Oh boy! I am fed up!

Hey ladies and gentleman... I hope I am on the right board and do not bend any rules by posting this.

But, I am sooo mad right now I could spit nails.   First, I have been transcribing for nine years doing various types of work from various job sites both at home and in house.   I moved to south Georgia last year.  I brought my main work with me as I work from home, but because I need insurance I went to work at a local hospital that was "desperately needing help."   After three months of being badgered  and I mean badgered for every imagined thing I finally quit, put in my notice and quit.  I thought it was just something personal between me and the supervisor and realized that no matter what I did would not ever be good enough and that was that.

Then............ A fellow co-worker (we both work together from home) applied for a position in the same area but just at a different co-facility.

To make a long story short.  They did not seem as interested in her extensive work background as they were in her girth... seriously.... being overweight!  I am overweight also, so the pieces began falling in place...

Explain - somebody please - what has overweight got to do with work ethics, productivity, etc.?

Has anyone else had this encounter ?  I am so confused.. I have worked for many jobs over the years even before I became a transcriptionist, worked in factories and stores.  Never have I been made to feel as low about my appearance as I have  just now by hearing her story.  I almost answered that add.  I am glad that I did not.

I am at  the point of not sending in resumes, but going in person and seeing how they deal with me physically.  I dont want to waste my expertise on that kind of shallow thinking.

Are there any jobs out there in transcription land that a "fat gal" can be appreciated for the work of her hands and not maligned for the size of her girth?

Do I hear an AMEN?????????
