If you want to bury your head in the sand, go ahead, but that is not a healthy way to live.
Health care costs are high in this country for a lot of reasons, not simply because so many of us are obese. Alcohol and drugs, both legal and illegal, are still the major culprits for health impairment, not food. The food chain in the USA is another issue that would take a volume to address.
Health care costs are astronomical because our government does nothign to protect its citizens against the greed of the pharmaceutical companies, the AMA, the AHA (American Hospital Association), medical equipment providers, insurance companies, nursing homes, home health care associations, and a host of other corporations that make money off sick people.
We, the American taxpayer, foot the majority of the bill for research and development on new drugs, new surgical and clinical protocols, many types of medical research, but we the American taxpayer pay 3 to 4 times more for the drugs we paid to develop than our neighbors in Canada or any European country. Their countries have laws that protect them from being fleeced by pharmaceutical companies.
If you actually believe everything in your post, you have to be a very naive person. Just keep that head in the sand and BE HAPPY as that annoying song from 1988 advised everyone to be.
