I'm looking for any information I can find out about Sten-Tel based out of Springfield, Massachusetts? Are ICs obligated to a set schedule, set number of hours/lines, etc. Do they have a lot of ESL dictators? How flexible are they?
Thanks tons!! I'll look forward to hearing from you.

Is Massachusetts in India?
Then why do ALL of my dictators have an Indian accent? I work for the big national transcription company on 4 hospitals in Massachusetts. Why can't we sent their voices back to India and get the transcription done faster over there and leave us our own? Just a thought.

Well! I screwed that one up pretty good - stuck my email in there, spelled a word wrong...LOLOL....just beautiful.....anyway, I do like Sten-Tel and they have been great to me so far!

I think the rate of pay for beginners is kind of low - I heard 3 cpl for VR/6 cpl for typing....I get a little higher pay because I had acute care. The platform is called Escription - very very easy.
Sten-Tel
I am a beginner and was just offered 7.75 cpl for transcription work and 3.75 cpl for editing. I think it depends on how you score. Just my opinion.

WOW - I'm sorry to hear that!! Sure sounds characteristic of this business, unfortunately. Thank you very much for the information. Please let me know if you think of anything else.

7.5 cents a line is very good for a beginner. You should be lucky you got offered a position, since most companies want experience

Does anyone work for Sten-Tel who could help me out. This is my first day.

Try Sten-Tel
They hire newbies. I can also email you some info.
Here's why I wouldn't use Sten-Tel
They also do transcription, which I believe to be a huge conflict of interest. I may be a bit paranoid, but if my clients ever figured out that they could use the same system and get cheaper services from the root company, what would keep them from ditching me and going with Sten-Tel?
If they are a reputable company I doubt that they would actually contact my clients directly, but you never know when your clients are going to decide to try and underbid you by going with a big company like this.
Try Sten Tel Transcription
Google them for their contact info.
No work at Sten Tel
No work for weeks and nobody knows why (supposedly).......................................................................................................................... That's ok...I'm gonna start testing elsewhere . The pay stinks anyhow.
Love Sten-Tel
No line count required if an IC. So far they have been the best company I have ever worked for.
Has anyone ever heard of Sten-Tel...
I tested and got accepted at 7.5 cpl but would like any info on the company and what they may be like to work for...
Sten-Tel question
Can anyone give me any info on working as IC for Sten-Tel - good or bad?
It depends on which Sten-tel. There are several of them.
I've worked for two of them. One was not very good but I was a newbie, so I tolerated it until finding something else. The other one was pretty good, but I had a better offer elsewhere so I wasn't even there a week.
Which one are you looking at?
Testing For Sten-Tel
Has anyone tested for Sten-Tel? The second test for acute care is like listening to a auctioneer!! Uggh...Has anyone actually passed this test?
Hugs to all!
Jen
Anyone work for Sten-Tel?
Do any of you work for Sten-Tel? I was thinking of accepting their offer, but could not find any recent posts about this company. Would appreciate any information what it is like to work for them.
Thanks!

Anyone else with Sten-tel on the ASP platform out of work or is it just me that is sitting here twiddling my thumbs?
I like Sten-Tel, working out of folders. I have worked Vianeta before and it was slow and

MDI Florida, Medical INK, AccuStat Carolinas, Proveras, Sten-Tel, Focus,
and I think that is all. Maybe someone else can list others - these are the ones I know.
Good luck.
I think they are actually dictating to a transcription service (Baker Sten-Stel) via C-phone
then they e-mail back to the doctor's office for me to type. So maybe it will go back to them for QA. Why I don't know. This work cameto me from a temp service and they obviously did not know much. I will find out Monday morning. Thanks for your input. I will more than likely be on this site screaming for help. The AOL question was just in case I can get them to use my home office next time, because I just switched to DSL through AOL and I was hoping that would would work with Express Scribe, my footpedal and their software.
