I would put a comma but definitely not a semicolon.

I'd lose the comma after the male and replace with "who is".
Otherwise, the sentence is fragmented.  Do you have carte blanche to edit for clarity and style purposes?
First, you need to remove 4 screws to replace/remove your hard drive. (sm)
Once the screws are all removed, the hard drive (4 x 4 x 2) is sitting in the bottom of the cage. This won't always be the situation, (some really cheap cages are open at the bottom, so the instant the last screw is removed the drive drops if you aren't holding on). Oddly enough, this is the most critical stage of replacing a hard drive, in the sense that removing the drive through the case where the ribbon cables are bunched up and over the CPU and heatsink is most likely to create another problem. If the cables are long enough, you can leave them attached to the hardrive as you slide it out, but don't try pulling through a mess, clear a path first. If you are discarding the entire unit, dont worry about  being gentle handed.
I say no comma...sm
I seem to recall learning that no comma was necessary when the 2 adjectives described different things. Since pleasant describes her personality and elderly describes general age, no comma necessary. If it said "A pleasant, jovial lady" then you'd use the commas since both describe personality. I think it's easiest to do as someone said above and ask yourself if you would or could put an "and" between them, or if you feel a pause is necessary in the sentence to separate thoughts. Although you possibly could put an "and" there, most people wouldn't say "pleasant and elderly" and I don't feel a pause is warranted there, so I think it's fine without it.
comma
In #2, it's because "multiple slcerosis cannot be exluded" is a whole sentence. Not sure about the first one.
comma before which?
Could someone please clarify for me when I need to use a comma before which? I looked it up in BOS but I need someone to explain it to me in plain English. Also, does anyone know if there is a feature in AutoCorrect to change 1 space between sentences into 2? TIA!
no comma after domed,
nm
WAS and Dr. Smith's, (comma)
just my 2 cents, but I think it's right.
comma usage
QA is correct; the commas do belong there, and it would be wrong to omit them. The first comma is a series of adjectives; the other comma is to separate two conjoined sentences.
Omit comma in your example.

Response to comma
Bless you. .I thought I was missing a "mandatory" BOS style change or something.  Thank you so much!!!
do you have a comma key on your keyboard?......nm
nm
I agree - comma if it's informal nd first name is used
and colon if they use the last name. (Dear Dr. Martin: or Dear John,). That's what I've always been told.
a comma doesn't belong there!
im glad you haven't done it after!!! :)
My best one says inverted comma for quotation marks.

Can some explain the grammar rule for comma use in --sm

in the following sentences?

1.  Stable, broad-based posterior disc bulge effacing the ventral aspect of the thecal sac with resultant mild to moderate bilateral neural foraminal narrowing.  Stable associated mild facet arthropathy.  --comma after small

2.  This is felt to most likely represent nonspecific demyelination, and multiple sclerosis cannot be excluded.  --comma after and

Was counted off for these by QA as 'necessary commas' but do not know why.

very bad syntax and is your keyboard missing the comma key?...m

when to put a comma before 'which', in plain English... ...
Some nonessential clauses begin with who, whom, which or that and include a verb.
Put a comma before those.

Example: The house, which is a very old house, is situated on 45-92 Grand Street.

Consider the commas as 'hooks.' The clause 'which is a very old house' could be 'unhooked' and dropped out of the sentence because it is not necessary to identify where the house is situated. It is merely extra information and not essential to the basic meaning of the sentence.

In all other cases do NOT put a comma.
Acc to my experience there are more cases that do NOT require a comma before 'which.' Also, the trend nowadays is to minimize the usage of commas and hyphens.

I feel left out! Nobody picked on my errant comma that shoulda been a semi colon.

If it's a business letter you use a colon. if it's a personal letter you use a comma. nm

You don't need to remove the key, remove the shortcut assigned to the key
in the customize keyboard dialog box.
Use the semicolon
Name it something like ;y with your expansion being
-year-old
MY QA took out the semicolon. What do you do?
He then underwent an ultrasound in March 1999; at which time, he was noted to have BPH.

Thanks in advance for your help!
I think she should have replaced the semicolon with a
comma and should have taken out the other comma you have in there.
Semicolon -- Am I Wrong?
The QA people in my company insist that a semicolon goes in the following sentence - I beg to differ. What's your take?
"He appeared comfortable; in no acute distress or pain."
I work QA and no way does a semicolon go there!
x
markers...I settled on semicolon (sm)
for phrases and the straight brackets, i.e. [, and ], for the word markers after playing around with it. I kept hitting the shift key when I tried to use / as a marker. For times when I want to use a semicolon, I made a short form jj (and now I don't remember why, but there WAS a reason, lol).

