I saw that portion of The View. What seemed to go over the heads of the other 3 women on the VIEW, or at least they seemed to not get it, was that Whoopi was trying to ask why Oprah would pull the book NOW, since she apparently knew about the author's background whenever the book was originally put on the list, which was some time ago. In other words, Oprah put the book on the list, knowing that the author had a background in the KKK. But, after the author died and his background became more public, Oprah pulled the book from the list. I really like Oprah and was kind of disappointed to hear that she may be swayed like this. Of course, now that we have heard this, I, for one, will be looking for the book to read it. One of my great-grandmothers was 100% Cherokee.
