will a method that requires me to give away free work.  I will politely explain my position when we have our meeting.  If push comes to shove, I will tell her that I will switch to her method of line counting, but I will need 9 cpl rather than 8 cpl.  If she won't do it, I will give my notice.

This has only happened once, and I had my check cut same day.  This is business and I will not beg someone to give me my money.  I simply stated it as a fact. 

After doing a lot of research on our own, we filed Chapter 7 in October 2005 pro se (without an attorney) because from what attorneys charge and what they actually do for you isn't much when it involves bankruptcy and with the new laws that came in to play in 2006 we figured they would be swamped with filers who didn't want to wait until the new laws went into effect.  many of them also aren't very familiar with BK laws and you really need to interview at least 5 or 6 lawyers before picking one.  We did not want to go to the trouble.

Student loans and IRS debts are never discharged in bankruptcy, unfortunately; however, if your tax debt is over 3 years old it might be forgiven as long as it was all due to income, two years lapsed since filing, and it was included in your schedule and discharged.  You also need to check your bankruptcy laws for your state-the above is federal, but you need to get out your discharge papers and your schedule of debts to make sure you included the taxes.  Any additional tax debts you incurred after you were discharged cannot be included in the bankruptcy.  You probably knew this already.  Any debts you incurred before the discharge can be.  Just make sure it is on your schedule and that the IRS was notified of your discharge.  You can open an account on Pacer if you don't already have one if you don't have your BK paperwork. I'm assuming the bankruptcy court in your state uses Pacer.  Most of them do.  Here is the website:  http://pacer.psc.uscourts.gov/

Good luck.  It will take a lot of paperwork and going back and forth but I bet you could do it.  Also, a lot of times, when you file BK using an attorney, they are usually done with you once you're discharged unless that was included in our contract for an extra fee.

do you have?  If it is the medical dictionary, as far as I know it is only a reference software and can't be used as a spell checker.

If you have the spell checker, go into Word.  Click on Tools, Options, and then Spelling & Grammar tab.  Then click on the Custom Dictionaries button about half way down the window.  This will open a new window that lists your available dictionaries and one should be checked.  Mine is checked next CUSTOM.DIC (DEFAULT).  There is an ADD button to the right.  If you click it, you will be able to browse for your custom dictionary.

I've only had a few times where the check didn't come but that was a small account at the hospital and the bill was going to the wrong department, etc. As a business owner you should be prepared to have SOME cash flow, just for occurrences such as these. I have had accounts miss a payment but when I send the next month's bill, they paid right away. Then again, there were some months when I forgot to send THEIR bill, so fair enough. I have never really been stiffed.

mortgage.  Always, always keep in touch with them even if you don't have the payment.  Your not alone in your dilemma.  The mortage companies have been very flexible and willing to work with payment issues in the past year.  Not sure if the options are still available since they've started foreclosure proceedings, but there are payment plans and now the popular "modification" loans.  Pick up the phone and call them - do it ASAP.  Explain your situation, decreased income, ARM adjustment and see if there is an option to keep you in the home at a payment that is comfortable.  I know many of the lenders are waiting for the exact guidelines on March 4th under the new stimulus plan to come out.  Hopefully this will be the saving grace some are hoping for. 

I wish you luck though, I know you're in a touch situation.  I was there too so can truly sympathize.  My loan is currently pending modification, but I first started with a payment plan.  My fingers and toes are crossed.

When I first signed up for DSL, they added all kinds of charges and extras - one was for a backup dial-up account in case DSL went down for some reason!!  Yeah right!   I was able to get at least that one removed, if not more, and now my monthly fee is around $35 or so.

We live in a rural area and waited forever for DSL, but I know my mom is also very happy with her cable, which, as someone else mentioned, might be a good option.  I know it's really fast. 

We use the payment plan so our bill is the same every month. They average all 12 months and come up with a month payment.  Our winter bills usually would be as low as $70 if we weren't on the payment plan.

Can't live here without AC - no way, no how.
