You misunderstood what you read on AHDI's site. They do not allow anyone to take the CMT unless they have a minimum of 2 years acute care transcription experience. This exam is considered a level 2 exam. The RMT is for recent grads of MT programs and also MT's with less than the necessary 2 years of acute care experience. The RMT is a level 1 exam. If you already have your CMT credential you are not eligible for the RMT.
