amount depends on the company and/or your experience, QA scoring, etc. I have never been with a company that gives 1 cpl raises, though. More like quarter cent to half cent per line, but I'm sure there are exceptions! Not saying you don't deserve it, but I think the companies like to streeeeeeeeeeeeeeetch it out!!

I feel for you....been there. Actually, I got my first break this time of year, doing p.r.n. work for offices that had MTs out on vacation. Get your phone book and start calling, see who might need you for a week at a time, a few months (maternity leave, sickness, etc.) You'd be surprised what it leads to. I sure wish you the best of luck with it.

Try running your Spyware and virus software - I had virus on my computer that shut the internet down, ran the above software and that deleted the virus. good luck.
Timing is just great
Right before Christmas. Gas prices are sky high. Company hires far too many MTs in the first place. On and on. Where do they find these people (management). How do they sleep at night. What kind of drug do they take that makes them completely dead to any morals at all. Has to be a drug. Definitely an epidemic. Maybe that's is, maybe it is a disease that literally eat away all sense of right and wrong.
you know as couples go, angelina and billy bob were perfect skanks for each other. perfect!
i suspect they may get back together because they are both so skanky no one else can keep up. that is unless she decides she wants her brother more which is skankier.

Michael Moore's latest movie, "Sicko". This time he takes in the inequity and outright greed in the healthcare industry in the U.S. Sure, some of it is bound to be a bit sensational, like when he takes a bunch of U.S. 911-first-responders down to Guantanamo, but I'm sure there will be many aspects of this movie that will bring other aspects of healthcare besides just going to see a doctor into the public eye. He had some insiders talking in the movie, too. That's one I'm going to have to see! If ever there were a time to state our case, this just might be it. 
MT ANNIVERSARY
Just wanted to say hello to all and say that I have reached my first year in the MT profession. I had always thought about doing this, worked in retail, which I hated, and wanted to be more available for my kids. I have to say I do love it. I have always loved typing, weird I know, so this is obviously perfect! To everyone out there going to school, good luck and hang in there. To those newbies still looking for a job, keep testing...something will come along!! It is hard for me to believe that just a year ago, I was so slowwww and so nervous, it seems like forever ago. I remember thinking how does anyone make a living at this! While I only work part time, it has become a great second income to our home. Again hang in there newbies!
DH anniversary gift
One year my sister had some very beautiful "beaudoir" photos taken that she gave her husband for an anniversary gift and he was nuts about them. They were all taken by a very reputable photographer, all the shots were tasteful and nothing X-rated was exposed or showing. One showed her very covered up with a red feather boa, you could see her bare shoulders and her bare legs, but not much else; another showed her kneeling in an unmade bed covered in all the important places by a sheet. She had 4 taken in different poses and different settings. They were some of the best photos I've ever seen of her. They hung them in their bedroom so that they were kept private, but they were beautiful enough and tasteful enough that she showed them to family and close friends. From what her photographer said, quite a few women have this type of photo taken for their significant others. Just another idea to ponder. :)

The one by me is having an anniversary special -sm
I believe it is 1 year since they opened up. $29 a month, and the normal $149 membership fee is discounted to $49 ($100 off) for the first 100 that sign up this month. So I figured that is a good deal, plus my neighbor and I will support each other. She is very competitive so she will keep us both going. They have monthly contests there as well. I am planning to go either this afternoon to check it out or go with her tonight and sign up. I need to lose this weight before it starts affecting my health in any major ways (get out of breath with minimal exertion though) but that will not last. Plus I'd love to go up to my dad's at Christmas and be 40+ pounds lighter, I'd still be overweight but I know I'd look a lot better.

Union diesil mechanic - good pay, great benefits. We swap year to year on who brings home more sm
money.....but I am an IC and he has all the benefits...health insurance/dental that the company pays for, pension plan, 401k, etc. Factor all of that in and he makes way more than I do.
to cowgirl - Last I knew, last year the job paid $25,000/year no taxes, etc.
The hospital was bombed about a year ago, but not a lot of damage, very minimal damage.

After I went to a 1-year MT course at a vocational school, it was so bad that I did the 2-year colle
Not only did I finally receive the proper training, but the woman on the advisory board hired and mentored me. I also joined the local AAMT and networked. Good luck. I know how frustrating it can be. A community college will have a good program to include medical language, MT courses taught by local MTSOs, business English, anatomy and physiology, pathophysiology, etc.
But perhaps you should! Eye are not perfect! (as above)

well i'm glad you've never made a mistake or wrong decision in your life. you have no idea what went through his head while he was there, and you have no idea what his situation was, or how he was feeling or anything. i wish my husband could be as perfect as you. ha, but then he would also be heartless.
Of course, nobody is perfect
but when your rate of pay depends on your QA score and you have endless pages of style guides to memorize, then one would expect the QA people to already know all of that information. I have done QA in the past as well and what I didn't remember, I would look up and many times learned things from the MT!!

Why? Because I love this job and doing it from home just makes it so much better. I get to work in my jammies without makeup, deciding what to wear, traffic, long lines at the donut shop, fighting for the optimal parking spot, office politics, the boss's "favorite", backstabbing, nit picking, monitored bathroom breaks and phone calls, etc. I do acute care for a large hospital and every report is different. It keeps my brain motivated and my fingers moving. It ain't perfect, but I love it.

do a search on Company Board, not under Google, but under MTStars. They use Emdat platform, which a lot of people do not like. I feel there is a turnover there, as the same jobs are advertised always. They are IC.

I had a doctor tell me that he got a report back with fecal sac. He laughed when he told the story. It can happen to the best of us. Try not to let it get you down.
I think he makes $700,000.00 a year, and if they ask him to walk before his first year MQ has...sm

P.S. This does not include the perks, like expense account, car allowance, sign-on bonus, etc.
Our 16 year old son has been working for a year now to pay for his truck.
He's learning how to sand and do body work and how the engine and transmission go together. My parents didn't buy cars for my siblings and I either. I had a 20+ year old beater car until I could afford to move up to a a newer one.
I see all the nice new cars parked in the high school parking lot every day. It's nice that so many disrespectful punk kids get handed something nicer to drive than what all the teachers drive. Oh, well. Honestly, I think most of them borrow Mommy or Daddy's car or are the child of a doctor who can afford to hand them everything.
Hopefully, my kids will take better care of their cars because they bought and built them on their own. You're not going to grow up to be responsible if you don't work hard for something and expect Mommy and Daddy to bail you out all the time.
Oh, my Dad lectured us on even allowing our child to have a vehicle because Dad didn't have one until after he had worked his way through college, lettered on the football team, got straight As, lettered on the baseball team, yadda yadda. He either walked or hitched a ride. Yeah, well, times were different back then, Daddy-O. LOL At least my kid has the opportunity to work and earn his own car.
