Sometimes cultural differences....sm

Can give the wrong impression. I've personally met Indians and Pakistanis, physicians and otherwise, who are absolutely delightful--IMO, far nicer than New Yorkers and other damyankees who tend to be what a southerner or East Texan would consider rude, abrupt, and plain downright hateful. I think those yankees just often have to live in an environment of wall-to-wall people and thus erect bobwire boundaries that a Texan or Oklahoman cannot understand or forgive. Just keep 'em away from me, I have little tolerance for their cold behavior. On the other hand, some yankees are the best, nicest people you'd ever hope to see.

India is wall-to-wall people too. It's not fair to form one's opinion of people by their nationality or ethnic background, just because of a bad experience with a few or a certain number.

It is a cultural difference
and if you are going to stay friends with a German woman then you are going to have to accept the way they address you and everyone else. I have a friend who is like this and it makes me crazy, along with whacking the dog on the head as well as her son who is 6'4" but is just too nice to clout her back. She nearly marches around the house .. ya-vol.
But it's a cultural event that's been around since 1966!

How did it come about then that a "holiday" that was "invented" less than 40 years ago (apparently to create a semblance of culture for the otherwise cultureless) has become more acceptable to acknowledge one that has been around for 16 centuries!

It's so condescending and ridiculous that if it weren't so darned outright offensive it would be laughable.

But it isn't.
and don't flame me.. .I know Kwanza is a cultural event, not

There are lots of differences

Acute care is so much broader as far as need for knowledge of terminology in many different specialities.  Clinic transcription can be of any specialty, but usually if you have a clinic account it will be limited to one or two specialties.

There are many different work types in acute care.  Clinic work consists of mostly a history, physical exam, and plan.   Acute care includes things such as operative notes, consultations, etc.  which are "a whole different ballgame" as far as terminology.

not VAST but there are differences.

I went with the electronic fee - $75.00. Some differences in...
benefits, but all in all it's better as far as I am concerned.
differences in acute care and

Basic 4:  H&P (history and physical), CN (consultation notes by specialists on staff), OP(erative) reports, DS (discharge summaries) - reports dictated while patient, having experienced a(n acute) problem, is admitted and being treated in a hospital. They encompass all disease processes, procedures, specialties, medications, analyses, surgical equipment, tools, anesthesia, etc.

Multispecialty clinics, i.e., specific specialists consulted by outpatients including OB/GYN, opthalmology, neurology, psychology, psychiatry, orthopedics, urology, hematology-oncology, internal medicine, pediatrics, gastroenterology, family practice, etc., etc.

Did anyone see the news yesterday about the differences

They said that carpal tunnel syndrome was a very rare condition and it does not come from overuse such as typing, game-playing, etc.  They did quite a good job with the show.  I am convinced they are right.  We get repetitive strain injury, not CTS.  I believe them.

I think as the medical community finds out more about injuries and diseases and medications, we have to adjust our thinking.

They certainly made a believer out of me.  What do you think?

I am very well aware of the differences between the 2. As I stated below
in my post, I use GuildFTP server software. It is on my computer and the files are stored on my computer. It is completely secure. I pay absolutely no fees, because if I did I would have to pay them to myself. The files are sent from the physician's offices to my server which is in my living room. It does not go through anyone else to get to me. I have a static IP address which their FTP software (usually cuteFTP) uses to connect to it.

What is the difference between a 9-pin and a USB foot pedal?
No, there are absolutely no differences between Shorthand and Speedtype except the price.
