TMJ treatment
I have had TMJ for years. I had an appliance that I wore for years, and it helped, but was nothing permanent. I don't remember everything I did, but quite a few things. This year we started going to a chiropractor, and one of the things he has worked on is the TMJ issue. He uses some kind of a little tool on the jaw, gives it a click or two, which pushes on the bone at the joint, and this has helped more than anything I have done over the years. My daughter also has TMJ, and this very simple treatment has helped her, too. I don't know if all chiropractors do this or not. He isn't a go-in-and-have-your-back-adjusted-because-it-hurts kind of guy. We started out seeing him three times a week, and are now down to twice a week. He has helped all of us (hubby, daughter, grandson, too), and we consider him a big part of our health care. Knowing what I know now, I'd certainly opt for this very simple treatment before I did surgery, braces, appliances, etc.

I worked with a lady who underwent treatment for a lung mass and she worked up until she got too tired, but bounced back really well once the treatment was over. She came back really strong. There are so many new modalities to treat it. As far as your work, I am wondering if you could try to do as much as possible and find someone in your area to assist when needed. The reason I say this is because this will keep you sort of balanced. You don't want to give up your clients because they will be support as well. You may just want to mention it to someone you trust at the practice, and I think you'll be surprised at how supportive some offices can really be when you are dealing with these types of issues as an independent. Who is dishing out the bad treatment?
Sometimes I have to remind myself that those persons at these companies who treat/treated me badly are not the owners. The recruiters, QA, trainers, account reps, supervisors, unpleasant person who answers the phone, etc., are usually employees as well. Whenever I have experienced foul treatment at a company, it has come from these other employees. Whenever I have actually had contact with an owner, they have generally been very nice and respectful. Of course, I'm not referring here to pay rates and benefits, just attitude and respect.
I hope you're OK and are looking into treatment.
I had a bit of a cancer scare myself about a month ago on top of losing my job the month before that. The doctor said I'll probably still need surgery but the condition isn't malignant. I'm getting rid of things left and right and trying to figure out what to do with my life now. I even gave up on two of my hobbies because I never have time for them. she was in Mexico for treatment for cancer, BUT...
From what I heard on GMA a few days ago, the clinic she was in was deplorable. There was even an article about it on the Watchdog website, AND the man running the clinic was NOT a doctor. So, what does that say about the person or persons who took this woman there for treatment?
Just Finished Treatment for Sciatica
I was diagnosed with sciatica/piriformis syndrome about a month ago. My physiatrist sent me to physical therapy for Graston therapy and iontophoresis. I was to the point where I had to sleep in my recliner with a heating pad on my hip. Of course, this is the result of sitting for too long......a battle wound common to the medical transcriptionist.
The Graston therapy is pretty painful and you really wonder how it could possibly help. The iontophoresis consisted of a patch with two large circular pads connected by an electrode. The pads are soaked with dexamethasone. The patch is then stuck to the butt for 24 hours. It's painless, except I pulled off a couple of layers of skin when I removed them. I had this done about 5-6 different times over a three-week period. I was also taught some gentle stretches to stretch these muscles, which I haven't been too diligent about doing.
Bottom line is that I completed my PT about two weeks ago and I haven't had any pain since then. I hope you get some relief for your condition. I know how very painful it can be.

you might get on a good calcium with magnesium supplement to aid in good healthy of your bones. My chiropractic treatments have decreased tremendously since I got on the drinkable kind! Good luck......there's enough pain in the MT world these days without pain in one's body, too!
i have telangiectasia on face. laser treatment - very painful...but works
what could be more unsightly that broken veins on the face? well, lucky me, i have them. eveyr few years go in for treatment. electrical zaps to destroy broken blood vessel. Hurts like the dickens though. Can't use pain relievers because it causes constriction of blood vessels, they told me.

It's great she was able to lose the weight and now feel so much better about herself. She doesn't have to be like Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton and tell that she's had surgery if she doesn't want to. Some people may not want their medical/surgical history public. No need to know whether someone had gastric bypass, hysterecomy, or anything else if they don't want to divulge that info.

