Mitral valve prolapse

You might want to check with a cardiologist and see if you have mitral valve prolapse.  From 40 on, I would get spells of feeling anxious or wanting to cry for no good reason that I could determine.  It got worse such that I felt dizzy and was sure I was going to pass out, but never did.  I thought it was an ear problem and saw an ENT.  Nothing.  My internal medicine doc sent me to a neurologist.  Nothing.  It got so bad and I was getting so agoraphobic that my next stop was psychiatry for panic attacks after over $1000 worth of lab work.  Imipramine made it worse.  It wasn't until this point that I really started to notice the palpitations and a heart rate in the 120s.  Finally saw a cardiologist who said that this had all the signs of mitral valve prolapse even if it didn't show up on an echocardiogram.  He said it wasn't uncommon in women of a certain age.  He did a Holter and a stress test, too, and put me on low-dose atenolol (beta blocker).  I've been fine since (13 years) save for a few short breakthrough episodes every few years.  Exercise helps.  Really limiting the caffeine is major (although I do cheat on chocolate).  Being careful with OTC medications (no antihistamines) helps.  Something other than Novocain at the dentist.  Atenolol is an old drug, therefore generic and cheap.  I didn't find it sedating, although that is a listed side effect.  I hope you can get a definitive answer, because if you feel anything like I did, then I know it is unpleasant in the extreme.

Need expansions for both mitral valve repair

Anybody with mitral valve prolapse that seems to have problems with palpitations. I have had this
fairly regularly for a few years and have given up caffeine. I think they seem worse when I get on a candy craze and just wondering what other people find with MVP.
not pressure, but

Pressure cooker.
Since I bought my pressure cooker (not a fancy model--just a $49 basic job from Sears), now I use it constantly! Even the toughest meat (chicken or pork) comes out fall-off-the-bone tender with excellent flavor. Quicker than regular oven too.
The pressure of it is the killer. sm

You need support, a support system. You need to take control, change your perception of "they are making me do this" to "I can do this for me" not the insurance company. Your mind is where this will work. You do have the power. It is up to you. Decide on a plan with support from good people, a doctor, a group, talk to people who have done it. But first yourself. Talk to yourself. We'll be listening. Good luck!
That is just it, I am not putting pressure on him at all and support him,
but deep inside I am heartbroken and won't let him know it.
Pressure to work holiday
I don't think you're crabby and appreciate the venting. Usually work volumes sink really low to almost nothing around the major holidays. They certainly are aware of this every time they pressure their employees to work a holiday. Just a thought.
Do you take blood pressure medication? sm
They can make you extremely tired, too. I take Toprol XL and have for 13 years. It peaks about 3 hours after I take it I have trouble staying awake at the PC from 6 am to about 10:30 am. I literally fall asleep with fingers right on the keyboard. It was so bad that I finally changed to the afternoon shift. I asked my doc about it and he said try taking it at night. Well, that brought on the headaches I was trying to avoid. He said to take 1/2 in the a.m. and 1/2 in the p.m. No dice, still had headaches. He won't change my pills, says if it isn't broke, don't try to fix it. He wants to keep my pressure on the low side. My only solution was changing shifts and now I don't fall asleep at the keyboard anymore. I can get 10 hours of sleep at night but still fall asleep about 3 hours after taking that medication. I'm fine if I am up and about and doing things but sitting at the keyboard is another story.
No spin. No blood pressure problems.
I'm not complaining about an Indian MT taking good work from me and I don't know anyone within the company who gives out that information anyway.  I do believe you might resolve your issues by telling the whole story because at first glance it just sounds like you are complaining and really don't want a solution.  If that's the case I am sorry for you.  I am also sorry for you that your source came up with an "Indian MT" taking your work who only wants American doctors to cause your blood to boil.  Not only does this intruder come from India but she leaves you with the lousy Indian dictators.  Not that you sound prejudiced or anything.  But do you really need all that info to perform your job?    Or is someone trying to stir you up like that higher source you have within the company.  Maybe they want you to get mad  and quit!  Be careful who you believe and IF your source information is valid what are you going to do with it but fret?  That's not a good thing friend.
go ahead. i don't feel supervising is any different than pressure of MT or any other job.
so you must transcribe, listen to excuses and have patience. i do that now while transcribing. i listen to excuses why there are no pay increases or why there is no work. i am patient while waiting for work and being told to cut back on work as there isn't enough or work more cause there is too much. i am quite sure i know as much as my supervisor as far as common sense and logic.
My question is why do you want that kind of pressure in a job that requires you to
work 80 hours a week? If working 80 hours is part of the job at any given time, why would you want it?
the stress level, the extreme pressure on the job
The only thing good out of my years in the industry was I had terrific insurance when I got cancer. The bad was, when I got back to work, the whole atmosphere had changed. They thought I should be ready to take on the world, and I was still with secondary illnesses from the chemoradiation. In fact, even today (3 years later), I still have problems.
I try not to pressure myself so I don't get that way. I build up speed naturally. -nm

How is the sign-up process? Is it high pressure?
xx
A large part of the problem is pressure to cut costs (sm)
often results in the squeeze being applied to the non-acute-care parts of the equation and very, very often that ends up being the transcription. The services end up bidding jobs lower than they want to and it just trickles right on down.

