Spraying for spiders

I have lived in houses with brown recluse spiders all my life, am not an expert but have plenty of experience. The spiders come in from the outside especially in the summer to escape the heat, and the fall to escape the cold. If you didn't have a problem before the remodeling, possibly an "entrance" was opened up, but the remodeling may also have disturbed them from the attic or under the house. We tried Terminex years ago, until my son and I developed problems with the spray. At the time, the tech told me that sprays will only drive spiders into cracks, and they will come out when it is safe. Maybe they have developed something new in the last few years that is better, but possibly it will only make them "disappear" for awhile. Even so, I won't chance it with my reaction to sprays. I am greatful for the other information, I will be buying some peppermint oil in the near future, and also trying the "sticky traps." By the way, I have been around brown recluse spiders for 50 years, and have yet to be bitten, but they are very dangerous. I have killed 3-4 in our house daily in the last several weeks (it is a very old house, with a lot of openings around the foundation). Checking your bed at night, shaking your clothing, emptying your shoes, and not reaching into any dark corners without looking first will help protect you from them. Good luck.

Spraying
While it usually is the males that spray, fixed females can sometimes have this problem as well. Males can be given low doses of female hormones, which will sometimes help. You might ask your vet if you can try this with the female.
Cat spraying
If there is any chance of a UTI, the homeopathic remedy Cantharis works - at least it did for my cat years ago. The dose is Cantharis 30C. Homeopathics are great natural remedies. They are inexpensive, have no side effects and you stop giving them as soon as symptoms disappear, unlike antibiotics which have to be given until full course is completed.
my cat's spraying problem was a ton of bacteria in the urine
He was a feral that I adopted and he'd been spayed, etc., but he wouldn't stop spraying. I really thought I was going to have to have him put down. The RECEPTIONIST at the vet's office says, "So, have you had his urine checked?" which was about the only thing we HADN'T done - once he got that truckload of antibiotics under his *belt* he stopped spraying - that was two years ago and he has not sprayed one time since. By the way, if you have never tried "Anti Icky Poo" it is the best odor remover I have ever used and NOTHING else touches cat spray/urine like this product (I don't work for the company, honest) - the vet will even give you a needle to squirt it under the carpet with - it works enzymatically (is that a word?) and there won't be a trace of odor left. The odor won't come back either.
Anyway, just an idea. I hope you can figure it out because there is nothing worse than cat spray in the house....eeewhew!!
Could be. There are spiders everywhere...
It could be spiders biting me while I sleep. They are out of control here. DH doesn't want to hire anyone to get rid of them. He is going to Lowe's to buy the bug spray himself. We have been spraying inside and out around the house. I saw a lot of dead spiders, but there are still so many more. However, this is the South and it's humid with many, many types of bugs during the summer. I had so many bites I had to take Claritin to ease the symptoms. I will probably mention it to the doctor when I do go but won't go to urgent care. Thanks.:)
Spiders
They live in my garage and I leave them alone.
Spiders anyone?
Okay this is off topic for anything, but has anyone ever had any trouble with brown recluse spiders? We have just moved into this house in the last month. Prior to that, we had been remodeling for 3 months. I only saw one tiny spider up until last week. Last week I found 3 recluse spiders, one a day 3 days in a row and then tonight I found another. Has anyone had any trouble with these? I have sprayed the house and it apparently does not seem to bother them. The only way I can actually kill them, other than smashing them, is to spray them directly.
nah, just snakes.....and spiders.....and roaches

No brown recluse spiders but I may have sm
found what looks like black widows out in my yucca bush. Scared the tar out of me. Now, I can deal with the snakes, but spiders sent me screaming. Spent some time on the internet looking them up but they might be black jumping spiders. They look to hairy to be black widows, otherwise the look a lot alike.
