Offering E-Signature to a Client

Hi,
Does anyone know about offernig E-Signature to a client? Is there a way to do it easily, on your own -- I mean, instead of signing up with a big company like Vianeta or Bayscribe to handle all of the reports you type and want to send to a client.
Or... If that's the only way to go - through a big company - are there any big companies that are economical if you just have 1-2 doctor clients? I know some of those companies charge like $5,000 as a set up fee. Thank you.
Dave
I mean, I'm sure you can do it

E-signature help. sm
Is this service available for IC MTs? I would like to get it, but have no knowledge of how to get it. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks!
check signature
It's going to be very tough to fight. The drivers licence would have to have been shown, so did you let somebody use it? Have your signature verified as well.
Most likely you will have to pay it and it can be expensive depending on where you are. My daughter-in-law got a ticket in Oregon for 500.00 for lack of proof of insurance. She had to pay the 500.00, plus another 400.00 to the state, PLUS she has to carry insurance in Oregon, even though she doesn't live there, for three years.
Electronic Signature/sm
I just add this phrase to the doctor signature line in the reports "(Electronic signature has been affixed)." I do not have any special program. Is there one out there?
Electronic signature
Where can I get information on electronic signatures and HIPAA compliance regarding this? Thanks!
You do not get any credit for the signature
line, patient demographics, carbon copy lines, etc. Some of this info may not take a lot of effort on your part, but it still will take a bit of input for which you will not be paid. These saves lines add up at the end of the day, thus saving the hospital tons of money. It makes you wonder what will be cut next to save a buck?
electronic signature software
I own a small home based medical transcription business and have been asked by prospective new clients about electronic signature capabilities. Can anyone recommend a company or any advice regarding my document management needs. I currently have physician offices set up digitally without any electronic signature capability at all.
Thanks
I think the on-line signature service
was something like 90 for me last year, can't remember exact amount, and he really helped me a lot. The first couple of years, I went to an actual office too and got charged an arm and a leg and thought what's the deal, charged for every page and form they did and thought I can just plug the numbers that I gave her into those screens as well as she can. They were charging more than my ex got charged at an accounting firm when we were married, and his business was WAY more complicated. That's when I started doing my taxes myself using some system on-line.
HA! Ignore the signature above - I forgot to change it !!!!
A signature is authorization that the info is correct.
Anyone who has signed a income tax return knows this. A doctor who does not read his report before signing is incompetent. If a report is signed, it is sending a message that it is correct.
one more ques nana: digital signature. ?how do you get it on there (sm)
On that first way you are describing --- are your docs able to SIGN OFF on the note digitally?
Preferences? Setting up NP with Doc signature block
Need to set up nurse practitioner dictator with Doc signature block, think I know how it should be set up but it's been awhile. Any current examples or preferences of how anyone likes to do this? Thanks.
Might need to mail her a letter from a lawyer that requires a signature and take some action. nm

Do you put "License xxxxx" on a SOAP note for signature title?
I am typing up a SOAP note template for a new PT. He gave me his credentials, plus his "number," which is his license number for his signature title. He did not say to put License in front of the number, but I think it looks funny without it. Has anyone ever done this before? Is it appropriate to put the word "License" before the number? He is away from the office, otherwise I would ask him myself.
Thank you!
they will be offering some pto time for se
doesn't say much more than that but they are mentioned
That's my question too. There you are, offering to help, SM
and here I am offering to help, and what happens? We're called liars. I always just get so stirred up by this that it makes me want to holler.
What possible good feeling could a person get from making another person feel bad? NONE!
What possible good feeling could you get for helping somebody increase her earnings? A BUNCH!
But nobody wants the help, nobody wants to know how you produce, they just want to whine.
one would think offering expertise and guidance
You'd be not only happy, but FLATTERED to be asked questions. Newbies should be admired for asking questions and encouraged to do so, rather than putting whatever they want. There are times when you search, and search and search, not finding, but having two sets ears especially one with more experience is always better than one set. Stop being grumpy already. geez.
No, it means you will have the option of offering it
to the next highest bidder if the original high bidder does not pay. Usually you will just leave it there until item is paid for and shipped. It's really just in case the first deal doesn't go through.
About offering direct deposit.
Klaar is getting ready to offer direct deposit (again). Oh boy, gotta wonder if they formerly offered it, then canceled it, and are ready to offer it again (soon).
Look at all the jobs out there NOT offering 10 or even 9 cpl. For the majority of us, it