According to what I read, Star has *turned off* so many readers with her wedding and weight loss that THEY decided not to renew her contract. I am one of those viewers. I never had an opinion on her one way or the other, but once she started with her crazy wedding I was totally turned off.

USA network on Tues at 10 p.m. Announce their winner next week. More to compete to come later in year. Winner wins a RCA recording contract. Wyonna and Cowboy Troy are hosts. Always special guest. Judges are fun. Idol spin-off but way more entertaining, real,and you know who's out from the week before on the show. No extra show to see the results. Awesome entertainment. Not a huge country fan, but have found these kids very talented.

The first 20 will be narrowed down to 8 and then the winner. This is a lot of fun and I am definitely singing for "All the Girls" I was never one to get up in front of people and talk much less sing. I would also like to continue my self-education that I work on daily. I am trying to learn about everything because I want to know everything and understand the entire universe, LOL. :)
I would also like to be able to put everything together in order to do something that gives a LOT of people joy and hope along with personal power. What that something is, I do not know.
This thread is awesome. It really gives insight as to how different we all are. I love seeing that if we all had the freedom to do what we truly wanted to do, we would not choose the same things. It also shows that we certainly would not stop being "productive" if money were not needed or earned. :)
I'm not giving up
Fortunately, even once I return to work outside the home my child will not be going into daycare. Even if I did MT at home and he wasn't there, my family-my mom would take care of him.
I'm not giving up, i'm just not willing to put all my eggs in one basket right now. I'm sure I will keep my day job, get my MT training and try to find something PT for 3-6 months. It will probably take me longer to find a PT job at home for a newbie, but this way I can get some experience under my belt and still be able to have a stable income. Once I have gained the much need experience, I'm willing to do this FT. I think I will have my mom keep him 4 hours while i'm working and then do 4 or more hours of work while he is asleep or napping. I think this would work better for me.

You need to train him to accept being in his cage. If you don't do something about this situation, I can betcha you will soon be looking for a home for him. Which would be more humane? Taking the time and energy to retrain him or give him away to strangers? Also, neutering him may help. He is at that age where he is beginning to notice girls, and this may be contributing to the problem. ALso, when you try to find him a new home, it will be easier to give away a neurtered male.

what will you do next? Is medical billing the next logical step for MTs, or is that a bad gamble as well?

Has anyone been watching Rock Star INXS? Tuesday nights when they perform is great..Im telling you these people have talent. Last night, Ty Taylor sang a Bob Marley song..Woman Dont Cry..I was rocking..I love Bob Marley and have most of his albums..This show is great and has better performers than American Idol, IMHO..plus there is also the added attraction of watching man babes, starting with Dave Navarro (oh..just love his muscles)..

I got my first telescope the other day and have seen the moon. It is too cool!! But, I cannot seem to get any planets in my view. I have googled like crazy using the brand and number of the scope, but still nothing. Does anyone have some advice on where to go? I have several astronomy sites on my favorites list, but none can help me so far. TIA

Yvonne got "voted off the island" this time - she was always cooking ethnic and hispanic foods that were good, but she copped an attitude when she got voted off. ABC did not renew Star's contract....sm
ABC did not want to renew Star's contract this coming August-September. She knew that before the announcement that Rosie would be replacing Meredith. I, for one, am ecstatic that Star is leaving The View. Barbara Walters knew all about it prior - it's all over the web news. They all are so annoying except Joy Behar. Her annoying ways are part of her stand-up but I believe that Joy Behar is the most open-minded one on the show and I wish they'd dump Elisabeth. I watch so much less now that Meredith is gone (and I didn't like Meredith the first years either but grew to like her the best).
Oh well, we ALL can agree to disagree!

I did a search on this company and yep, they are from India with satellite offices in New York and CA. I took a gander at their pricing - holy smokes! $10-12 an hour for audio transcription of police interviews, multi-speaker conferences etc?!!!???!!? That is insane! Who in their right mind would send this company verbatim work or work of a sensitive nature when they can't even command the English language! Time to give India the boot!
