Moral of the story: Don't let your puppy play with kids unsupervised. Look into puppy class/puppy kindergarten in your area. Vet's office should be able to tell you where they are. They are fantastic for socializing puppies with other dogs, kids, and adults. Just completed class with my puppy. Sad to think how many good pups have been put down due to behavior of naughty kids/adults too. So happy this worked out for you and your kids.

I was a little surprise this morning when the neighbor guy knocked on my door. I was expecting to be read the riot act or something but got just the opposite.
Turns out that the guy is the girls father but the woman who I assumed was her mother is actually the aunt (father's sister). His wife died in a car accident 3 months before they moved here. The girl was in the car with her mother and younger brother. Dad was out of town on business and it took them almost two full days to find him because the girl was in shock and refused to speak for almost a month after. Both her mother and her baby brother (3 years old) died in the accident. The aunt is living there to help him with the daughter he said the girl has had severe psychological problems since the accident.
He was very apologetic for going off the deep end yesterday and that he normally is a rational man. I really felt bad for the guy.
He also told me that he appreciated us letting his daughter come over and play before but would understand if she was not welcome back. Said that his daughter completely withdrew from her friends at her old school and she is still in grief counseling twice a week. Playing with my kids was the first time since the accident that she had made any effort at socializing.
I never would have suspected that she had been traumatized this way. She was quiet and didn't say much about her family but gave no indication that this had happened.
The guy was here long enough to basically pour out his life history and I truly felt sorry for him and even more for his daughter.
I'm still going to be very watchful for now but there's room for a second chance after him having made the effort to clear the air and explain things. I think I will just sit on this for a few days and then invite the three of them over for dinner in a few days and try to start over.
I may be a sucker I know. I would rather have a friendly relationship with my neighbors and if we can do this, well, it would be better for everyone.

Problems with puppy
My dog Snoopy is scared of my father. We ahve had her for almost two years now and whenever my father comes into the room, she cowers and runs into my room. She stays in here all day long while my sister and I are at school, and my mother is at work. But the wierd thing is, that at night, she is his best friend. She doesn't show any signs of nervousness or anything. Any suggestions? Does she have some sort of a mental problem?

I didn't want it to get buried in the old thread below, because I'm really worried about you. It must have just been me, but when I read that you found the flowers on your steps, and from your own garden, it just gave me the creeps. Don't know why, but it sure did. She (someone?) been's sneaking around your yard, and though it looks like a good intention, I still find it unnerving. PLEASE be careful! I'm not the paranoid type, but something just doesn't sit right with me about those flowers...

Don't get the video
You pay an extra hundred for that video screen. Do you really think you are going to download and watch videos? and 7500 tunes? But the real reason besides the money is those screens are notorious for cracking and that is not covered under warranty.

Hello! I was wondering if anyone remembered an old video that was used to train medical terminology. It was in cartoon style....and it taught the breakdown of terminology.....one I remember was gastr....gastruck...stomach.

It could be your video card is going bad.
Does it give you any kind of error message when it won't boot up or does it just sit there?
I know just enough to be dangerous, but it sounds like there could be a problem with the mother board.

They did not have enough to hold them but they are still part of the investigation. For any father to tell his son without a body there is no crime, how awful. You get a grip, it is so obvious the boy is involved and the two friends helped him cover it up.

Home Video to computer anyone?
Does anyone know anything about transferring home videos to computer? When I got a digital camera I had to play with the program which came with the camera for a while before I got the hang of it. I now have a digital video camera and trying to get the video to the computer. I think I have a program that edits video but it asks me about a source. All I did so far is plug the camera via USB port to the computer. Oh, the camera did not come with any special program. Any ideas. Thanks.

You can start very slow and not even do all of the basic video
start off every other day doing the video and on opposite days, walk one mile. I also changed my diet to high protein and low fat with lots of fruits and vegies. I lost 50 lbs starting like this and after only 2 months, I was doing the full more difficult video plus doing 5 mile hikes 2 days a week and an 8 mile hike a third day a week. It only took 4 months total to get to where I wanted. At age 36 I was looking better in a 2 piece swim suit than most 20 year olds! You CAN do it! Make your goal getting into shape, not losing weight. You'll be more successful thinking about it like that!

I looked for that video on YouTube and couldn't find it, and was wondering if there is more info. available on its origins, who made it, when the meeting took place, etc. Hayseed - did you find it surfing on YouTube, or did someone send it to you? Was it fairly recent? Did it have a title other than "How not to hire an American?" I think we might've lost one news organization's interest in it because of the difficulty in tracking down more info. regarding it, so I'm trying to find out as much as I can.

I also saw a video of Hunter Hays when he was older, and I thought it was so weird that there were two boys with the same name that both played accordian. I missed the part on the younger version that said it was an old video... still almost too cute to be true.
It sounds like your video card is getting ready to go out.
If you have an option on your monitor for taking the settings back to the factory default, I'd try that. If it continues, then I'm afraid there's a problem with the monitor itself and you may end up having to get a new one. Sorry to hear about your troubles. I've been there. It's frustrating, to say the least.

Hi NYNT - wegmans owns their own chicken farms and this a video from a farm...but
supposedly it is the industry standard on how these animals are treated...you cannot even imagine the cruelty in your imagination.
Wegmans has officially denied it, I believe. I shop there still, but I refuse to buy chicken products/eggs there, and I usually mention it at the checkout whenever they ask if I have found everything...
Obviously, just me not buying those products does not help, but I can live with myself that way...now that I have that knowledge.
Beef, turkey, pork - it is all going on all over the country, wherever you buy it, whoever supplies it to the stores. More and more even the people working at the meat plants say the animals are not even dead when they are cutting them up...it is cheaper not to have to anesthetize them or kill them first.
The animals are filled with chemicals, also, and hormones, etc. Does that have to do with these really tall kids I see lately (smile) just a thought!
