2:55 am Only 1 miner survived!
Now they have confirmed that only the 1 young miner survived and he is in critical condition. This just is a horrible tragedy on tragedy with these families being so elated for hours.
Now more than ever, these families need as many prayers as possible to get through this horrible tragedy.

I do VR and absolutely love it. I totally understand where you are coming from. I really dislike it when I get the occasional straight report, even though paid at twice the rate. I would take VR all day long if I had the choice in my job. Escription is a wonderful platform. Why did you leave in the first place?
I started a few weeks ago, and pay has fallen.
We're all told we can double our line rates. And we'd have to just to stay at pace with our old line rate, since speech is paid at half the usual line rate. While I can get more lines per hour with speech, I'm not doubling my line counts. Occasionally, I can get a few reports done in half the time, and then BAM, a horrible dictator pops up, and the line count falls.
I find that I'm more stressed and angry and I sit here trying to find ways to increase my line rate. It's like being on a treadmill running faster and faster just to stay in the same place.

Say what you will, but I did "walk into" this after being a nurse and I have not fallen flat o
face. In fact, I have been an MT for about seven years now (not a long time, but long enough to realize that I haven't fallen flat on my face). I enjoy my job and I do it very well. Not everybody can do this, but I can and my nursing helped me tremendously.

Holloway & Twitty Families
I feel sorry for both of the families, but just because you want an answer doesn't make people guility because you think they are. Women disappear in the US ALL THE TIME and no one cares because they arent' young, blonde, and come from money. It doesn't make their lives less than Holloway's. She used bad judgment, her parents used bad judgment. Does anyone know of a 17-year-old girl who behaves "correctly" in an atmosphere like Aruba? They let their daughter go to a "foreign country" unchaperoned. They used bad judgment and now they are looking for someone to point a finger at to take the guilt off their backs. Holloway's mother has no right to throw a temper tantrum about the Aruban system. She's not in Kansas anymore!!! Said to say, but she needs to come to grips with reality.
some families drink to deal with each other
There is a lot going on underneath the scenes, a lot of hurt feelings not dealt with, a lot of hostility, past differences not completely resolved. All together in one house, the roof would fly off with all the pent up tension. Alcohol smooths it out.

I think the majority of families in America are dysfunctional nowadays!
I have yet to find or meet a functional family.
My little family of 4, meaning me, my husband and 2 children are functional, but when you add in my side of the family, 5 siblings, and his side of the family 5 siblings, it becomes totally dysfunctional. Go figure!
I can only do the best with my own little family of 4 and keep us a functional, caring, productive family giving back to society in a positive meaningful way. I can not control the siblings or extended cousins, etc.
It is my goal to keep my little family of 4 functionally intact forever!
My sympathy was reserved for the women and families they betrayed. sm

Most families struggle. This is when you make too much for food stamps, but need help and sm
besides, volunteering in your community is a GOOD THING. You can volunteer, pay for the box and give to a family who is in need. Many, many people did that. An older person who is on a fixed income and who can't get food stamps would likely welcome a box on a monthly basis. This time of year, all the food banks around the country are in need because it is not a holiday, so few give and the need is greater every month. It doesn't have to be for your family.
My friends with large families shop at Walmart. I don't. I can't compare
prices or taste. These are not ignorant poor folk who don't know better shopping at Walmart. Walmart has definitely cut into the supermarkets business. Bottom line here folks, people are making Walmart successful and they keep growing. Not for nothing are people shopping at Walmart. They have to be offering something to the shopper.

I start to brace at night. Believe it or not it helps. Warm soaks help too, take a potty break and run under warm water.
I'm sure it would come as a relief to be fired.

tendonitis relief
I'm looking for ideas for symptomatic relief of tendonitis, sleeping in a brace doesn't seem to be helping much. The pain started in my left pinky finger and is now traveling up toward my elbow. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

pain relief
A conservative measure would be to purchase an ergonomic chair, if you are not already using one. They are costly, but work well in alleviating alot of the 'stress points' while transcribing. If you want information on where to purchase one, please contact me.

from the other posts I thought perhaps not supposed to claim things for the work I have done at home, even at regular employee. I am spoiled by getting full check but know I have to start putting money back soon.

on your situation, you can do this yourself through an offer in compromise. Most are a scam or a ruse to flush out people who do not pay taxes. I answered an ad on TV for NADN for help with taxes, and ended up with someone from the Treasury Department at my front door. That was just the beginning of my nightmare.

I have tendonitis along with RHA. When my elbow flares up (as it's doing now), I pop the ibuprofen, use a gel wrap for "tennis elbow" you can pick up in the drug stores and try to limit my heavy movement with that one.
That said, I have to have it along with my hip injected 3-4 times a year. Not sure if my rheumy is just the best or not but I've never had any pain with the steroid injections. I call him slick and the relief is almost instant, no more tears from the pain. HTH

For temporary relief, try Salonpas patches SM
I have chronic back pain and went through the chronic pain classes with my HMO. The spine surgeon suggested trying Salonpas patches. I didn't think they would help at all, but they did give me some temporary relief. I feel they work as well as the expensive "name brand" heat patches you can buy, although if I am going to be on an airplane, I wear one of those bigger and longer lasting patches. The Salonpas are about 2 x 3 inches, flat, have a pleasant odor, and I have used them on my back, on the wrists, and one time even on my face for a sinus-type headache. (My daughter says I was crazy to do that, but it helped). You can buy a box of the Salonpas very reasonably at any drugstore but they are VERY cheap at Sam's Club or Costco. It is really awful to have to transcribe (or do any work) when it causes pain. I hope some of these suggestions others have made will help you. I have used the type of neck pad that you heat in the microwave, but that was a long time ago. I just saw them on the Mouse Mitts site, thanks to the MT who posted the link. I'm going to order another one of those right away. There are a lot of helpful people out there. Take care...

My kiddos start school next Wed and I'm not ashamed to say it will be a relief. My teenaged son
gives me hourly updates on his boredom every single day. Now, my daughter is starting kindergarten this year and I will be sad probably the first week because she's my baby - my last baby - but she is sooooo ready for school. She just can't wait. Maybe I should be the one with hurt feelings since she can't way to leave me! 
I highly doubt my son's feelings are hurt when I say "Just think, you won't be bored when school starts."

We've never even actually met him in person, but he is my husbands best friend's only sibling and my husband's friend was going through such a horrible time waiting and wondering that he couldn't even go to work. We only wish everybody could have good news.

asking for prayers
I just learned that my boss's daugher-in-law and grand-daughter were involved in a horrendous car accident. The DIL suffered many fractured bones, on top of a pre-existing MS condition. However, the grand-daughter may die, and even if she survives she will likely have severe brain damage.
Can those of who you believe in a high power keep this family in your thoughts and prayers?
