I tell you, the day I have my belly button pierced will be the day I get my nose pierced, with a big thick gold ring through my nostrils like those women in the Indian tribes in Africa have! hehehehehe! And at the same time I do that, I'm just going to go completely for broke and have them pull my bottom lip down below my chin and stick a gold ring in that, too!

Oh my goodness!! sm
You don't know what you're asking for! Take it easy? Your aching fingers may not ache so much but I can promise you will trade aching fingers for a seriously aching HEAD. A GOOD supervisor will work twice as hard and twice as long as she/he will ever ask of anyone working under her/him. If you're looking for easy street please do yourself a favor and forget looking for a supervisory position. (Unless of course you have the wherewithall to buy out Frank) maybe then you could vacation in the Bahamas and just count your cash.
My Goodness!
You are so funny. It's good to have a laugh at these morons' expense.
Oh my goodness sm
Yes, they're always still young 'uns, my youngest is 36 but still my baby and I'm the only one in the world allowed to call him "Billy." LOL Your post just so reminded me of my kids, I guess. 2 boys and 2 girls. I've started Christmas baking and I guess I'm missing the 8 little hands "helping me." Doing it now in perfectly orderly fashion with no flour all over the kitchen. The big ones and the little grandkids are far away so I wouldn't mind a little noise, but believe me, I know how aggravating it can be with the crappy dictators. I've been having some of those myself (it's a full moon ya know). On the good side, I can swear at my computer screen as loud as I want and today that has been PRETTY loud. Hope tomorrow will be better for you.
My goodness...
Now I want a housekeeper! LOL
Wonder if I'll ever be able to trust one again? I guess we have to take chances, right? LOL
Well thank goodness for that!
Nobody in the MT world deserves that much money. It's absolultely disgusting if executives can make that much at any company, considering it's the little people who do all the REAL work. The only executives deserving of that kind of salary are the ones who are out of the country half the year on business or actually doing something to better the company in a huge way. That is what is wrong with this country, they pay way too many useless people way too much money.
Thank goodness!
I almost thought that votefortheworst.com website was working!
Well, goodness.
I'm not sure what I'm supposed to get over. You're the one using the bold font, all caps, underlining, and 'way more exclamation points than anyone really needs. That looks like someone on the edge of hysteria to me.
Oh, and the wagging finger image was a nice touch. It added just that little hint of looniness that might otherwise have been missing.
Thanks for the laugh. This thread has been a hoot.
I work with a couple of people like you who prefer to work themselves into a state of towering rage and indignation rather than simply take the one simple step that would solve their problem. They're funny, too. They provide the rest of us with an never-ending source of entertainment.
Looking forward to further posts from you. One can always use a good laugh.
Oh my goodness
Honestly I don't think they did all they could do as the spokesman says. Because if these 2 girls had an "uncanny resemblance" then the officials would have known that from pictures/ID of the girls....and then someone should have said "Hey, they look A LOT alike, maybe we should confirm the identities". Sounds like the truckdriver may not have been the only one "asleep at the wheel". Very, VERY sad. But happy for the other family. I can't even imagine. Thanks for sharing the article.
Wow! 15 to 20? Oh my goodness! nm
d
Thank Goodness No
I think I have a a well balanced life with working at home. I do activities with my two daughters when they're home from school (one is in pre-school two full days a week). My husband and I go out withotu the children as well as take them on various activities. I also have a best friend that lives across the street and we usually go do things with them alone or with their children and our children most weekends, especially in the summer. My neighborhood is filled with children and in the summertime all the neighbors are out socializing. I used to call our neighborhood party central. LOL.
Oh my goodness, I have one
just like that. She is a case manager of pysch, and tehy are always at least 20-minute dictations filled with ummm, ummm, ummm, no change that, no sorry, ummm, ummm! Drives me crazy!
My goodness
I've had that procedure done. I do not think it would be very pleasant without anesthesia.
Thanks goodness
Good for you, for quitting and getting a better job. I have not time for impolite and unprofessional behaviour. No wonder they don't have much work. You are better off well shut of them. If you can be bothered, I would write a letter, more or less as you wrote here, about your experience with them, sort of a let them know how THEY are doing note. They need to learn a few things obviously.
Glad to hear you will no longer be a slave to that company. Hope you are getting out more now! This work can be addictive. We can be used and abused. Make your own music gal! Good luck to you!
Thank goodness!
Thank goodness those things don't do a very good job. At least we will have some form of transcription jobs around for awhile yet.
That reminds me of something funny though. Have you ever had someone start speaking of something you weren't expecting (I mean in person ... just normal conversation or at a business or something), and it just totally sounded like a foreign language or something? Like, you just could not even grasp something for a point of reference to figure it out? - I used to have that happen with a girl I worked with once in awhile (both ways). It is freaky but very funny once you figure out what the person is saying. :)
Oh, goodness...
