PLEASE! Let's suppose a supervisor works an 8 hour day on and off. At home.

What does this supervisor do? So I have a supervisor now see. Every now and again I will get an e-mail that tells me account is behind or caught up. Not on a daily basis and sometimes not even on a weekly basis. Now besides looking into the computer to see account is behind or up to date, what does this supervisor do in the course of an on and off 8 hour day?
I am assuming this "supervisor" is not doing QA or anything, just supervising an account. So any questions regarding QA are sent off to QA personnel. So what questions can a supervisor have that would tie up their day? EIGHT HOURS of a working day doing what?

I do not think that 8 hour a day supervisor is typical at all.

It works out to around $38 per hour
depending on the dictator. I don't get benefits, though.
And the dad works from home!!!
Scotty's dad works from home!! How is his work more important than mine. Also the wife supports him and he barely works but only a few of us know that. He is just LAZY and figures I'm going to drive anyway, why not help his lazy butt out.
Anyone who works at home with little ones is an angel. sm
I always wanted to try it when my kids were small, but knew it wouldn't work. I have to laugh at the "he said, she said" comment. My boys are now 28, 22, and 19. All three of them at home when they were small was like a lesson in mob action. Add to that the neighbor boys-5 of them-all the same age as my children and our neck of the woods was a war zone. I was lucky I could go to the bathroom without courting disaster and that was a big IF. I look back and wonder how I lived through it. We have good story telling time now, though........... So, anyone who manages to work at home with their children gets the halo of the day from me.
Poster says she works from home
I bought my condo where I have a home office (35 y/o bldg) at one price and it has nearly doubled because of the area I live in. As I read it, the poster stated her house......
I think I misstated it - the at home people live within an hour of the hospital - sm
this is what the hospital is absolutely positively trying to avoid - having people all over the country doing the job. If the equipment breaks, if there are meetings, etc. - these cannot be done with transcriptionists all of the country.
I do radiology now, paid by the hour, work from home, can it get any easier than that?
i am an inhouse hospital transcriptionist who works at home
I am an in house hospital transcription who works at home. I get 19.00 an hour plus incentive pay which is 7 cents a line after 1,000 lines. and 7.5 cents after 1,500 lines.
RE: I totally agree!! I work at home can came make upwards or $25+ per hour (sm)
Where outside of my home could I make that money, not have to pay gas, buy extra clothes, etc. I am very happy right where I'm at.
It is nearly essential to be a computer tech when one works at home. Sorry. Can't help. Feel your

I have 13 years experience and just started a hospital job working from home making $16 an hour
and with a really good incentive plan. I live in the Kansas City area. $10 seems like a low starting point even with only two years experience which is the usual benchmark for hospital MT jobs.
It's been my experience that the low end of the pay scale for hospital employed MTs was around $12 an hour. Also, it's been my experience that the pay offered is usually based on years of experience and how well you perform on the transcription test.
I would say if their pay is that low, they should at least be making it up with incentive and it doesn't sound like they are.

Working full time at home with small children is hard but part time works great
is almost impossible. You will either have to work when your spouse is home or for only a few hours during the day and then more when they are asleep. I work part time at home and my kids (2&5 now) have done very, very well. They are great kids, very well behaved, don't get into much. I stop working to check on them/give them some attention every hour or so while I work (5 hours each afternoon or so) and they get all my attention in the morning and at night. It has worked out beautifully for us.
what is that suppose to mean sm
about disabled people did not need to belong to AAMT? I hope that statement is why she is no longer there. I don't know what she had in mind as a "disability" and it does not matter, but there are foks with chronic illnesses who are "disabled" but can still work shorter hours etc. Good thing she is no longer with AAMT. What an idiot.
Maybe I'm not suppose to ask this, but....
Would anyone be willing to give me the ballpark range for what contractors charge their clients in Florida.....like 13-15 cpl. Also anyone from California with the same information?
I am just starting out and I don't want to low-ball anyone! Thanks!
and through all this where is AAMT who is suppose....sm
to be helping us... why their just making sure we have to buy their book ... what a crockapalosa!!
Oy. And I suppose it's verbatim.
So then you have to ask if you are supposed to leave the stoopid stuff in or take it out??
I suppose ignoring
such comments would be the best approach, but it gets extremely annoying to see these. And, sometimes people aren't aware of their own bad habits and brining it to their attention could help.
Sometimes not.
I suppose theoretically it's possible
If you're really fast and can average 300 lph or more and are making at least 10 cpl.
I hate to see them mislead people like that though. It takes a long time to build up that kind of speed. There are people on this board who say they can do it, though.
I just keep Norton I suppose and never checked into anything else.
:
Cannot believe that show is on A&E. Supposedly he is suppose to
aa
Does anyone suppose that with all the advances in technology that
there might be some more companies willing to take those MT's who only have satellite in the future? There are so few now. Really limits a person's options. Wadyathink? MTSO's - any response??
Misread the question I suppose. Sorry! Don't have a cow. nm

