I had a "friend" who wanted me to get his GF a job .... said she was qualified because,
get this... she is a vet tech.
None ... trained OTJ and am quite qualified as has been proven (sm)
by me having no problem finding a MT job when I needed one. Now I work for myself so I'm doing just fine.
:)
About "US qualified MT shortage" and s/m
claiming that MTs won't work nights and weekends, I don't know about you, but at my job, God forbid I have a technical issue that's not between 8 AM and 5 PM. It's the office staff that won't work nights and weekends, not the MTs.
You hit the nail on the head! Qualified sm
IS the operative word. I blame most of this on MT schools that make big promises and cant possibly deliver in the little amount of time they require for schooling. As Travelin MT said, just by the questions on the Word Board it is obvious that even beginning MTs have not been taught the basics. I don't know what the whole answer is but I do know that these schools that promise to turn out MTs in 4-6 months need to rethink their promises.
Also back when I use to do hiring and testing I would get people I knew were not qualified, did not match the qualifications I listed in the ad but would not take no for an answer. I had a few that I just finally brought in for testing and as suspected they could not even finish the test and the parts they finished were horrible.
There has to be an answer to all of this someplace.
What company do you work for? I am very qualified and need a job! nm

I think MTs deserve to have QA who know their stuff. QA should be more qualified than an average MT
QA specialists are specialists in the field. Of course there are new things learned every day, but a good QA person KNOWS that melena is different than melanotic...it is a given. There are certain things you have to know and that is one of them.
Many companies *think* they can just hire anyone for QA and call them QA and that is why so many ads you see say they pay 3 cents a line, etc.
QA staff should have megayears of experience in MT as well as at least 3 years of experience doing straight QA with the mentoring factor involved also.
All companies owe this to their MTs and if you are getting less, you are not getting what you deserve from your employer.
You are way out of line. What Bush is saying is that there is no qualified female
PHYSICIAN to lead a woman's health program in the US, and he is going to make sure that women are treated the same way he would treat animals or reptiles. After all, didn't he get his kicks as a kid by putting cherry bombs down frogs throats and blowing them up. He has no respect for any female.
You have got to be kidding!! Good luck getting qualified MTs for that pay (LOL)! nm

If I quit MT, I'm only qualified to be a greeter at Wal-Mart. (n/m)

You dare question the judgment of the almighty RN! How dare you!
Don't you know that RN's know everything and are the beginning and end all of all that's holy in the medical kingdom!?
But seriously, you have my sympathy, girl. Hang in there.
Because you're a nurse you also feel qualified to be an M.D. too? (Wink)
In this business in order to remain qualified to receive
those benefits, you must maintain the required line count/pay earned per pay period. Otherwise, you shall find you're working for nothing extra.
It also doesn't matter if your place of employ runs out of work, which in turn hinders you from qualifying for those benefits, you lose them regardless.
Ahh, the joys of the Medical Transcription field.
Best of luck with your new practice.
I disagree, first off, I have a heck of a hard time hiring qualified US MTs
client ready work. Then, when I do hire MTs I constantly run into the problem of how they only want to work part time or can only work 2 hrs on this day, an hour here, or an hour there, or the next problem is consistency. Out of the blue, oops, can't work today, or I lost connection to the Internet yet they're too stupid to go offline instant messenger. One MT owes me money because I was nice enough to help her out (yeah I know my fault) and she screwed me over. Such drama. It's a CONSTANT battle to find good US MTs.
Sorry, there is not a list of user names & I didn't know "just me" qualified as a taken nam

RUN AWAY!!!! Do not pass go, do not buy their
lousy worthless software and footpedal. They are also known as TranScam. There are complaints against them with the BBB and ripoffreport.com. Even a national parenting magazine published an article about their scam methods.
You can download Express Scribe for free to play sound files at http://www.nch.com.au/scribe/
You can purchase a footpedal online for under $50.
As for my own experience with them, I am a college grad, took a medtrans course, and have worked in MT for 8 years now. I wanted to see if what everyone said was true, so I applied with TranScam. They even pulled it on me! My test file was perfect, but Alan said I needed mentoring so I could work for him for free after I purchased the $400 program. I don't think so, dearie. I don't know how that guy lives with himself. He must be one of those masochists who thinks he's so superior to women or something.
Don't pass this up!
nm
Did I pass?
If you don't want the job, please pass it on to me! :) nm

