Chartscript and Smart Type will not work together.  Smart Type requires a Word client like Extext, MTWorld, MedRiteXL and a couple of others.

You need to link InstanText to Chartscript. I can't remember where it is in the drop down menus, but it is there.  Look under "File" and see if the linker is there.  Someone who actually uses IT could tell you better.

Now, having burst your bubble, the good news that you CAN use your SmartType libraries with IT.  It has a built in converter and ST is one of the ones it will convert.  All is not lost.
