I am about to accept a position with Precyse Solutions.  I'm leaving the company I was with because they run out of work too frequently.  I had no work at all last week and I need to pay bills.  Can anyone tell me if Precyse is as great as it sounds?   Thanks,  JW ');>

Isn't there something someone can do about FALSE ADVERTISING?
I used to QA at Precyse Solutions
and can tell you that the offshore work went through several layers of their own QA and still would have major errors when I got it. I can only imagine how horrible the reports are before their QA edits them.

I got sick of doing QA on the offshore reports and left.
Feedback on Precyse Solutions?

Does anybody know anything good or bad about this company?  I am looking for a good MT employment position, and I have been burned before (by Voice Systems--they don't pay!).

PRECYSE SOLUTIONS---PS MT EXASPERATED--SM

Tonight an ad posted on MT Jobs 03/24/2006 claims tons of work available, yet I know for a fact quite a few MTs have had little to no work for 4 out of the last 6 weeks.  Any current PS MTs out there having the same problem?  If so, do you have any insight as to why?

Any Info on Precyse Solutions?
Just curious if anyone knows what may be happening at Precyse Solutions.  I have heard they are cutting back on their benefits, as in not matching 401K plan any longer.  Is it possible they are being approached by a buyer and cutting back to beef up their profit margin?  I was looking into working for them, but if there is instability there, I'd rather weigh my options more carefully.
Precyse QA
Can anyone tell me how the QA is with this company? I know their QA head person came from Edix and I remember that Edix had gotten to the point you would lose points if you put a comma where they didn't think you needed one.

How long were you with the other company? My company runs out of work often too. What company are you leaving if you don't mind me asking? I may work for the same! Let us know how precyse works out for you.

I don't know anything about this company, but I found the following in archives, hope this helps:

I've worked for Precyse for 3 years and have been in the MT profession for 22+ years.

What I like best about this company: They let me do my job. I chose my shift, I do my job and provide 99% to 100% accuracy on my QA audits, which means they leave me be. I don't have to deal with petty complaints, cherry picking, or jumping around. I have been working on the same 2 accounts the entire time I have been there, which for some reason escapes other nationals what an advantage it is to keep people where they can be most efficient and productive (good for the company, good for the MT). They pay me well and on time, offer bonuses and appreciation gifts. My PC has never been down, so I do not lose time on technical issues---big plus. They don't call me every day asking me to work extra, maybe an Email occasionally, but do not drive me crazy calling or making me feel guilty. In return, they can depend on me to be at my PC when I am scheduled and to produce what is needed.

What I do not like about Precyse: Good question. I'm a pretty happy camper, and that's saying a lot in this business!

I like the fact that I do my job, I'm paid well, and I'm left alone. Computer downtime maybe for 15 minutes here and there, but that is maybe once in a blue moon. I also love their payroll system. They have a system where timesheets are entered online, you can withdraw PTO from your personal account anytime you want to, and you can check online to see what your check will be a few days before it is actually deposited in your account. So you can budget and plan accordingly. Also, great people to work with. Everyone is a team, and management is extremely helpful. I won't paint Precyse as the "perfect" company, but honestly I don't have any complaints working for them.

I would rather not name the company I am leaving.  I haven't notified them yet that I'm leaving (the owner is in Hawaii at the AAMC convention) and my e-mail address is somewhat obvious.  I'm fairly new as far as working from home.  I only started from home at the end of December 2004.  Prior to that I worked in-house at a clinic.   When I took this job,  the owner said I would NEVER run out of work.  Unfortunately I have, and more than once.   I will let you know what happens with Precyse.  JW

DSG and Precyse to name 2

Not Precyse. No way, never.
Just thinking about Precyse creeps me out. Managers double dip and transcribe leaving the ugly work for MTs.

Thanks for the info! I'd like to start out part-time with a company and then if everything goes well, go full-time. I just don't want to leave my present company in case things are worse elsewhere. :)

That is what I did. I was working FT for a hospital and then I thought I wanted to retire and I just worked PT for Precyse while I had my full-time job. I stayed at Precyse for about 1-1/2 years and then got back into a hospital as a full-time employee getting paid by the hour plus incentive. Pauline

Can anyone tell me anything about a company called MT Solutions.

Thanks.

Thank you very much for some solutions.

There are some good ideas here. I just may try all of them and see which one "fits" me better. I have the feeling the CapsLock key taping will be the best of 'em all, but I really hope to remember the highlight, Shift F3. That will be my first to try.

