Will the same apply for IC??
x
I'd like to apply.

Apply, apply, apply
I would suggest you check the archives of this and other MT boards.  I would also suggest you send out a lot of resumes and apply to many companies.  A great company for one person might not be a great company for you.  I would never quit one company unless I already had a job with another one.  If possible, work the 2 jobs to see which one is worth leaving and which one is worth staying with.  Don't sell yourself short.  You only deserve the best.
No, you don't want to apply here.
If the Twilight Zone did a show regarding transcription companies, this would be it.
I'd t ake it. If you don't want it, I'd like to apply.
;-D
does not apply to IC's...sm
you are self employed, remember? therefore YOU are the employer. If you have your house built and the guy who comes to put the siding on is slow, and doesn't know what he is doing, he might only make $3.00/hr by the time he's done. Does he go to your builder and say you need to pay me minimum wage...no, he bid the job and he is responsible for doing enough work in an hour to make it worth his while...just like you are!
400-650 when I apply myself.
Using Escription.
Apply to any and all

You can find online, through magazines, etc.  I applied to over 100 when I first started out after school, and finally found someone who was willing to give me a try.  You will eventually find someone.

Also, if you can't find someone to hire you right away, write to a company to see if they might give you a short intern position or something.  It would be worth a try anyway.

Good Luck with your search!

did we apply for the same job? LOL sm
I've been at home for 12 years and it's taking a toll on me. I need some social interaction. There are 2 local hospitals here and one had a unit clerk, nights and weekends. I applied and within a few days, emailed me back and said no. Geez, didn't even get an interview.
Why is it only for SEs? If its really quality they want it should apply to

Quality is quality whether an employee or not.

FYI, you can apply online...sm

at:  www.fafsa.ed.gov

All the instructions are on this site.  You can get your "PIN" here (which you will use for applying online) and and also fill out your application for aid online.

1099 does not apply to SE
xx
Let's apply your logic here once again.
OK.  So now people who don't like skanky celebrities think the celebs are their friends?  ROFL!  Please, keep posting.  It's quite amusing.  The more you post, the more you reveal your own crazy thinking.  Must be why you like Angelina so much.  She's some hotty kinda nutjob, eh?  Birds of a feather flock together.  Chirp, chirp!
I did say that what I was talking about might not apply to the OP
Those are problems I usually see in MTs who have received an inadequate education in transcription, or who have only worked for 1 or 2 doctors in-house. If you weren't serious about "Why go to MT school" as a question, then I misunderstood.
Thanks..I won't bother to apply with them now.
nm
Call me if you would like to apply
I don't count the peaNUTS. I have someone do that for me. Actually, it usually turns into a naughty game if you know what I mean. Would you like to be a counter in the weekly peaNUT game? We always have room for more.
Not because of pasting but if you apply to any job
if it reaches the company you sent your resume to, just like when you post a message your email is already filled in.  It's cookies in your browser like above poster said.
Thank you a bunch! Looking to apply
there - are they good?
Mostly apply to ones with no pay posted
Most of the ones I see with pay posted list their high figure as one being below what I would accept, except there are one or two IC ads I have seen that were in my pay range.  For employee status, most don't state but I know what my worth is and what I want from a company, which gives real added value to the cpl.  It has been my experience that most employers will negotiate the cpl when a good applicant comes their way, so I don't worry much about going through the interview process not knowing the pay scale.  Even if I go through all the testing and interviewing and the pay becomes the ONLY issue that would break the deal, I still feel that I learned something from the experience and can apply that to being more selective in choosing another company to apply with.  Knowing what the competition of your employer is doing gives you power and confidence in finding your niche.
What is the company? I don't want to apply
NM
How would I apply? am sure I'm out of state. (nm)

Well, then doesn’t apply to me, just
telling it like I have lived and see it now. Reading just below today another person who has been in for quite a few years saying outsourced and giving it up. Thank goodness don’t have to do that as in the golden years but earlier I would have just had to work a heck of a lot more to make it and raise my family....
Absolutely does apply
All reports must be approved and signed by physician. If she is not qualified to create reports on patient charts, which means given approval by the doc to do such as a nurse or PA, big big trouble. I know.. I supervisor HIM department. Joint Comission would have a fit.
Can I apply with your company?

Thank you for your post.  It is a pleasure to know you are out there.  Any chance you are hiring -- part/full time?  If so, would appreciate hearing from you.  Thank you.

And Tude-Y MTs need not apply!
!
DO NOT APPLY WITH SPI/CYMED
They are "eliminating" positions apparently to start their transfer offshore. Not a good company to work for by any means!!!
I would think just go ahead and apply.
If you've done acute care, you should be fine with radiology.  I've never done pathology, but I would think it would be pretty similar to radiology in that they use certain tests for certain specimens.  I think there's a touch of radiology and pathology in acute care reports.  I do a lot of clinic and also have worked full-time radiology, and they are seem to intertwine.  I would say either let your current employer know you're interested and see what happens.
Apply the BOS rules
Expand abbreviations in diagnosis, impression, and assessment. Otherwise leave abbreviated. If you have the BOS, you can check under "abbreviations." A lot of companies say in their ads and/or on their websites whether they adhere to the BOS or not, and/or if that is a reference they require. I do not think you can go wrong if you generally apply the BOS rules whereas you have to watch out because some are using the 3rd edition now.
I would go ahead and apply...
If you apply and they pull up your *record* and decide not to hire you, you'll have your answer as to whether that'll affect your ability to get a job. If you get turned down, it's not as if you get put on a list somewhere - this is just a company who will put your file in a drawer somewhere and that's it.

