Wait, you want me to walk in a masochist's shoes or a liar's shoes and work 80 hours for what?
Kick off the freaking shoes. Why do you wear them 80 hours a week was the question.
shoes
When I worked at hospitals, in Medical Records, the minute I got in, the shoes came off. I would put on thick socks and slide around the rooms in my sock feet for my shift, even when helping doctors or other staff..Never got complaints, in fact a few times they would laugh..now working at home, I wear flip flops and take the right foot off when working..
put yourself in his shoes -
You need to know the history of NO to know exactly how those people feel about politicians.. There was a tradition of corruption for many, many years. This is not about you and what words you hate. This was a desperate situation. FEMA and Bush had failed.
Shoes
I work in a hospital and have seen nurses, etc. wearing these--at least it sounds like them. I haven't asked any of them what they are because I think they are so dang ugly. I figured they must be very, very comfortable.
I was in your shoes
and I would highly recommend training if you're going to look outside the specialties you know. Especially with the national transcription companies, you will likely have a lot of ESL docs, and that can be a complete nightmare if you aren't already experienced in the field dictated. If you were transcribing work that a urologist from Egypt dictated, you would have a frame of reference because you're well-familiar with the world of urology and you would be able to 'hear past' the accent. But if the Egyptian doc was a neurologist or a cardiologist, it would be very difficult to decipher what you're hearing, when your knowledge of those specialities is more limited. Also, with a national company, you won't have the luxury of learning the other specialties a little bit at a time. It would probably make more sense to spend the money on further education so that when you make the change to multiple specialties, you'll be able to meet your line quotas.
I have been in your shoes
Not that we are by any means doing well right now, my kids get reduced lunches at school, but in the past I have gone to the local town's food pantry and they had given us a box of donated food, it helped us get through some very tough times. Keep your head up things will get better and one day you will look back and shake your head. Peace.
I was in your shoes....
Back in August, I switched over to satellite and I love it!! I've had no problems with it going out, even during storms. Once or twice, during a really bad stormy day, it was slower than usual and I had to keep getting back into web sites but I was able to work fine! I have been pleased with satellite! Good luck!
and shoes too!!
;
I also have walked in your shoes..
Talk about discouraging.. I have had over 13 years of what my doctors called "making them sound good" to going to work for "nationals" that will slow strip away your confidence. I even worked for 4 years at a large medical center (received bonus and raises based on performance), yet I have had these QA people at "nationals" tell me I am doing this wrong or that wrong. I swear I proofread my reports to death, yet they always find something, even incorrect punctuation which is subjective to me. I have been working at home and now feel that I can do nothing right, not even put a comma where it "should" go. They will pick your work to pieces and I have just accepted a position with a large local hospital. Imagine that... I even passed a transcription test to get that job. So, I am outta here and I cannot wait.
Walk in the shoes.
x
Oh man, that just makes me want to go put some shoes on!

I have not walked in your shoes, but my SIL has. sm
After having a reversal done on a tubal (and paying an ungoshly amount for it - roughly 15K), nothing happened. She was put on fertility drugs and still nothing happened. However, as of today, she started her 6 month of pregnancy. I am going to have a nephew and I cannot wait!! I am so happy for my brother and equally as happy for my sister in law (who is really more like my sis). She had a rough time the past couple of years and I spent many nights listening to her cry and wishing there was a way I could fix it (of course knowing there wasn't). God definitely shined on them! :)
do you wear shoes when you work? sm
if so, what kind? If I wear sneakers, my feet get too hot and sweaty. If I wear slippers, I don't feel like I get enough support. Any suggestions?
I can't stand wearing shoes.
Sometimes I'll wear socks in the winter if my feet get cold.
re: Dancing Shoes and MQ Rocks
Yes there are MT's out there who only hae one account and never run out of work--none of these MT's work for the Amherst office, if they do, please feel free to prove me wrong. If there is an MT that works for the Amherst office and only has ONE account and they can make their lines and never run out of one--please let us know. Then we would know that their was hope for us. I agree with Dancing Shoes in the CA office, when our office closed 4 or 5 of our MT's were transferred to the CA MQ office, some went to the AZ MQ office, which has now closed, and those girls were transferred to the Dallas office, and some were transferred to the Ohio office, whcih according to one of the postings is being closed at the end of the year--all these MT's have plenty of work and only have one or two accounts and can make their production. My point is, if other offices can be run this way, why can't the Foxboro and Amherst offices be run the same way. Why do we need to be in 5 or 6 accounts, or as the MT that posted earlier today, she was in 8 accounts. Again, why can't all the offices be run the same. If there is not enough work to go around stop hiring more people--the accounts certainly can not be out of TAT when we are all out of work
actually i was in your shoes and I switched jobs. sm
I am a single mother and was not at all happy about where I was and no I didnt come on here and complain about it. Yes I did find another job, had to do without insurance for about a month, and glad I made the switch. I even accepted the job at the very same pay.
I think you are just scared to take that leap. i do have compassion, but when you arent happy about something, you should try to do something.
Whether it is to go to the proper channels with MQ and complain to them or find another job. It isnt doing anyone any good to come here. Nothing will change.
That is all I am saying.
It just gets everyone in an uproar and solves nothing.
You and only you have control over your life as I do mine.

Good for both of you! Hey, I know exactly where you're coming from with the sore neck and shoulders - I had 2 cervical diskectomies with bone implants, screws and plate fixation in March. What I do is request a 12-hour window for work, then work 2 or 3 hours and break for 1 or 2, work another 2 or 3 and take that break, then do the last of my shift. It's incredible the difference it makes as opposed to sitting "frozen" all the way through!
Of course, there are days when I'm able to do more than 2 or 3 hours at a time, and I do them at will, but scheduling the 12-hour window really makes a difference.
If I were MT Queen for a Day, I would make that the #1 optional guideline for all MTs! We are, after all, the backbone of the medical profession!
OK, I'm off my soapbox now . . . :o)
put on your track shoes, baby! :)
I'll be officially divorced on September 10, 2006, and I can't wait! I was only married for a year and a half. I was absolutely at the end of my rope. I tried everything. Counselors, psychiatrists (for me), drugs, books, websites, EVERYTHING! I hated Fridays b/c it meant spending another two days with my husband. In my opinion, counseling is great, but it ONLY WORKS when the other party is ready to accept responsibility. And usually, sadly, they're just not.
As someone once said, "You don't need a reason to leave someone you can't stand!" I also really like this quote, "My worst day single is better than my best day married!"
Good luck, and remember, you DO deserve someone who treats you well.
PERIOD. ;)
Plastic shoes that come in many different colors, and several
different styles. Very popular with medical personnel who are on their feet all day. Google Crocs.
I agree - put your running shoes on
nm
Apply for a new job. If I was still at my original job, I'd be in your shoes. (NM)
dd
weren't these shoes originally called...sm
to me, crocs would be made out of crocodiles (I do live in Florida *LOL*).....what you all describe sounds like the *jellies* my daughter wore when she was 10 or 12.
I made a little foam heel rest so I can have my shoes off
otherwise, can't feel the peddle.
How about you just walk in the shoes you hold with disdain, and you get changes made
x
I love shoes, bras, and daily showers.
I must not be cut out to be an at-home MT!
;o}
I hate shoes to start with, but I can't feel the foot pedal
if I have on shoes. In the summer I'm usually barefoot, in the cooler months I have on socks.
No shoes, barefoot in summer, heating pad on low in front of foot pedal