Thank you again. You guys are great.

Can find Spheris, Precyse only if 37K or faster, & SoftScript so far. Sorry. nm

Does anyone work for this company, or know anything about them, good or bad? Thanks
Transcription Solutions
I am not sure which it is. Do you know anything on either company?

The harder you work, the more you get paid. Make sense?

Your question should be directed to the recruiter though I find it difficult to understand, if you have been offered a position then certainly you have seen the paperwork, which explains it all.

For pete's (and everyone else's) sake, look it up.

This is a do it yourself-er. :)

I heard from this company and I am wondering how the pay works out since they pay based on so many words typed per day.  Any TS-ers out there who can explain how this works?  I counted one of my daily files the way I get paid now and how they pay and it came to considerably less, so I am curious as to how it actually works.

pet hair/clawing solutions
I'll probably get reamed for this, but spray them with a water bottle.  It usually doesnt take long for them to catch on, and after a couple days, all you need to do is show them the bottle and they will go running.  I hated that idea for the longest time, watched a friend of mine do it, and I just let them claw everything to shreds, but I bought new furniture, and decided to put a stop to it.  Just make sure you have something that they can claw, like those card board claw boxes for cats they sell at the pet store.  For the fur I use a lint brush, or a fabric softener sheet sometimes works.

Ask for Dan Gaskin. We have been using it for about 6 months now and love it.

It does custom templates, archiving, autosubmission to FTP for delivery to client, line counting, and reports for invoicing. Even has the ability for importing demographics from ADT feed. Creates databases for patient demographics categorized by client/dictator. Easily customizable for any setup - MTSO, clinic, or acute care.

Even has an editors version for QA/proofing with customizable QA scoring, redlining with delivery of redlines to MTs, and much much more!

Tell him that Robin sent you.

Check out Network Solutions.
They will register your domain name for you as well as host your site. They're also readily available if you have any questions. I went with them on the recommendation of a friend who is a website designer and have been very happy with my decision. It was pretty easy to design my website on their site as well. Their website address is below. Feel free to email me if you have further questions. momtypes @ comcast.net

Superior Global Solutions and Futurenet...sm

I heard Superior Global Solutions does not get your pay to you.  Futurenet, I have read here does not have any benefits and runs out of work.  Also here are a few other bad ones I have seen and read on here:  SoftScript, Spheris, and good/bad about Transcend.

The good ones in which I have read have been all of the MDIs.  Have not had any experience with them though..Good luck!

Excruciating heel pain from foot pedal. Has anyone had this problem? Any solutions? (sm)

My heels hurt so bad after several hours of using my foot pedal that I can hardly work.  It is due to resting my heel on the floor and tapping the foot pedal all day long.  After a weekend of rest the pain will subside, but flares back up during the week.  Any suggestions as what I can do?

The Difference between Focusing on Problems and Focusing on Solutions

The Difference between Focusing on Problems and Focusing on Solutions

Case 1

When NASA began the launch of astronauts into space, they found out
that the pens wouldn't work at zero gravity (ink won't flow down to the
writing surface). To solve this problem, it took them one decade and
$12million.

They developed a pen that worked at zero gravity, upside down,
underwater, in practically any surface including crystal and in a
temperature range from below freezing to over 300 degrees C.
And what did the Russians do...??

They used a pencil.

Case 2

One of the most memorable case studies on Japanese management was
the case of the empty soap box, which happened in one of Japan's biggest
cosmetics companies. The company received a complaint that a
consumer  had bought a soap box that was empty. Immediately the authorities
isolated the problem to the assembly line, which transported all the
packaged boxes of soap to the delivery department. For some reason,
one soap box went through the assembly line empty. Management asked its
engineers to solve the problem. Post-haste, the engineers worked hard
to devise an X-ray machine with high-resolution monitors manned by two
people to watch all the soap boxes that passed through the line to make sure
they were not empty.

No doubt, they worked hard and they worked fast but they spent a
whoopee amount to do so. But when a rank-and-file employee in a small company
was posed with the same problem, he did not get into complications of X-rays,
etc., but instead came out with another solution. He bought a strong
industrial electric fan and pointed it at the assembly line. He switched the
fan on, and as each soap box passed the fan, it simply blew the empty
boxes out of the line.

Moral
Always look for simple solutions. Devise the simplest possible solution.
