I downloaded it for free on one of my computers. Programmers are allowed to "improve" the program and distribute it for a fee. This is the main difference (other than price) in OpenOffice and Microsoft. You also can transfer it to as many computers as you wish. It is supposed to have components comparable to all of the components of MS Office. I have not had time to really check it out yet. I don't know yet how well documents created in Writer will transfer to clients who will open them in Word. I have Office on my other computer and my laptop, and I do intend to check it all out.

I use OpenOffice with the same results. sm
I do the same thing in open office. I cut and paste every report into one document, check character count, and divide by 65. It always comes out close, in my favor.
I think the reason it comes out with more than what DQS does is because we do get paid for any demographics we have to type in ourselves, like dates, or if the demos don't import.
But I still have trouble doing the lines I did before DQS.
Has anyone heard of Openoffice.org?
In a search for Microsoft Excel; it seems I have found the generic version of Microsoft Office, available for less than $20.00.
This is called openoffice.org and has EVERYTHING you could imagine for creating documents, etc. I'm all about saving pennies, but I don't want to make a big mistake with copywrite infringement or putting bad software on my computer.
Anyone familiar?
Has anyone tried using OpenOffice.org with EditScript?
Just wondering if it will work.
