I like Gayle King (Oprah's BFF), so I hope this rumor's true. Rosie, Gayle, and Joy should make a nice combo. I may actually start watching The View again!

Replacement
Since I pick up and deliver I need to find replacements locally and my accounts do not realy like to go with anyone else. If it is less than 3 days they ask that they hold it until I come back, when that is 4 docs it gets a little rushed when I return. Finally took 3 work days off this summer with a weekend and they said that they would rather wait a day or two for the dictation than get someone else they did not know. But I do have some back up if it is a week or so but that hasn't been in the past five years. If I get sick, again they are very considerate and wait for the work. Have had these 4 accounts for 5 to 15 years so we have a history and they are happy with my work. So usually if you have been doing their dictation for a while they will work with you for a few days or illness. I mean, they take vacations and time off and we don't get paid. Like I have said many times, my accounts are really pretty good to me and but I provide a very good service and some extras and so we treat each other pretty equal.

I had a knee replacement....SM
five years ago. Worst experience of my life. I took narcotic pain meds for about two months, then switched to Advil and Aleve. It takes quite a while for all the pain to go away. Miserable surgery.

Menopause and hormone replacement. sm
I am 3 years from my last period and have refrained from taking hormones because of a family history of breast and uterine cancer in my mother. I have not felt well for some time and have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia. My GYN thinks that bio-identical hormones would make me feel more myself but I have been reluctant to take them. For those of you taking hormones..do they make you feel a lot better? Thanks for any advice.
hormone replacement therapy
I have been on Premarin 1.25 mg since my 20's (surgical induced menopause) and on 0.9 mg for the past few years, am 53 and have absolutely no menopausal symptoms and no side effects of any kind. It is worth it.

but it might be something to consider. I went through menopause relatively early, and I had horrible hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings, etc. I remember once I received an email from my boss asking me to spend the day working on my secondary account, and I sat here crying, knowing that what she really meant was that I wasn't good enough to work on my primary account. Looking back, it is funny, but it was not so funny then. I felt like I was going crazy. 
I finally broke down and saw an OB/GYN. She is an advocate of natural hormone replacement, but gave me a book to read about it and in the meantime gave me estrogen patches and progesterone pills, and it was a godsend. I got through the tough times, and now I take nothing.
It sounds like you have a lot going on, and if you could get rid of the menopausal symptoms, maybe you could see things a bit more clearly and address those issues as well. It is tough to uproot your life and move away from friends and family. My heart goes out to you.

C-phone foot pedal replacement
Thanks...I had made a crude connection myself with electrical tape years ago for a higher volume without the headset, but it didn't work too well. The one from Radio Shack may work much better. I'm sure the sound recorder would have shortcut keys for fast-forward and rewind, but I'm not sure where to find sound recorder on Windows Professional. I'll try to find it now and make a shortcut on the desktop. Thanks again!
MT work after total knee replacement
I'm having a left total knee replacement next week and was just wondering if any one out there has had this done and if so, in what time frame did you return to transcription. thanks.
I got a replacement spring at my hardware store .... sm
take your remaining spring as a sample for the gauge ... i had to buy one a foot long, irrc, and cut it with scissors but I think it cost under $2. you might call around to save time ... I used an "old time" amazing local hardware store but I suspect my local Ace hardware would have something too .. (but doubt home depot or Lowes would) ...
There are several reasons I have half a dozen "dead" keyboards in my shed ... and this is one ... I think later models weren't made with this "feature" (the spring under tension poppping out and impossible to find feature, that is) ;-)

Luka is a poor replacement for my main man George Clooney.
Maybe it's the scripts he is given. He just doesn't have the star quality and charm that George had but who could follow George Clooney? Not Luka. Of course I gave up watching ER awhile ago when it became Bizaarro World with B actors so maybe Luka has changed?

It's great she was able to lose the weight and now feel so much better about herself. She doesn't have to be like Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton and tell that she's had surgery if she doesn't want to. Some people may not want their medical/surgical history public. No need to know whether someone had gastric bypass, hysterecomy, or anything else if they don't want to divulge that info.

