TAT

I had a woman who wanted me to work in the office one day a week!  I said absolutely not as I have other clients who I have to be available via telephone and that i am an independent contractor.  (the last IC worked in the office!).  She also tried to impose a dress code on me when I delivered work!  Yeah, right.  I again, said I am not an employee and do not have to follow a dress code (I always look nice, albeit jeans and a nice top).  She didn't give me a hard time when I stuck to my guns and I have been working for them for almost two years now.  So, I say to you that if she is getting the work in the time frame you agreed upon, then risk it and say, you're getting your work according to our agreement and that it that.

        • Maybe facilities use to dealing with employees - & lose sight of how to deal with IC.
