I've used Smartype and Extext together for the last few years and I have never been able to ge the Smartype menu. I just add things to the ESP in Extext and use it in conjunction with Extext. Also, if you open just plain old Word while you have Extext open, you can go over to the plain Word document and add what you want to add and then go back to Extext. Know what I mean?