Thanks Jay (V?) - will pass it on too...nm
this too shall pass
Stop, take a breath and look around you. Really think hard about what's important. If you had to leave your home for a small and less expensive one, would it be THAT bad? If a vehicle got repossessed, would it be the end of the world? I have learned from age and experience just not to sweat it. You can only do what you can do.
Appeal the medical bills that weren't covered. Find out from the ambulance company why they were denied payment...been there, done that.
Everybody has problems...I got stiffed out of 2 checks by my prior company, went to work for another national, been there a month, still haven't been paid, though they keep telling me it was mailed. No pay now for nearly 3 months. If they turn the cable off, big deal, I'll listen to the radio. It gave me a good opportunity to clean out the fridge since there's nothing in it!! Worry only about your health and your husband's health, stress can make you ill....and it DOES.
or a DAY AT THE SPA pass.....nm
I will pass that one along to her, thanks!...nm

How about when the acct. mgr. hand-picks easy reports and puts them in the que of less qualified/tal
Then the rest of us are stuck listening to Ho Chi Minh struggling through a neurosurgical op note because we're "more skilled and able to handle it," and end up making about 50 cents an hour. When you think about it, it's easy to get "punished" for not sucking at this job and the rest of us end up pulling the slack for the dead lumber that took a 2-week correspondence course and have to be spoon-fed easy reports for reasons unknown to me.
That is so funny.... I must pass it on

Please read and pass on...
I received this via e-mail...so you know how things get started on the Internet, but if it's true, I won't be buying Pepsi anytime soon..
Don't buy Pepsi in the new can. Pepsi has a new "patriotic" can coming out with pictures of the Empire State Building, and the Pledge of Allegiance on them. However, Pepsi left out two little words on the pledge, "Under God." Pepsi said they didn't want to offend anyone. In that case, we don't want to offend anyone at the Pepsi corporate office, either! So if we don't buy any Pepsi product, they will not be offended when they don't receive our money that has the words "In God We Trust" on it.
I will pass this along to my hubby. He's always looking for new...
investment opportunities.
Very thoughtful of you! Thanks!
Maybe you could pass out fliers and
give your number or e-mail address, and just see what kind of response you get and go from there with setting up a meeting time. Have the first meeting at your house.
What are you smokin'? Pass it over here! :)
Please pass on the name of the company you went with s/m
You do not currently use ExText at all. What company using ExText did you leave? TT ?
What platform are you using now. Would you mind sharing this with us.
Yep, you get the free pass, right?
Because everyone there knows your names? Bigspenders!! I knew you said were going back soon and that is what we are doing, probably in August sometime. Hubs likes to wait until it gets around 110 and he is happy. Ugh for me! I took my kids when they were younger to loads of places so now my time and even if I am up in years don’t care, get assistance at the airport if I need and still go on my merry way. After I get these bills out of the way, my intention is going at least twice a year for myself- hubs can wait until that 1 trip a year to Las Vegas. Never stayed at Harrahs- saw the show there, wonderful. Wish they had the really big stars in LV like they used to - when I got to where I could afford, Elvis, Frank and the likes gone. Might go and see George Carlin, have always liked him and his wraped sense of humor. Again, hubs will be at the Rio with the all you can eat seafood buffet!
If you passed the CMT before, I'm sure you can pass it again... (sm)
especially since you have an additional 7 years of experience. Someone told me they make you listen to the dictation snippets without the use of a foot pedal. Really...that is funny. What MT would work without a foot pedal? Unless of course they were a double amputee. Sorry I'm so wordy tonight. I just got done with my shift and am a bit punch drunk at 3 am.
Anyway, the RMT is just for new graduates to test their basic skills.
Good luck with your CMT recert. I have my 2 years at the end of the month and am thinking about taking it myself.
CMT pass score
Can anyone tell me what is the score required to pass the CMT exam?
Thank you, I will pass along your kind words to him.
Thank you for taking the time to write back. It is really helpful and I appreciate your kind words. Thank you for the prayers! I will pass along your kind words to him. Bless you and have a great day.
I can't pass a typing test, LOL. I am so
used to using an Expander that I can't even type a sentence without a mistake in it.