Anyway what's important is that you settle on what's comfortable for you. The markers were a big change for me, too. Good luck and keep trying! You can do it!
You don't need a macro. Just add a semicolon in front of
your yo abbreviation so autocorrect will back up and take out that space. Then type 34;yo and it will expand to 34-year-old.
Agree with this, shouldn't have a semicolon.
x
Use a semicolon prefix before your yo abbreviation, then you can
type 34;yo to get 34-year-old. There are lots of prefixes you can use--see SH's help file. BTW, this also works in autocorrect.
You only remove the ones you want to remove
the one with the i-d-i-o-t remark in it as you had already been asked to do.
Did they remove you from one account (sm)

and put you on a more difficult account?  It could be the bait and switch.  They might save the other account for favorites.

I have about 20 little hairs to remove. About how much

I had to remove one from the kitchen a little

It was the middle of the night, as I was walking towards the kitchen, I noticed the snake (maybe 14" long, maybe 2" in diameter) side winding towards the refrigerator.  I am a nature person but only to a certain degree, so don't want the snakes in my home or any reptile for that matter.  I bent down as far as I could with my arthritic hips, scooped the snake up into a dust pan with my arthritic fingers as fast as I could (which wasn't very fast) and walked it up my very steep driveway towards a nearby drain.  I didn't want to kill it, just get it far away from the house as I could.  I never heard from it again.  However, I have bird feeders near the house and maybe that is why I had to even deal with it being in my home in the first place.  Not much of a reptile or insect person.  I remove the lizards from the house too instead of killing but will spray or destroy insects.

Potatoes might help...Then remove them.
Good luck.
They had to remove "American"
from their name because it's no longer an American association - but where is the integrity the claim?
Remove Spyware...
The best method for removing Spyware is called "Spybot Search and Destroy" It is available from downloads.com. http://www.download.com/3001-8022_4-10804822.html that page will start the download right away, it's a safe link. It is also a free program. Spybot will clean the PC, and when you run the "immunize" program it will keep things safer. Also if you install "Teatimer" which is included, it will warn you if something is trying to make a change, such as a website that tries to change your home page or add to the registry. Teatimer can become annoying when you are installing software though, because it pops up every time the new software tries to make a change to warn you, and you have to click "approve change" if you're in the middle of installing something.

On another note, I have found that just running Firefox instead of Internet Explorer has saved me from many problems as well.

My 2 cents.
I cannot remove DQS for a year now

I have been unable to uninstall DocQScribe for a year now from my computer.

Has anyone else had these problem or can help me remove DQS from my computer.

I have already tried to removed from the program's list under the startup button as well as the add/remove program section.  I keep getting an error message not allowing me to remove the program from my computer.

Thanks.

TIA.

I went into add/remove programs, then had to go into
start and search, and it still was coming back. If you Google you can find out how others have gotten rid of it also, that helped me a lot. OMG - that is awful, isnt it, that message that keeps coming up haha,

happy 'deleting'

VR and ASR will never EVER replace MTs
I have done reports, in fact one just now, where the dictator jumped three or four different times from the hospital course to the diagnosis.  How is a voice rec machine going to pick this up and put it in the right format?  Also, the other day I had a doc that dictated a surgery on both the left and right foot....although in the diagnosis it was the right foot only. I get docs who are confuses as to gender of patient, says he...she...he...then she through the report.   And again, more than once a day, I get a doc who talks on the phone as loud as he is dictating.  Won't the machines pick this up?  What about period as opposed to the actual symbol period?  I don't care what you say, we will not be replaced!!!  Not possible.
Do a Replace.

Edit, Replace. Search for .(one space) and replace with .(two spaces) You can also write a macro to do this for you.

You may want to replace your

PS in example just replace Alt J with f3 if that is the you want to go
nm
Why replace them?? Don't you know
x
i used to replace them
just as soon as a new edition came out. Now, am only updating my most used ones, which include the surgical book. i've been at this 30 yr, and do use the I/N for lots of research, but prefer the books, where i can make notes, highlight, etc. I find them more reliable and quick than the I/N in may circumstances.
EMR will replace some
some MTSO. Our local hospital here is using eRecord which allows the doctor to dictate into certain fields and requires in-house transcriptionist/secretary to go in and transcribe directly into EMR. However, at my old group of hospitals in prior state I lived the EMR we had incorporated DolbeySTAT into the EMR so it depends on the hospital
Ugh, no. I would remove it from the house if I dared.
I do have to keep books out of the office, though.
Administrator: Can you remove the link for me?
I put the link for the Spheris article below, without realizing how long it was! Can you remove it as it is distorting my page?! Thanks!!
I use Registry Mechanic and it does remove--
old and unwanted/unneeded registries from your registry. What you saw was probably just an advertisement and had not actually run a scan. It is good to have a program that does scan and clean out your registry though, as it frees up much needed hard drive space and keeps unwanted invaders that creep into your registry unknown by you when you visit other sites. I don't know anything about the program that was advertised to you though. Just my experiences.
how do I remove page break?
in MW Word.  I should know this, but apparently I do not.  Thank you.