Then you have some MTSO's who insist on paying for the technology they want and need off of the worker's backs. I used to work for a guy who wanted to do this and it's one reason I don't work for him anymore.

It sucks being a mushroom and it always has. I don't see it getting any better, either.
Well, there's your problem! You're using blood pressure pills instead of birth
control pills!!  See - BP pills are for your heart - BC pills are for your - well, surely you must know!
well it's really down to the nitty gritty pay issue. everything is relative pressure-wise
I mean if you get paid enough for the pressure it makes it a little more worthwhile than the feast or famine world of the MT. You know what I mean?
If this stops hurting so much with pressure or elevation, you have a bleed, honey.

yep, global warming? But projected path is Galveston due to high pressure &

This dumb-and-dumber peer pressure is the pits. And kids with higher
great IQ still means we are all human, and frail, and forgetful, etc, etc, etc. stuff like that happens to me. I tell my son it's because I'm pondering quantum physics, just to make him grin!
Ditto and I wear my gloves inside out so the seam doesn't rub on the pressure points. nm

my input
There are many companies out there, and the majority of them are good companies. Most jobs are work at home, too. There are pros and cons to every single MT company. What works for one MT won't work for another. Research the Company board. Use the MTstars search function. Read the Job Seeker board to see who's hiring. If you apply and get a nibble back, ask questions specifically. However, I don't think we're all going to list every MT company we've all worked for.

Here are some hints. Don't pay for proprietary hardware or software from the company, buy it on eBay, don't work for free, don't work for less than what you think you are worth. Even when I started out as a total newbie grad from a terrible school, I still made $.065 per line.

The average MT can do 150 lines per hour, so 1,000 lines would be roughly 6.5 hours of work. I expect to put out about 1,200 lines today by noon, and I'm certainly not as fast or experienced as most on this board. There are people out there consistently doing 250-300 lines per hour, so 1,000 lines per day is certainly feasible.
Thanks for that input.
I thought there might be something wrong with me.  Maybe I'm too critical because I keep finding something "wrong" with all these kids.  They're just kids.  Yeah, little demon spawn is my favorite term for them.  These little beasts have no respect for other people, their possessions, or adults.  It certainly makes me appreciate my own kids so much more.  I don't tell them enough that they're good kids.
Thanks! I will look into both of these. Appreciate your input! nm

Thank all of you for your input!
I appreciate the info on both Cymed and Transolutions. Sounds as if Transolutions is the better of the two. If this does not work out, I think I will try doing IC work - just need more info on it. Guess I would have to check into insurance. Have Cobra now and it is sending me to the poor house. Thank you.
Thanks for the input
The person I dealt with was Jennifer, but I never met her, just back and forth over the phone and naturally she was very positive.
Thanks for the input. NM

We aren't in Western Washington, other side of the mountains and she is even further east from me, about an hour from here.

They will get help. It may just take a little while longer before they can find someone qualified for it.
Thanks for the input everyone (nm)

TY everyone for your input..

I think I will get busy on approaching some of the chiro's in the area then.  Small town here..not many facilities to choose from for just rad and someone else suggested trying chiro.  Any other suggestions would still be greatly appreciated as well as any websites or individuals willing to share some sample reports.  Feel free to email me with samples/more suggestions.

Thanks again!

Thank you both for the input.

My primary account, though it keeps me busy and has for over 10 years, there is no extra work.  What I do and what another girl does on weekends is all.  I did take on another account at one time but it was either too much or not enought.  Too much for me to handle accurately and do domesticated stuff and dropped back to handle both but not enought money.  I think I will just have to buckle down and stress to family (kids are old enought to help out) that they will have to pitch in or do without!  Thanks again.  You do help me feel a lot better!
Thank you. I will try that. I appreciate your input here nm

thank you for your input
The local is sort of what I am leaning towards..
Any input? Looking in to them.
I appreciate it!  Thanks!
Thanks for your input.....
I guess I will just take today as a day to do some "testing." Thank you so much for sharing. I feel so alone and worried about my future as an MT.
Thanks again, I appreciate your input...
more than you know! Yes, I am definitely a female, I'm sure my sensitivity shows here!! LOL

Would I be going against anything if I sent a letter of apology to those docs for what happened? It isn't like I would be going against noncompete as I would not be trying to get their business, just to apologize and set my mind at ease and get closure.
Thank you all so much for the input....

I appreciate the input. try and have a better night! :)

Thanks for all your input. sm
But Home Depot does use subcontractors.  I asked if they speak English and was told NO.  So, I'm looking at local carpet stores.  Found a lot of horror stories on the net.  Guess it depends on which Home Depot you use and which subcontractor you are lucky or unlucky enough to end up with on your project.
Thanks for your input

Leaving the office and going home to work sounds like something I should seriously consider.  I moved from Oregon to Texas recently and was shocked to find the wages so low.  I went from $15.00 an hour to $9 an hour and nothing around here pays anymore. Believe me my goals are higher than $9 an hour. Thanks again and I'll be hanging around!

Thank you all for your input
The part time job I work at is small and very personable, so with this newer job I have, at a bigger company, I wasn't quite sure. It sounds like I should not send her an email. I just really hate to leave all of these blanks, but you should really hear this guy - he has a very thick accent, he is mumbling like crazy, and coughing in my ear. I feel like the whole report is one big block of swiss cheese.

Thank you all
