I know exactly what you mean.  When I looked at one India website's communications in 2005, it became crystal clear to me that, just as in the attack in New York, this whole "economically devastating" our country was also well-planned.  Once this country started giving Visa privileges for doctors to come train here, I believe that's when our downslide began.


We, however, being a pretty trusting people in general didn't either want to see or didn't pay attention when the outsourcing topic came up.  In my experience, most doctors just want their transcription done correctly and in a timely manner, so when approached with this new and novel concept and voila! the cost was dramatically reduced, I'm sure the majority jumped on the bandwagon not realizing the hidden "consequences" of what they were signing off to do.  I'm glad to see some hospitals here still have in-house MTs and hope this trend continues.  If it does, I guarantee we will see all kinds of posts from MTSOs ballyhooing about their "lost" business!