OOPS! This was suppose to answer
/
was it suppose to come with a headset, how do you work without it.
nm
I mean, was it suppose to have a display? if so, then return it
nm
I suppose all the work that is outsourced
Makes no sense. What do they expect for 7-10 cpl?
Yeah, and I suppose I probably offended
some newbies, too. I didn't mean to. I know what I was thinking in my head but I didn't communicate that in my message post.
Depends on the pay and account. My lowest average is $15.52 an hour (roughly 182.6 lines an hour) w
;'
1850 lines per 8 hour shift. 15.00 hour - no real requirement

And I suppose we shouldn't call murders such, huh? Or ...
sex offenders pedophiles...or adulterers cheaters...OH MY! We might be UGLY when we do it!
Go on now, and crawl back into your little fantasy world of how nice everyone should be. LOL GEeeeezzzzz.
it was a USPO MO, but it can't hurt to check I suppose, thanks for the tip. - nm
By today's appallingly lax MT standards, I suppose a few -
:D MT as a profession is turning into such a JOKE, isn't it?
I suppose given a choice I'll take DRUNK!

I suppose a good object lesson
would have been, just once, to type exactly what he said, down to every repetition. Wouldn't if feel good do do that just one time? I mean, it would be 'verbatim.'
Often I will go ahead and type both versions when someone keeps mis-speaking: 'The patient was brought to the ER by his friend, his girlfriend, his fiance. He had onset of pain on Tuesday, or maybe Wednesday, Tuesday night or Wednesday morning....' Hard to tell with some of these dictators what they are trying to change/add/subtract.
So far there have been no QA repercussions over this.
if it is feasable, split that 6-hour shift into two 3-hour shifts. sm
i work a split shift and find that i am much better able to stay focused and get more work done that way. also, being 3 months pregnant you have gone through the very tiring time of pregnancy and you should start seeing an energy perk before long.
last post suppose to be ad, not as directed. Word expander was on.
Sorry.
On this new MQ rewards plan what exactly is it offering statutory employees and I suppose that that
is going to be the end of our quarterly bonus. My concern still is if there is no work how do you get any incentive if they lower the base rate. Sounds like employees will have a larger window to get their work done which means we all will be scrambling around for work at all hours.
And I suppose you're perfect in everything you do? No one was making light of the woman's sit
XP is probably pretty cheap now. Microsoft suppose to be coming out with new OS at end of year.

So you get a flash drive with voice files on it you are suppose to transcribe?
I'm trying to understand. Do you save the transcribed reports on the same jump drive? If that is the protocol, then wouldn't the MT before you typed any reports, then wouldn't they be saved to the flash drive?
If so, then you could open up the flash drive and if there are any Word files or text files, you open those up and see what they are. If they are transcribed reports, write the patient's name down and don't transcribe those notes.
Whatever the case may be, I would absolutely tell the office manager or whoever you are meeting with that you will type everything on the flash drive and that you expect to be paid for everything you type. You gave them freebies the last time and you're in this business to make money.
I start an hour or 2 early and then take an hour or 2 for dinner -nm

At 200 lines a day for 6 cents, you are making $1.20 a day or 0.15 hour for an 8 hour day!!!--cm
Did you mean 2,000? Even then you would only be making $1.50 if you work 8 hours a day.
$32/hour? You said $36/hour on an earlier post. Either way would be great. n/m
xx
Full Word is in the Works "Suite," not plain Works.
Works saves files in a different format, but you can open them in Word if you have the correct filter installed.
RIGHT!!! Someone who works 16 hours and someone who works 60 will have a HUGE difference. NM
.
10 reports/hour or 25 markers/hour
NM
I appreciate your responses. I had an option of line vs hour ($14/hour) but if line pays more...nm
nm
Except my supervisor is NOT an MT
And anyway, our experiences are just different.
I think if I was being routed crap, yeah, I'd be pissed. I'm just saying routing, or reserved as someone pointed out, isn't ALWAYS a bad thing.
It's not cherry picking if the folks who do the routing aren't transcribing. And at my place they're not. Trust me, I ask them questions and they have no idea what I'm talking about. They're admin people, not MTs.
MQ supervisor
Mine is a wonderful lady, helpful, funny, hard-working. I think Atlanta has the best staff in the country.
Not unless they are actually your QA supervisor.
/
Tell your supervisor!
Do you work for a company that is located in Massachusetts? I won't say the name....most pathetic QA on the planet.