If you do get called back, don't mention it in the interview. That record has been marked as *no conviction* and that's exactly what it means. You don't get treated the same as those *with* convictions.

Also, I had a dispute with a telephone company once and was looking up the situation online and came across several lawyer sites that can answer questions like yours, i.e. whether a record under the first offender act needs to be mentioned on an employment application.

My sister was arrested for shoplifting 30 years ago and she finished nursing school, married a doctor, and with the kids gone now, is back being a scrub nurse, so I don't think you'll have a problem.

Good luck
Sure, go ahead and apply and

do testing if you can't find an employee position that you like.  Don't buy any equipment except a USB pedal though.  A pedal would be a good investment.  Even if the company is a small one, they may still provide equipment you need, or rent it to you if it is a Lanier or C-phone.  A lot of companies have you logging into the hospital's system directly so you may not even need a new version of Word.  Be prepared to arrange for unlimited long distance if you don't have it already.  It looks like lots of places require that.  If you have internet cable that should not be a problem; just get internet phone service also and you will have your unlimited long distance.

Good luck with your search.  It's a jungle out there.

How would this apply to employees...sm
assigned crappy, ESL or otherwise difficult accounts where they have to work 14 hours to do their 8 hours or 1200 line daily minimums?
Who is this fantastic company? May want to apply.

Can you apply for both acute care and rad at MQ?
/
I like your style! :) Can you tell us where you work so we can apply? Thx. nm
m
ME versus MT, the pay cuts only apply to
those who do ASR (automated speech recognition), now being referred to by MQ at ME (Medical Editors). If you do not do ASR it would not apply, if you do you should receive a letter stating a 20% pay cut for same, or option to quit doing it at all and just do MT.
If this is close by to me (VA) I would love to apply - sm

Please drop me an email.  As for relocating that would not be possible for me at this time. But if can be at-home job why is it necessary to relocate?  I could see coming in for training for a week or so, but why relocate if it can be accomplished remotely?

it is insurance subsidized by NYS...you more or less have to apply, and keep
being reapproved (I think every six months, or yearly) just like on welfare. they need your paystubs, etc.

If I am wrong here, someone please correct me. This is what I found out a year ago for my significant other. He did not want to do it because is not interested in being on a government program...

The rates seemed reasonable, I checked it out myself last year, about 200-300 month, for any insurance. BC/BS, independent health, etc., all offer healthyNY, but it is done through the state where the state actually picks up the tab...

You call any of them outright, and they will let you give you the scoop, or call healthyNY right off the NYS website...one of pataki's ideas, I think. Actually, most states have this I believe...

with all the cut-backs in NYS, I am not sure how that has affected the pay-scale as I did hear some people were cut-off certain health programs...

I believe it is based on individual income, and not household income. My boyfriend qualified, even with me in the household, but as I said, he is not too keen on those programs.

You can also get help with prescriptions from major pharmaceutical companies, like Lily, etc., but same thing applies. they want to know everything about you, and you have to keep sort of reapplying, or proving nothing has changed in your situation...

best of luck to you!
cannot apply for unemployment. that is for employees. nm
x
Apply, hon. I have not personally ever heard of that
Don't let that stop you in any form or fashion.

she should look at apply for section 8. I thinks its through the
housing development of the city she resides.
Will I be rebuffed if I apply for a radiology job? nm

How to apply to Terra Nova

Hello June,

I applied by sending my resume to information@terranovatrans.com. I then got a response from one of their HR staff. I do have some good news though, I was speaking to a friend of mine (who is also an MT) who knows somebody that works at Terra Nova and they love it there. So, I think I'm going to accept the offer!

Is there any more feedback?

Do you realize how many people apply for

There are applicants from all over the US.  Good luck on your quest for part-time.  Most want full-time.

You might apply for some clinic work. sm
It can be a step towards acute care. At least you have experience with some transcription. You might learn to use the internet there, and then try for acute care without OPs, until you feel ready to handle them. Good luck with whatever you do.
I apply a 5% fee if not paid within 14 days.

Once I started to institute that, the checks were cut and in the mail on time. :)

U.S. Labor Laws Don't Apply...

in India. Unfortunately , many countries don't have employee anti-discrimination laws. India seems to be one example. But , I have seen employment ads in the Philippines where they not only discriminate on the basis of age , but they do so on the basis of gender as well. Then there also issues of workplace health and safety (no O.S.H.A. there) as well.

Those who get these jobs there probably feel pretty fortunate , but we know better don't we?

Yeah, someone answer this so we can all apply and
x
Yes. Hit apply and either copy and paste, or
attach resume; however, some companies will not allow attachments.
A cover letter is always a good idea; just keep it short and to the point.

Happy Job Hunting.
So why not apply to the clinic jobs?
If you have experience, then why not apply for the clinic jobs on the boards?