According to what I read, Star has *turned off* so many readers with her wedding and weight loss that THEY decided not to renew her contract. I am one of those viewers. I never had an opinion on her one way or the other, but once she started with her crazy wedding I was totally turned off.

USA network on Tues at 10 p.m. Announce their winner next week. More to compete to come later in year. Winner wins a RCA recording contract. Wyonna and Cowboy Troy are hosts. Always special guest. Judges are fun. Idol spin-off but way more entertaining, real,and you know who's out from the week before on the show. No extra show to see the results. Awesome entertainment. Not a huge country fan, but have found these kids very talented.

I definitely will keep you all posted. You should be able to hear a 90-second audition clip tomorrow. The first show will be July 15th and the second July 29th. The first 20 will be narrowed down to 8 and then the winner. This is a lot of fun and I am definitely singing for "All the Girls" I was never one to get up in front of people and talk much less sing. She didn't leave The View of her own free will, her contract wasn't renewed. There's a whole thread farther down about what happened and how it came to be that she was told not to come back after she told everyone a few days earlier than planned that she wasn't returning to the show in the Fall.

I would also like to continue my self-education that I work on daily. I am trying to learn about everything because I want to know everything and understand the entire universe, LOL. :)
I would also like to be able to put everything together in order to do something that gives a LOT of people joy and hope along with personal power. What that something is, I do not know.
This thread is awesome. It really gives insight as to how different we all are. I love seeing that if we all had the freedom to do what we truly wanted to do, we would not choose the same things. It also shows that we certainly would not stop being "productive" if money were not needed or earned. :)

Has anyone been watching Rock Star INXS? Tuesday nights when they perform is great..Im telling you these people have talent. Last night, Ty Taylor sang a Bob Marley song..Woman Dont Cry..I was rocking..I love Bob Marley and have most of his albums..This show is great and has better performers than American Idol, IMHO..plus there is also the added attraction of watching man babes, starting with Dave Navarro (oh..just love his muscles)..

I got my first telescope the other day and have seen the moon. It is too cool!! But, I cannot seem to get any planets in my view. I have googled like crazy using the brand and number of the scope, but still nothing. Does anyone have some advice on where to go? I have several astronomy sites on my favorites list, but none can help me so far. TIA

Anybody watch The Next Food Network Star tonight on Food Network? Yvonne got "voted off the island" this time - she was always cooking ethnic and hispanic foods that were good, but she copped an attitude when she got voted off. The guy from Iowa is still going strong! I betcha the blond chunky guy wins (is Guy his name?) though.

I made it to the top 20 in the local Zanesville, OH competition similar to American Idol. PLEASE HELP A FELLOW MT!!! You can go online and vote tomorrow for me. PLEASE!! go to www.whiznews.com or www.zanesvilletimesrecorder.com and cast your vote. You should be able to hear me sing for about 90 seconds. The public vote is only a portion of the scoring. ABC did not renew Star's contract....sm
ABC did not want to renew Star's contract this coming August-September. She knew that before the announcement that Rosie would be replacing Meredith. I, for one, am ecstatic that Star is leaving The View. Barbara Walters knew all about it prior - it's all over the web news. They all are so annoying except Joy Behar. Her annoying ways are part of her stand-up but I believe that Joy Behar is the most open-minded one on the show and I wish they'd dump Elisabeth. I watch so much less now that Meredith is gone (and I didn't like Meredith the first years either but grew to like her the best).
Oh well, we ALL can agree to disagree!

I did a search on this company and yep, they are from India with satellite offices in New York and CA. I took a gander at their pricing - holy smokes! $10-12 an hour for audio transcription of police interviews, multi-speaker conferences etc?!!!???!!? That is insane! Who in their right mind would send this company verbatim work or work of a sensitive nature when they can't even command the English language! Time to give India the boot!
