just did a research for a friend of mine whose doctor had given her vit E and quinine for her leg cramps. When I was researching I ran across the above to go with your type symptoms along with the leg cramps.

POLL: Drink of choice. What is it that you drink the most daily?
SPLENDA IS NOT ASPARTAME
Aspartame has many aliases, but it is not the same as Splenda. For more information on the dangers of aspartame, here is a link to a website:

Sure could. It was a nickel and a penny. Then they made King Size Cokes that you SM
had to pay a dime for. Cigarettes were 28 cents. You put in a quarter and a nickel (the machine) and you got a pack of cigarettes with two pennies in the cellophane. Ugh. I'm really telling on myself here.

Raw Veggies & Dip! sm
I love Hidden Valley Dip that comes in a packet as a dry mix and you add it to sour cream. I use low fat sour cream. This is a healthy snack for everyone and those dieting particularly appreciate it. I then cut up broccoli, cauliflower, celery, and baby carrots. I soak all my veggies overnight in a big dish of water and drain them well the next day as it makes them taste even better when they are crispier.

eat foods rich in zinc
Not having enough zinc can make smelling and tasting things like a festive holiday meal a real challenge. Here’s why: The cells in your tastebuds and nose that help you to smell depend on zinc. In fact, cells in the salivary glands make a zinc-dependent protein called gustin that is secreted into your saliva. An important contributor to your sense of taste, gustin helps develop cells that can distinguish among different flavors.
Although zinc deficiencies are pretty rare in the United States, it’s worth asking your doctor to test for a deficiency if you are experiencing taste and smell loss. Many things can lead to a deficiency, including poor eating habits, alcoholism, certain drugs, kidney disease, and the stress of surgery or serious burns.
"If I discover a zinc deficiency, I typically recommend 25 milligrams of zinc picolinate twice a day to start," says Dr. Silbert. Of course, you can also eat more of the foods that contain zinc. Your best bet is seafood such as cooked oysters and crab. Meats such as lean beef and lean pork also provide zinc, but they’re not really recommended because they are high in saturated fat. Other sources include eggs, whole grains, nuts, and yogurt. If you plan to take more than 20 milligrams of zinc a day, it’s best to do so under your doctor’s care.

high calorie foods
When my sister was sick, they encouraged her to drink a lot of Boost, Ensure and those types of high calorie drinks. Also, you can add LOTS of butter to his foods as well as honey, espeically if he can't taste it ! So sorry for your friend, and I hope he does really well and gets better !
Yummy grilled veggies
Take green peppers, red peppers, onion, squash, zucchini, asparagus, tomatos and slice them in thick, big slices. Marinade in sun dried tomato and basil salad dressing for a few hours with some garlic and salt and pepper. Then put straight on the grill and cook them. Very good.
I served it with biscuits and veggies.
Made the broth gravy and so it went well with the biscuits.
Try the meat baby foods by Gerber.

"Pop." As in the color popped, the veggies just pop. nm

Need help on recipe board please for non-perishable finger foods (sm)
Have been asked to help with an office open house and need recipes for non-perishable "finger" food. Since it is in an office, no appliances available, so anything of this nature will be greatly appreciated!!!!!
Just add some aerobic activity or even walking to your day and cut out the white foods. Really

I think Reader's Digest just did an article on the top 13 foods to eat for health..sm
See if you can Google to get to their website and look for the article.
Dr. Mehmet Oz of New York City has a lot to say about food and supplements, too, and I think has a book out regarding what he considers essential for optimal health. He might even have a web site. And there's always good old Dr. Andrew Weil who's been around a long time advocating healthy eating with good health and longevity. I'm pretty sure he has a web site with recipes and info.
From what I remember of the top 13, the list includes blueberries, tomatoes/tomato sauce, spinach, walnuts, flax seed or flax seed oil, broccoli and other cruciferous veggies - sorry I can't remember the rest. Maybe oatmeal and citrus...??? Some soy and tofu are great for you, too! Meat, chicken, and fish should really be eaten sparingly and be lean cuts. Might want to search the other health/weight loss magazines/web sites (like Fitness) for advice and articles. Good luck to all of us as we strive for better health!
I've heard that gum and snack foods are cravings they get. Nothing meltable!
Lemme look.
Cut out the white foods and high sugars and exercise more. It's what works. nm

chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate
chocolate
I like to have flavored coffee in the afternoon - German Chocolate Cake coffee from Barnie's is good and no cals (well maybe literally 5!). Otherwise, brush your teeth :)
I won Chocolate too and it was such a fun wk
bribe myself with chocolate
I set my goal of 30 minutes, 200 lines, whatever, and once I meet my goal I get to eat a piece of candy that I keep sitting below my monitor as motivation. Reese's peanut butter cups and Dove chocolate are my fave!
chocolate fountain
I saw one of these at the opening of a store and the person that owned the fountain, stayed and attended to it. I didn't see how it was set up or taken down. It was a really neat thing and the fresh fruits and other accompaniments were yummy.
Chocolate cravings...
I find it more tempting working at home to eat junk -esp. when I get bored transcribing. SO, I just don't keep it in the house cause if it's here, I'll probably sooner or later eat some! LOL...Unfortunately, my husband (who is trim, dang him!) always has a bag or two of mini candy bars in the fridge. I just put them to the back where I can't see them. Or, I will buy the Slim-Fast snack bars, which are QUITE good! Only about 120 calories each, which is better than 280 for a candy bar. Hope that helps!
I won chocolate this year! Thank you again.
love
chocolate and lots of it! nm

I love the RS chocolate pecan ones especially! (nm)
And dunk the extra into chocolate!
I am changing the meaning of this emoticon. She is melting chocolate!
Thanks for reminding me I have bananas in my freezer, lol. Maybe I'll make some banana bread today too.
Chocolate-covered strawberries.....Yum Yum!!!

Me, too, but it's the dark chocolate. I get up and do something else, have a few bites, and then

Chocolate banana milkshakes. sm
Nephrology doc had me on these twice a day when my protein and electrolytes were low. Ice cream, 1 banana and milk, add chocolate, whip it up in the blender. I even used to throw my multivitamin in there for good measure. Tasted so good I got addicted to them. LOL-it was a great chocolate fix. I think you could add some peanut butter in there, too, for a different twist and it has plenty of protein.
I'll take anything that's dark chocolate, thanks! :) nm
f
Well, I'll be dipped in chocolate!
Yes, I am connected through a VPN! That would explain it . . . when I'm not connected, I don't have the problem! Thanks so much - you've solved my problem!
Talking about chocolate frosting--
I bought 1 of these smaller, looks like birthday cake, at the store yesterday and ate almost the whole thing, after dinner. I paid for that last night - did not have my head high enough up on my pillow and the reflux kicked in. I should know than to do that but gosh, the chocolate was saying eat me - and I was just thinking about that diet yesterday.
I drink because of this job.
I don't drink it as much as I used to...sm
I stopped drinking one a day just because the cost was prohibitive (it adds up at $2 a can). It's almost worth it, though. I swear, within about 10 minutes of drinking one I can tell a difference--not just energy-wise, either. I feel a lot sharper and can focus better, too. I have switched to drinking coffee just because of the economic reasons, but it's really doesn't have the same effect for me.
If you end up trying it and are concerned about calories, the sugar-free has 10 calories as opposed to 110 in the regular kind. I can tell only a very slight difference in taste. A Flintstone is a Flintstone, right? :)
I drink.
I drink and then I gorge on cheese. Actually, no. That's wrong. I drink WHILE gorging on cheese. Cheap wine and cheap cheese gives me the giggles and then I watch a movie while in my retarded stupor, usually Napoleon Dynamite. Then I pass out and "poof" it's a new day. And then I'm really constipated so then I gorge on chocolate...chocolate Ex-Lax.
I'm not sayin, I'm just sayin.
