I worked for many years as a Radiology Transcriptionist then left to stay home with my kids. When I did decide to get back into the field it was almost impossible. I ended up enrolling at M-Tec so that I could become more employable. I can tell you there is a big difference between the two. You have to be very well rounded to do hospital work and very knowledgeable with regards to anatomy, terminology, drugs, etc... I loved radiology but I can tell you I absolutely prefer acute care. For me it is something new every day and the work is never boring. I think it will be hard to switch over but always worth checking into. Maybe ask them if you could try testing so that you can see what you are getting into. Good luck.