Nobody is jumping down your throat. If you are going to fight this, you need more than basic understanding of the issue at hand. Why don't you try visiting Public Citizen's Web site and see if they can help you? There are already activist communities out there who already understand how to make effective changes. Regarding HIPAA, you will receive a lot more help over at ahima.org than you will on any MT site. Go over there and see if you can talk to somone who actually understands HIPAA and let them explain the details to you. You can also visit the US Department of Health and Human Services site. Anyway, it's your effort to organize, so really you should be the one who is telling us what sites to visit.
Me too!! Thank goodness that has gone up since then!
nm
I am sure others have goodness, plus sm
unless you have the original audio and report prior to sending, who really knows who made the error/edit changed by QA or the dictator merely recognized their own mistake and wanted it fixed for the record.
Not making excuses, not at all, or trying to make you feel better, but this is just a reality, the MT has no real protection without the above mentioned originals.
Goodness, how condescending! SM
Don't know any better? Really. Do tell.
I've worked in quite a few different jobs and fields over the years - and yes, professional white-collar jobs. I'm happy where I'm at (a large national), thank you very much.
I make good money (VERY good for where I live), benefits are comparable (if not slightly better than most), and I could not ask for better conditions. Pay is ALWAYS on time. My supervisor leaves me alone to work but is there when I need her. I have a HUGE variety of accounts available to me when work is low or when I'm bored with what I'm doing.
Why on earth would I change?
To my goodness-You can hold your own
here! Hats off to you!
OH MY GOODNESS. I would most definitely shred everything.
That is unnerving. Bless your heart.
My goodness, you are amusing. nm
.
My goodness! You always have to have the last word, don't you?
I thought you were done with this two posts ago.
Oh my goodness I forgot about the sm
"red surgical book." That was the first edition of The Surgical Word Book. I gave mine away when the next one came out and I have regretted it ever since! I think I told someone in a different post about learning to type on Olivetti manual typewriters but reading your note, I remember they were Royal typewriters!
Oh my goodness - I had no idea that
it could mean not only how many years they smoked - sometimes I wondered what age they started when it was such a large number (like 40) but it makes sense now that it could be divided in half. Thanks so much for explaining that. - Laurie
Thank goodness he is behind bars
There is no punishment severe enough for someone like that.
And to think he was a teacher :-(
I always believed Patsy and, as a mother, couldn't imagine being falsely accused the way she was. How awful. And to die before her name was cleared. Sad, so very sad. Thank goodness she knew the case was progressing and a clear suspect was being investigated. May Patsy and JonBenet both rest in peace. Bless the family.
what?where? Not where I live, thank goodness
in south Florida !!! Thanks goodness for that! *big smile*
Oh my goodness, Sharon! sm
I live in Lewisburg, PA too!!! Too funny!
Oh my goodness! That's a lot of coffee.
I recently cut my coffee intake from three large cups a day to, most days, none. For me, the big reason is that I sugar/cream it to death, and thought I might lose a few pounds. I also do not think that my brain works right when I've had that much coffee.
Trying to move to green tea sweetened with honey, and not three large cups. (LOL)
Thank goodness, if I had to work
anymore and worry about a job such as MT, I would hate that, but then I would be younger and might want to try something else. I am sooooooooo glad I am retirement age and if pushed, i.e. like lack of work, can go that route although would like to continue working for now.
I'm not required to but I do and thank goodness! sm
I've received emails over the last two days from doctor's offices asking about missing reports. I had sent the reports they were missing...I just sent them again...QA said it was probably on their end...well it would have to be, because I had everything completed that I was assigned and turned in before the required time.
Thank goodness because you just made
Thank goodness you caught it and not QA
thanks for the chuckle
I haven't, thank goodness, but... sm
You can tell when me moves it from one side of his mouth to the other because his speech gets even more garbled.
My goodness, what a temper.
x
oh my goodness...I am so sorry. hang in there. sm
Sometimes it's a blessing in disguise.
Hugs all around.
My goodness!!!!! that's just awful!
We have a group of radiologists that are in our hospital that read our reports. Gosh I can't believe that is happening! How crazy is that! I may end up having to change careers if my job isn't secure. I hate to do that because I have to work to pay the bills so I would be doing school and working full-time, and I have an 11-month old baby that I will hardly get to spend any time with, but I guess I gotta do what I gotta do.
Oh my goodness! I do mine the sm
same way! I had never thought about the Gregg ShortHand thing, but I took it for two years and loved it. So I guess that is why I do my expansions like I do! Thanks for shining the light!!!!!!!!!!
Its good being an antique!!!!! Remember, a good antique is usually worth quite a bit of money!!!!!!!!1
Oh goodness you took the words sm
right out of my brain. You said them better than I ever could. I use to tell the complainers at one hospital I worked for to make themselves invaluable. Learn how to do the stuff you hate just as well as teh stuff you love. ESLs as well as the good dictators. That way you will always have a job. As you say, at that point, you can almost command your salary and have a job even in this crummy economy.
