a transcription service and I have for about 15 years and I have been very successful in this business, money wise. And I also am close to getting my degree that I didn't finish years ago; I'm back in school full time AND running my business. I wouldn't call that spinning my wheels.

that doesn't mean that if someone younger has more ambition and wants to advance in this profession that she shouldn't be your supervisor.
You said you didn't WANT to be a supervisor, so does that mean that no one should be your supervisor for the rest of your life then unless they're 80 years old?
I'd have to get one on wheels to go about my adl. :)

Squeaky wheels love to squeak ...
so bear that in mind. Squeakers can't squeak much at work, so they come here for relative safety and understanding. They also want to warn those inquirers and newbies who might have high expectations that no, they will not be making $50,000 their first year, etc.
This is the MAIN board you are posting on. There is a board for newbies, and most of us old-timers try to be a little more gentle there.
You should see boards where nurses post. New nurses visiting nursing boards get the first impression that all nurses are mean and burned out, when only half of them are burned out and regret their career choice in reality, LOL.
I just had Hot Wheels bounced off my head and computer monitor.
My kids are older and shouldn't need to be entertained. We do things with them in the afternoons, evenings and weekends, just like any other two parent working family. The kids know better than to throw things in the house. However, it's too hot to go outside so they're bored. They also know I work until noon. So why am I being struck by flying objects?  I think it's chore time.