I know, I was just offering an opinion on the other side...
Besides work, I have some other things going on in my life that cause it to pile up sometimes, although I swear I'm not lazy, just overwhelmed lately. I'm a stickler about the floors though.
And I'll take 4 over 5 any day!
If offering that as bonus, you can bet it is pain
x
Depends on who is offering that. I'm pretty sure I know who.
Does it start with a T? If so, I'd have to say turn it out unless you want to get stuck with the crappiest accounts. Why do you think they pay better than most for Escription? If you do have work that hasn't gone to India, it will be nothing but the rotten ESL accounts. Think hard about this one
No worse than the ads offering $500-1000...sm
a week at home, no experience, stuffing envelopes, addressing mail, etc, etc, at home, and once you anwer them they want you to send in money up front.
Cuba is offering 1500 doctors to help us...
This was posted with a picture in the hurricane slideshow.
Hundreds of Cuban doctors listen to a speech by Cuban President Fidel Castro in Havana, September 4, 2005. The U.S. gave longtime foe Cuba the cold shoulder on Tuesday over its offer to send more than 1,500 doctors to help victims of Hurricane Katrina, which created a humanitarian disaster after pummeling the U.S.Golf Coast. What a disgrace. During times like these, people should be able to set aside their grudges and problems and come together.
MY QUESTION TOO...I don't even see that they are offering SE positions in this new plan.
I just got the memo dated Sept 2
I have read it 3 times
I do not see the words STATUTORY EMPLOYEE anywhere
I am assuming they are doing away with that position???????
Anybody know?
and if so why am I scurring around trying to buy a computer to
accommodate their new platform as an SE when they are only hiring
EMPLOYEES.........who they provide computers to
Hospial offering me 14.50 hour and benefits.

Central FL, yes, and the theme parks are all offering jobs. nm

That means you didn't win the auction, but the seller is offering
the item to you anyway. Either the winning bidder backed out, the seller had a duplicate item, or they lowered their reserve price.
suggest offering a line count lower than....nm
Dell offering support based in N. America
By Peter Whoriskey
Washington Post Staff Writer Thursday, December 11, 2008; Page D01
If you prefer a customer service agent who speaks "American," then computer maker Dell has a deal for you.
Catering to consumers put off by the accents of Bangalore, Manila and other call-center hubs around the globe, Dell will guarantee -- for a price -- that the person who picks up the phone on a support call will be, as company ads mention in bold text, "based in North America."
The Your Tech Team service, with agents in the United States, costs $12.95 a month for customers with a Dell account, or $99 a year for people who buy a new computer. It also promises that wait times will average two minutes or less. Without the upgrade, a customer is likely to get technical help from someone in India, the Philippines or the other places where Dell has operators.
By charging customers extra for a North American voice, Dell's program represents a novel strategy for easing the strains of globalization while maintaining profit, industry officials said.
Occasionally, "we've heard from customers that it's hard to understand a particular accent and that they couldn't understand the instructions they were getting," said Dell spokesman Bob Kaufman. "This illustrates Dell's commitment to customer choice."

Medicare is offering free installation of EMR to physicians and hospitals.

On this new MQ rewards plan what exactly is it offering statutory employees and I suppose that that
is going to be the end of our quarterly bonus. My concern still is if there is no work how do you get any incentive if they lower the base rate. Sounds like employees will have a larger window to get their work done which means we all will be scrambling around for work at all hours.
It means one MTSO offering to pay you 3, 4 or 5 cents/line less for the same work you do at another!