Thanks for your post!!!!!!!!
All these stories! My goodness
I switch back and forth each and every day I am working. The place I work for is a teaching hospital, therefore we have interns and those are never on VR. What is hard between working both ways? Another story that really just does not make sense.
Just want to say thank goodness for this board. Have not heard
a thing from Denver though I work for them now and old office won't say much about the changes.
Reading about MTs leaving MQ has got me even more nervous than the changes themselves.
Feeling so stressed and finding it harder to concentrate on work. I'm trying to stay away from the boards but it's the only way I find out anything with this company.
Oh my goodness!!!! The headache clinic
setting, but I elected not to do it. My insurance would not cover it after the study, and it would be about $2000 per year, about 30 injections every three months - I thought I'd try another route first. Wow. I really hope that you get relief. How interesting to transcribe for a headache clinic. I would love to hear those reports.
my goodness you're insecure
You go OP! Thank goodness those kinds of people...
weren't the ones we needed to depend on in the past 250 yrs. Where would we be now? My ex-husband earns a VERY GOOD salary from the training he received in the Army. He has no college degree, just his military training, which is highly specialized and has provided him with a good income for many years.
LOL Thank goodness. Thanks for posting the link. nm
Thank goodness, I like happy endings.
x
I'm an IC and all four accounts allow two spaces. Thank goodness, as I don't know how I'd
d
Oh my goodness, I honestly believe you need *help*. I feel sorry for you.
YOU mentioned ESLs (English second language) and that means you were putting down the dictators who are not American/white/Caucasian, whatever you want to call it. Maybe you didn't mention the word RACE but you said ESLs.
Your ranting is really ridiculous. I truly feel sorry for you if you are the kind of person who is always this angry and hostile. I have absolutely nothing against my race, nor did I say anything in any of my posts against my race, white/Caucasian. I only said that bad dictators can come from any race, English first language among them.
Please....get a grip.
Thank goodness for Mike Gallagher for...
backing those insane idiots from Topeka off of protesting the funerals of the Amish girls killed in the schoolhouse. He offered them money and anything else he could think of to keep them from going to PA..and then realized what they want is to "get their word out"...as if any sane person would agree with ANY of their beliefs. So he gave them an hour of airtime on his radio show today in exchange for them staying away from the funerals in PA. I just wonder would these people be so open and welcoming to their church protesting a funeral of their own family member and saying their death is justified based on the twisted reasons they spout out of their mouths...and as sick as they are...the answer would probably be yes.
Thank goodness... I was scared there for a minute (sm)
I WISH I was fast enough that I could estimate with the "add a zero" thing. 300 lines in 30 minutes... WOW! I have also been doing MT about 1-1/2 years, and I find that 60 minutes of dictation = 3 hours. I am in a neurosurgery clinic, though, so it's pretty tough stuff. I have all American docs, though, so that helps a bit.
As a note: I do want to point out that -- according to my QA reports -- I have not fallen below a 99% accuracy rate since my 60-day probationary right-out-of-school period and I usually maintain a 100% accuracy rate. I have VERY rare blanks (1-2 a month). I take the time to research anything that is not totally familiar to me. In other words... I may not be fast, but I'm definitely GOOD. (When I go on vacation, my doctors tell my MTSO to hold their work until I get back, because they don't want anyone else doing it for them.)
If I could be this good AND super-fast, I'd be in heaven!
Goodness! This has sure been a touchy subject!
Just my 2 cents since everyone has has put theirs in too... As I posted earlier, I have 2 small kids (6 and 7) and 1 teenager (15). I had always worked "outside" but got laid off while working as an LPN and went back to school for this to specifically work at home. I do like what I do and do feel privileged to work at home. It is hard to juggle everything, but it was also hard to juggle everything when I worked outside of the home as well. It is what it is. My husband thinks my job is great, but he doesn't comprehend how difficult it is to deal with the distractions from just being at home, as I think it is difficult for anyone who doesn't work at home to understand that. People don't respect work time when you are at home like they do when you are at a place of business, be it friends or family. I also think that people do sometimes look at this profession with these rose-colored glasses because we "work at home" and forget that we have to actually work! You just can't do housework and cook and whatever else for 8 hours and get in 8 hours of work at the same time. That being said... as I live in Minnesota and it is like 15 below 0 outside with lots colder than that windchill... I am grateful that I can work at home even on my most worst days!
Oh my goodness!! You've solved it!!
Well I'll be darned. Thank you, TT2007!!
Although I must admit, it's not the most user-friendly application....
What blows my tiny mind is that the tech guy at Dictaphone wasn't even able to tell me this! Typical!! LOL Well, thanks again!