FTP Client
I still don't know what an FTP client is that was asked in the original question?
the client always wants a little something...sm
The client always wants a little something for nothing.....so I give them a free line if there is only one word on the line...I give them a 68-72 character line (spaces I do count). I have never upped them in 9 years, but on my 10th anniversary I am upping them to 13 CPL. I also give them their 5 line headings for nothing as it's only 2 Keystrokes for me. They are good to me so I bake for the offices a couple of times a year and give the offices a gift during the winter holidays.
I do for one client
One of my clients requested that I charge this way. We do 10 words = 1 line, so basically a penny per word. From what I have figured, I'm doing okay when compared to the character count way of charging on this account. I think they requested charges calculated this way because of being ripped off by their last MT. Once I send their files, they can check the word count and keep a running tab to compare with my statement. They're satisfied and I'm satisfied, so it works well.
Have your client do it. SM
Call the office of your client and have them fax/e-mail to you samples of their prior surgeries. There's certainly nothing wrong with asking for this.
the client does not have to have it-- sm
The client can unzip using WinZip or whatever program they have installed, but MP Tools is so easy, some clients may want to use it. I have a couple who are interested in purchasing it just for the printing function, which works really well.
I had a client ask me to look
They provided a patient list for the date of service, but if the patient was not on there, then I had to view on-line the past week of patient lists to look for the name. Yeah right - that took 15 or 20 minutes sometimes uploading and viewing. So now, they get an inaccurate spelling of the patient name with a comment when I send there report, pt. not on list. Hello? Like the low wage isn't bad enough, and then add in that kind of junk. It is pathetic.
What the client says is law, if that is what they want, then
that is what they expect and they have the right to tell an MTSO who can and cannot work on their accounts.
Even with this, the client is always
BOS is a style guide, which I do not own. However, I aim to please the client. So, if the doctor wants to spell something his own way, then so be it. He went to medical school, not me! A book of style means absolutely nothing to a client who wants things a certain way. End of story.
It is just according to what the client
wants. Most do I would think, but some want them in a paragraph form and not captialized. Need to check with your supervisor or client.
Oh my! Do you have your own client? sm
I don't know of any MTSOs who pay 13 cpl. If you found one please share.
I'm not sure, but if the client does not
get a cut for using ASR, they why would they care whether their physicians use it or not????
We would be a lot more valued if they all thought ASR was as good as originally touted and had no editors to fix the darn reports it spits out.
First off..there is no way the client is getting a
And ASR is NO WAY 3 times faster...that will never happen. Most transcriptionists type the speed of the dictator to begin with. ASR could be a great tool for those of us needing a break from transcription, but it does not warrant ripping off our cpl's..ESPECIALLY when the client is charged the same...the have NO WAY of knowing whether the report is goes to ASR or not. Lastly, an ASR Editor needs YEARS of transcription experience, becuase to insure a correct report
It would be according to what the client
wants. We just type the numbers if they are dictated that way.
Unless specified by the client, I only
expand in diagnoses, procedures, impression, etc. I always type what they say when it comes to drugs, you don't change things like two a day to b.i.d. unless directed to do so by the client specifically. Also, on my client we are not allowed to use slang, so if they say "sat" we expand to saturation, bili is changed to bilirubin etc. A good MT never takes it upon herself to change something that is dictated UNLESS they are specified to in certain instances by the client or it something is wrong--then if it is changed you flag it for your QA.
I think relistening to a certain client until you
are very used to them is a good idea. Just put it on high speed and go over it. That won't take near as much time. I am QA and I can most certainly tell the difference between those who relisten or at least reread and those who do not.
never a client from a national, but...sm
A client approached me AFTER both HE and I had quit working for this one particular MTSO...I worked for him, she found out and tried to sue ME for $20K.
I sent her back a play $20K bill and told her that was about as much as her "lawsuit" was worth. Never heard another word from her.
